Any rules that have a specific financial implication should always have interest built in. Doesn’t make sense otherwise. The way more and more clubs have got close to this shows how outdated it is. If I was La Liga I’d be lowering regulation for spend with the goal of growing their league while the Prem is in a bit of a shambles.

When we got the points deduction I predicted they would change the rules and we would be the only club ever to be punished. I still think that will be the case, Forest depending.

Yeah, it’s a football stadium. It’s just got features to help for the other 340 or so days per year. I’d love to see a return of the Liverpool summer pops and host it on the fan plaza, with maybe a big headline show to close, which could be on the pitch. Rugby’s magic weekend would be perfect for it too. Moving to Leeds this year. We should be pushing, hopefully we already are, for 2027 on wards. I wouldn’t do anything on the pitch in 2026 as after a year of football I’m sure the ground staff will want to see how the pitch has reacted and make future plans for the surface.

Nice summary Rob. Regards to the naming rights and the length of the deal. They are looking for a long term deal from the update a few days ago. I guess from the sponsors point of view if it’s locked in for 10/15 years it gives a stronger branding. Can anyone tell me where Bolton play? It’s the Reebok stadium right? But Reebok haven’t been the sponsor for about ten years. Anyone remember City playing at The City of Manchester Stadium? Or Arsenal calling the Emirates Ashburton Grove? Maybe this is why clubs give them a shit forgettable name like Tottenham Hotspur Stadium, and why we are building Everton Stadium rather than Bramley Moore Dock Stadium or something that might stick after we get a sponsor. Im rambling.

You don’t think after steadying the ship through such a massive shit show he’s earned the chance to improve on how the team play himself rather than a successor trying it? For me, he’s earned the right to at least two more years at the club.

I don’t completely disagree, but I do a bit, about DCL. It’s not like in those 16 or so games without a goal he’s missed a shit load of chances. He had a goal he scored taken of him and given to Harrison, and apart from the one on one against Villa we’ve probably not even made ten decent chances for him in the rest of those games. His lack of goals is a team problem really. We don’t create very much at all. Also, Dyche is doing a good job. He’s the best thing that’s happened to this club since we lost Rodriguez.

I think it’s just another case of disappointment. I was excited to see an open and transparent response to the select committee. To find out it was just more cloak and dagger cover up from Masters left me not wanting to even talk about it. If anything it has me even more concerned about the appeal and the second charge. We should have just done what City did and tell them to fuck right off. I can’t get my head around the “right way” to do things is to have the club lose more money (millions) so they can appear differently on a balance sheet. A process designed to promote sustainable business, which has done nothing but cost the club millions in legal representation, millions in reputation damage, and ultimately millions in prize money. Sustainability?

That is likely to bring some form of closure, but there is one other avenue available to Everton should they require it. Premier League rules state that clubs unhappy with the appeals process can seek arbitration in exceptional circumstances, such as if they believe there to have been malpractice or procedural errors. For that to happen, the identity of an independent arbiter would need to be agreed by both parties. Very glad to read that there is still another option should it not go our way.

I’d be very surprised if there are many, if any, hospitality places available by the time we move. The sales team have been on it for about six months already, with another 18 to go. With what’s on offer I think the whole lot will be sold pretty soon. Looking at the size of the seating sections it’s going to be a couple of thousand at least. I’d suspect there will be more of the bar packages available in Bramley-Moore than all of the hospitality we have at Goodison. Plus the thousands of corporate hospitality places available. It’s a game changer for the club.

No packages yet mate. Got to tell them you're interested and then they share that info. I do like this idea of having something half way between a traditional hospitality package and the standard ticket only package. Hopefully its competitively priced.

I took my 3 year old daughter and 5 year old niece to the game against Leicester and my daughter enjoyed it. She’s been asking can we go again, we were going to the West Ham game in a couple of weeks too. Gearing her up for the men’s game against West Ham at the end of the month. We got photos with Wheeler and the legend that is Toni Duggan. Even after a defeat the girls were all really happy to have photos and chat with the kids who came to watch the game. Made a real impression on my daughter. Also, Brosnan in goal is fucking terrifying!! Very commanding voice and doesn’t mind clearing a player out of the way.
