Aye, but least it was still a bloody good season, think I would have been a little bit disappointed with 7th as 6th sounds so much better So much better celebrating a fine season than drowning the sorrows of a bad one...even the whiskey has made an appearence already
  2. Think there are other priorites before another MC, plus how the hell is he going to afford Jenas and Fernandes. Where does Cahill fit in that line up, there aren't any natuaral wingers so pretty pointless midfield and I just don't think Jenes is a good enough player.
  3. Where about in 'boro are you living? There are some rough places but places like Marton aint that bad. Used to love Monday nights at the crown a couple of years ago but last couple times I've been it doesn't seem like the place it once was...
  4. Jenas?!? Wouldn't want him here, I don't rate him at all...
  5. Certainly a lot better than I was expecting at the beginning of the season... Think our season starts as soon as the transfer window opens as we need some more depth...
  6. Love it when underdogs win like that, plus I really dislike Barcelona alot (don't ask me why just never liked them)
  7. Sorry to hear the terrible news Claire, my deepest sympathies go out to you and your family.
  8. 1. Who has been your best player? Lescott, been as solid and although he's not a left back he doesn't look out of place there. 2. And the worst? Unfortunately got to say Beattie, although Osman hasn't been performing any way near what he used too. 3. Who would you be glad to see the back of? There's a few but Dickie Wright is the one I'm most looking forward to of getting rid. 4. What was your best performance? Has to be Liverpool but also the Arsenal game was one I really enjoyed 5. And the worst? Got to be the Blackburn cup game 6. Who have been your toughest opponents? Has to be Man United 7. Best individual faced? Can't really think of one individual who stood out against us, but if they mean the best player on a whole then it's got to be Ronaldo. 8. Funniest/most bizarre moment of the season? Two things, Mark Lawrence's ridiculous comments/jokes on motd that the other two don't get which means there's complete silence and David Pleats woeful commentating, especially on names such as "Peter Berbtov". How he's still got a job I don't know. 9. Your perfect, but realistic, signing in Summer? I don't care who we buy as long as we get a decent left back. 10. Any reasons to be cheerful going into next season? We're basically in Europe, we look like we're becoming a very good team. 11. Reasons to be gloomy? The lack of depth after our first 11 12. Overall assessment of your manager? Another good season of his which seems so far to have quietened his critics. Still learning so hopefully can only get better. 13. And overall assessment of team? Great, some players have really proven themselves such as Carsley and Stubbs, who I admit I wasn't a fan off put he proved me wrong. Don't think they'll be as influential next season as still think we need to replace Carsley but after the amount of criticism I've given him I certainly had egg on my face. Other young players have come on leaps and bounds, it's certainly looking bright. 14. Marks out of ten? 9
  9. To be honest I don't think it's a good idea. I'm not a smoker myself but am from a family where only me and my dad don't smoke. I know for a fact that these new rules, which aim to force people to quit, are not going to make anyone of my family stop. Obviously, it would be nice for people to quit but think this is going to cause more trouble than it's worth. As Louis says, the Government pretty much live off people paying stupidly high taxes on ciggies so it seems they're shootin themselves in the foot with this one. I fear, as people smoke less and less, the Government will put the taxes up on alcohol to stop the 'binge drinking culture' when in fact it's just a smoke screen (pun not intended) to get the money back from the loss of funding through people smoking.
  10. Looks like the snakes mouth was sewn shut, well thats what most people say in the comments, and it certainly seems like that. Bit disturbing really.
  11. Hope she is found ok, thoughts go out to the family. I, just like most, can't understand paedophiles whatsoever. It's bad enough they snatch a child from a family but to do the other stuff I still and probably will never get my head around. Think every convicted paedophile should have their arms and downstairs removed.

I'm suspecting Dunny to be a close relative to Beattie
  13. Lol, it was posted on another forum guys, it must be true Tim Cahill wondering what it'd be like to play for Liverpool, haha, don't make me laugh.
  14. I remember breaking 4 bones in my left foot, my dad refused to take me to the hospital for a week. I was in agony but he thought it was only a bruise on the bone. It was only my mum forcing him to take me that we went. Still gives me trouble from time to time as well.
  15. Was going to use the Peterborough example... Anyway, the cup weakened side is a totally different issue. I think it's more disrespectful to field a weak side against a low league club but I'm not going into that topic
  16. He also done the "I got locked up. They won't let me out" *cell door slamming* song
  17. Don't think he means it in that context Mike, more of one that he goes round in interviews etc claiming he is a muslim but obviously doesn't go about adhering to the rules of the religion. However, cos I'm not all that knowledgable on the rules of the faith and in no mind to go do some research it could be making an excuse for Akon. As hes not broken any muslim rules so therefore its only in the western view of things that he has done something wrong. Not sure though, either way its about time singers and rappers are dealt with regarding these issues as its happened a few times with no action taken against these people who obviously take advantage of their money and power over girls.
  18. Yes, but at the beginning of the season if a team played a few youngsters nothing was said, it's just that it's a big deal now. Don't recall anything being said earlier in the season...why all the talk now? As I said, of course I'd be pissed off if we were in Wigans position but I still stand by the fact that teams have to look out for themselves rather than other teams. I don't see it against the ethics of the game as they aren't going out to lose, and Liverpool didn't want to lose as now third place is still up for grabs. Teams have to test out youngsters at some stage or another, people need to be giving chances to prove themselves if they haven't had many games. When the season is wrapped up, like Man Utds is, it's the ideal time for them to test out youngsters. Maybe not play a complete 11 but certainly try out a few players to see if they are good enough and give possible future 1st teamers some vital experience. If they can't do it now, when can they do it? So how would you feel if a star player for us got injured in what is essentially a nothing game when we have a CL final in a couple of weeks?
  19. If we had gone down a couple of years ago because a team, say Arsenal, fielded a weakened team then of course I'd be pissed at Arsenal and probably would be for a long time. However, the fault isn't completely Arsenal's. It's the whole season that determines if a team goes down not the last game of the season. Now put the other shoe on...if we were in the CL final and DM played our strongest team in the Premier League and say one of the star players gets injured, would you not be pissed that DM decided to play our best team in a match that didn't mean that much. Or say we were in Fulhams situation, and we played a weakened Arsenal side would you still be moaning. If Man U did it against West Ham then fair enough imo. The youngsters needs first team experience. So you need to test young players would you not agree? Surely when we started playing Anichebe and Vaughn they weren't our strongest players available so would that mean teams have a right to complain about us? Still think my point about Liverpool only playing two youngsters stands. The other players are hardly weak players so can't see why other teams can complain about Liverpools selection against Fulham.
  20. Talk about jinxing a player before a game...
  21. Lol, it's always nice to read stuff like that...
  22. I honestly don't see a problem with playing a weakened side. I hardly think, as someone has already said, that teams can moan about one game out of 38 and try and blame where they are because of that. Also, Liverpool wouldn't have done that if it wasn't neccessary, they are still fighting for third place so it was a gamble on their part which didn't pay off. Plus, I'm confused with all this talk of a weakened side, of course it wasn't Liverpools best 11 but it was hardly a weak side. I could only see 2 players (youngsters who need the first team experience) who probably haven't played more many games for the club and also Robbie Fowler isn't the man he used to be. So that's a maximum of three players I see that aren't good enough of being in the strong Liverpool line up. Think the lesser clubs are just clutching at straws trying to shift the blame to other clubs.
  23. I don't like it, as Dunny says it's "very similiar to the England shirt." I detest the England shirt and looks like I won't like this one. Although want to see it in person before I choose to buy it or not.
