  1. Can see your point and my dads a builder so he wanted me to go uni, but what I just think uni is so different from a couple of years ago. One a seperate not what I find stupid is that there is a degree for anything, even heard of one studying David Beckham. But I don't see why you need a qualification these days so much. Take, for example, my mate. He works for the council going round on his tractor thing cutting crass etc. he loves it but they now have him doing a HND in something or other. When he gets it his wages automatically go up. Now he said that although he knows what to do it's finding it hard to put it in words and on paper. Now he's not the most academic person but he's still judged by a qualification like everyone else. All his bosses haven't qualifications as they learnt it through experience. Another prime example is my dad, he owns his own building company (albiet its on a max 3 man workforce) but he hasn't one qualification to his name yet is a successful builder. Yet there are courses now to become a bricklayer. What I'm getting at is why is everyone so fussed about qualifications? It's fair to say that most people who go into the building trade or gardening path are not academic people and left school at 16 so why do they need a qualification to do a job that for so long hasn't needed one. In my dad's opinion the only experience is important to become a good builder, even he doesn't agree with all these courses.
  2. You can't really comment on the arrests as English people have a 'reputation' so as soon as something happens, straight in split them up and take 'em. It could have been the Milan fans as they're not exactly innocent. Xav - Kudos on coming on here when the boot was on the other foot but... Some things I'd like to say, not completely aimed at you but what a few fans have said to me about it. Firstly the decisions, don't forget some of the decision went your way so it wasn't all against you. Also how do you think Milan felt last year, they were 3-0 up and fucked it up. I'd be more gutted with that then a 2-1 defeat. Another thing you said was that you were the better team, so was Milan in '05 but looked out that turned out. Some great saves by Dudek and solid defending you managed to hold in there for pens, oh and you have a lot of luck that day. About luck, ahh some Liverpool fans cursing their luck. Makes me laugh, well know you all know how Milan felt after '05. But, as you said we weren't there so what do we know about European football
  3. Congrats mate, and his Everton bib is cool
  4. It's not a question of ambition and I certainly weren't saying you were in uni to piss around, but majority of people at uni I've spoke to aren't sure what they want to do when finished at uni. I want to become a Sports Journalism, always have and so far always will, but in this day and age its not the same as it was a couple of years ago. The fact that people are being told to get masters now to distinguish themselves from the ever increasin average joe with a degree says it all. I did my work experience too but I can honestly say that the work experience was not that much useful. I never really learned anything from the 12 weeks I did (6 weeks per year) to what I already knew. You have to admit people go uni just to escape getting a real job, if I knew that I could have got into journalism earlier if I did it another way I'd certainly preferred to do that. Your friends may be working, but they're getting paid for it. A couple of my friends have already bought themselves a house, they never went uni but went straight into work at 16. Sure it was tough for them back then, especially when they saw us lot at college not doing anything all day, but I'm sure they're the ones laughing now. Especially when I don't think I'll ever be able to get on the house market and while paying off my debts the money which will go on rent will be dead money.
  5. You have got to be kiddin me He better get a decent run out as he's the only reason I'm going...
  6. To be honest, as much as I was almost dancing around with the delight after watchin the interviews I thought I'd say that my opinion of Jamie Carragher has risen dramatically. He took the defeat very well and never went down the Arsenal route of blaming everyone but themselves and even admitted that you have to give credit to Milan and they deserved it. Much respect as I'm sure it would have been easier to moan.
  7. I would if I were you. I'd go straight into work from 16 if I could go back. Degrees mean naff all nowadays, too many people have them. It makes it worse imo when people go to uni just to get a degree rather than go into uni to further there chance of getting into the profession they want to get into. And in all honesty, the return you get for being in uni isn't half as good as what I expected. I got mounting debts where as some of my mate (ok not that intelligent ones) are already on the property ladder with a nice car and making a nice little living. Where as I'm broke, by the time I finish uni I'll be 20 grand in debt, plus I've been told that to get anywhere nowadays you need a masters. Sod that off for fishcakes, I'm not doing 6 years in Journalism studies with three journalism qualifications, no sir, no thank you. Wouldnt' mind but the modules we are doing, over half of them are a waste of time as it';s nothing to do with the course I'm doing. Fucking ridicilous this university malarky, get yaself a nice job with a good company and your sorted...
  8. lol, I can't remember. I've had it for years but think I got it off kazaa or a similiar programme to that.
  9. I got it on my computer so I just tranferred it over to the phone
  10. Yeah I distrust these Brazilian footballers. Aren't Peles records questioned? As when he scored when he was young they never wrote down the goalscorer just the score but Pele has claimed almost all the goals during that time?
  11. Calls - Z-cars. Text - A clip from Daffy Duck.
  12. Didn't Blackburn pass on the chance to sign Zidane? Also didn't Doncaster release Kevin Keegan? I aslo heard that Rooney was released for being too fat but then his mum came down and kicked off. Not sure if that last one is true though...
  13. I didn't judge the whole thing on the starting 11. You have to look on the squad on a whole, and atm they have the better squad imo. They have more appeal to bigger players. Not only cos of the amount of cash they have compared to us but also the location could sway a players decision if it was between us and them. At the moment they have the edge, but things can change.
  14. Definately think Spurs. They have more money, and in a way more attractive to big players.
  15. Yeah, a group of us got tickets for a fiver so gonna be catching the train up.
  16. Lol, no one really gave you any advice tbh. But, 1GB RAM extra RAM should be more than efficient
  17. TrueBlue

    Kopite Party

Lol, heard that but it had the slant of the boy having sex with one of his teachers... The Dad really pleased..and then the pun came in :-S Think I prefer the Redshite one though
  18. I was 50/50 with this one, not sure I liked it or I hated it. It was good but think it was rather forgettable.
  19. Never even thought of milk :-S If you don't want to go to the extremes of dog shit, a frozen fish is just as successful
  20. I haven't done this, but I know someone who didn't get along with one of his housemates really badly. So my mate used the other guys toothbrush to clean the toilet...then he put it back where it was.
  21. They were awesome them Pat, cheers. It's certainly a great start to the day
  22. Well he's not on about 3D Pinball, Solitaire or Freecell, so the game must have been installed by Mike, thats why I asked what type of game it is. Also, I was referring to a modern game as a game made in the past 4 years or so. An example of this is Star Wars: Knights of the Old Republic. A great game by the way, but it was made in 2003 and the bare minimum requirement is 256mb RAM. When I played this with the 256mb RAM on my comp it was so choppy when in large spaces, it became solid to even move as I'd jump from one end of the map to another. As soon as I improved it, it was much better. I also have another game where I had enough RAM but my graphics card was awful. This led to the game being unplayable but a new graphics card sorted that and it worked fine.
  23. It also depends on what game you are trying to play. Of course 256mb is below the minimum RAM for most new games now. It also depends on what graphics card is built into the laptop as this would give you a lot of issues if it's not a very good one. I'm not a whizz on computers but found those two things effected my computer massively, had to improve them both before being able to play modern games on it properly.
  24. Same here Mark, you know that most people are just banging at the doors of the club shop to get their shirts with 6 Times on their shirt. If it was any other English team against AC Milan I'd happily want the English team to win, but knowing how bad winners Liverpool fans are, I'm not wanting them to ram it down our throats at every possibility so... Forza Rossoneri!!
