  1. I would be happy to see Rafa at the helm, as someone stated he seems that he isn't scared to drop players and its clear to see that he has that tactical awareness in european football.
  2. Very Lord Matthew the Eldritch of Kirkby Overblow or Marquess Trueblue the Ebullient of Chignall Duntisbourne gives a different name each time I put the same name in :-S
  3. I agree with mark, most chelsea fans say that he is far better than cashley.
  4. Thing with Capello is that he doesn't have the best man management style...
  5. I don't get all this bloody animal saving tbh. Its part of life, thats evolution battle of the fittest and all that. Who cares if there won't be any panda's or tigers in 50 years time? Obviously theres the egcological problem in the fact that if Polar bears become extinct then the population of seals will grow which will have a big effect on other animals. But, it's all about the world changing, as we all know that our modern world (excluding what we did to it) was completely difference millions of years ago. The world changes and the animals on it learn to go wih the change or die out. It's like all this global warming nonsence...no in fact I won't go there as that'll be another can of worms opened. Just my opinion on the matter
  6. Totally agree, we need someone with an ego and won't pick the media's and FA's favourtie players but will do it HIS own way. Thats why I'm hoping its Mourinho as he has the biggest ego out of them all, but I wouldnt mind Lippi if it was.
  7. Well surely it depend on who s/he made the immovable object immovable too? And surely, if 'God' created it then s/he can surely destroy? My view on religion..biggest con in the world. Like the old style of gangsters "give us money and we'll protect ur homes", but the religion version is much much more clever..."give us money or your going to burn for eternity in hell". I think we all know which one worked the best...
  8. I'd want the special one but I heard that he's not allowed to be England manager for the next 4 years. Some contract he signed a while back, somethine likethat
  9. What I don't understand is that, your at home and are looking to get a win to boast peoples and more importantly the players confidence and you play a 4-5-1 formation. He knows that the midfield of Lampard and Gerrard don't work, even with the excuse that Barry is in the middle with them it weren't gonna work. Then to make matters worse when we revert to 4-4-2 he leaves Gerrard and Lampard in the middle. Was utterly embarrassing, but I honestly think this will be a blessing in disguise. We need to do a Holland and get the overhyped, overrated and underperforming players out of that squad and play youngsters. Obviously we're not gonna get instant success but 2/3 years down the line I honestly think we'd reap the rewards... Just an idea.
  10. Well to start off, I used Hasslebaink as an example as when he first came to Leeds George Graham (I think it was him) thought he was too thin and lightweight for the Premiership so put him on a weight gain and muscle build program for 1-2 months. Muscle building isn’t too difficult; a lot of players have and will continue to build on their strength. If you went to the gym for a month and trained 5/6 days a week then I’m pretty sure that after a month you could see a difference. I don’t know the exact reasons why players aren’t told to put more muscle on, maybe the risk of more injury, the loss of pace. Maybe they feel they don’t need any more muscle. So can you please explain to me why certain ethnic groups find it difficult to gain strength? I also changed my topic of my dissertation to: How, if at all, has the atmosphere at football grounds changed over the past 15 years. With taking into consideration the new style of football grounds and the ever increasing ticket prices. I haven't actually done any of it yet, still in early days of planning.
  11. Am I interrupting that wrong? Are you saying that everyone other than players from developed countries are too weak to play football in Britain? As muscle can easily be built up, look at Hasslebaink when he was first at Leeds, and to claim that some of the Asians and third would potential players are too weak minded or not motivated enough then I seriously think you are misled. I actually wanted to do this for my dissertation but ended up changing my topic. I think that clubs are already actively trying to get more ethnic people into football, unfortunately I don't think its for the fact they could be a rough diamond of a player on their doorstep, nope, more of how much money they can make out of them. Think of places like Bradford, Manchester, etc, if all those ethnic minorities decided to get into football the revenue for the local teams would increase quite a lot. As you said, look at the places like Bradford, massive ethnic population yet in the ground on a Saturday you'll be very lucky to sport a person from an ethnic background. Also, I think if you try and encourage the ethnic people like one club did when they had an Asian only tournament then you can also isolate the fans you have already. It also doesn't help when most ethnic people are already interested in another sport other than football, such as cricket and hockey.
  12. Some would say that describes Henry...
  13. think he was makin a joke about it being bi...
  14. Not sure if u want eye witness accounts of him but I found these... http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Alex_Stevenson http://www.evertonfc.com/history/everton-legends-n-s.html
  15. I actually still rated Hibbert at the beginning of this season due to my blind faith in his ability...
  16. The think with the last race is for that it was far too suspicious. Things kept going wrong with the cars and some woeful tactical decisions made things 10 times harder for Hamilton. But, I was thinking that the Ferrari 1+2 finish was something to do with the whole "Spygate" incident, just a conspiracy theory and do think that Kimi deserved to win it over Hamilton though. My vote, exc Jimmy, would go to Calzaghe.
  17. Last time I checked this was football we were talking about and nothing, absolutely nothing is guranteed in football and that is why we enjoy/annoyed by it.
  18. Everton - Zcars Haven't heard the top one so not sure if this is any better or worse quality.
  19. Or was it just that Neville weren't playing?
  20. The thing that got to me yesterday was how badly we played. There wasn't any width and with that no back up for the full backs which meant that one of the central defenders drifted over to the full backs to help out which in turn left a huge game in the middle and on the other side. Osman never played on the wing once and was always drifting in the middle, Jimmy was too far forward. So on the left, where Osman was meant to be, Yak kept coming back. Even Johnson was coming back to get the ball and when your two strikers are recieving the ball to feet on the half way line you are having problems in midfield. The amount of times they got us a freekick on or near the halfway line should have been on the edge of the box. Neville had a 'mare and what annoys me most about him is the way he points to other people to go in 'spaces' when it's obvious it'd be better for him to take that position up. Also a few times he was running away with his back facing the ball which looked like he never wanted the ball. One lad behind me said "AJ just doesn't know when and where to make a run", to which his mate replied: "noone does when Hibbert has the ball". And I thought, not a truer word spoken. Both Nevilles and Hibberts distribution was shocking. But in all fairness no one seemed to want the ball or even move into position to recieve it, and to be honest, it did look like some people on that pitch didn't want to be there. I was just thankful that they were pretty bad and very wasteful of their chances. Am disappointed but hopeful (dare I say expecting) us to go there and get a result.
  21. Reading some of the posts on that Man U forum is just disgusting. They go on about Liverpools supposedly self pity but it actually seems that it's their own self love that is blinding them in seeing that it's not about football at all. It is about the city. It's not a stunt to get Liverpool more liked than Man U, it's showing that the city are Liverpool are united in a moment like this. If they can't see that then I have no time nor any respect for them. It also wouldn't surprise me that they are supporting Man United for all the wrong reasons. However, it's not all of them just a small minority that are trying to undermine the real reason for it. It just confuses and angers me.
  22. Expected really. Was probably a done deal before they started the ballot. Not been on for a long time due to other commitments and not sure if someones mentioned something like this but I did wonder whether all this money we have had recently is part of the deal...
  23. Surely Howard would be in that list... And Cahill, we all seen how he slam dunked Alonso's head
  24. Precisely, it is completely ridiculous. Think of how much newspapers, like the echo, have to fork out to print the fixtures. And that doesn't even cover the right to put it on the internet. They have to 'buy' the rights to the fixtures again (think thats what they have to do anyway).
