  1. If you just have a little look again you'll see that's not what I said.... If you're going to accuse me of talking shite then at least address what I said, not what you think I said .
  2. Bolton beat Man City yesterday and Fulham beat Arsenal earlier in the season, so if we're relegation candidates for struggling to beat them that must make City and the Arse certainties for the drop. Who do you expect to go down with them ?
  3. When it came down to it (as far as Hamilton knew) he had a two lap race against Vettel to win the championship and he lost it. Shows a serious failing somewhere, that's two years running he'd have thrown it away if Glock could have just kept going. But as his dad said, "I believed in God. I believed that right would come through." Divine interevention then .
  4. ...and it was Vettel who got past Hamilton on the track....two laps from the end. Glock at no time held Hamilton off....neither did Vettel come to that....Hamilton seemed to have no pace.
  5. Intersting point of view dark.....but that wasn't what happened .
  6. Performances may not have been great, but given the results all around us over the week-end we're right back at the sharp end. Only a point away from where we were last season, defence looking stronger as a unit (although Lescott still in fairyland for some reason), two consecutive clean sheets and I think we should maybe look again at the seven points we got from the trips to the promoted teams. In the light of how all three of them are performing I don't think there are many clubs who'll get the same return. Fellaini's coming good, Saha's off the mark, Howard's looking his old self....I think if we can just click into gear going forward we'll be on our way again. Watch out West Ham !
  7. Hell of a finish....was quite excitable for a couple of laps at the end there....gutted when they passed Glock. Lucky, lucky lad....playing it safe very nearly cost him.
  8. Risky strategy as well...more cars potentially around him and one spin and he's fcked.... ....having said that he's gonna cruise to it barring mechanical issues .
  9. Glock tight up behind him though...could go all the way. Kovavlainen's not a lot of help to him .
  10. OK here's a question. Given that F1 bosses have said that the new World Champ's father gets to wave the chequered flag today (LINK) what's going to happen if Massa's leading into the final lap, Hamilton fifth with Alonso half a second behind in sixth? Mr Massa and Mr Hamilton have tug-off ( ) to see who gets to hold the flag ? One thing that's pissing me off more than a little is the huge deal being made (on 5live this morning for eg) that Hamilton's "black," and what a great thing it'll be for the black community if he wins it. Firstly he's about as far removed from what they mean when they say black community (inner city, gang ghetto stuff) as Michael Jackson is. And secondly he's mixed race....his mother's white. If people started going on about what a great thing it would be for the "white" community if he won there'd be uproar and screams of racism. Anyway. my last word on the matter....may the best Brazilian win (though I'm fairly confident Lewis will do it).
  11. Extremely good film....seen it several times.
  12. The forecast is an 80% chance of rain though. Could make it a bit of a lottery. I'll be celebrating at the end whatever the result....the fact that it's the last race on ITV is reason enough for me.
  13. Results went our way this afternoon....still seventh .
  14. Haha...Massa on pole, Hamilton fourth with Alonso on his gearbox in sixth. Fernando forgets where his brake pedal is in the first corner....game over .
  15. Who brought Saha on then ?
  16. Ray Stubbs just gave the final score as 1-1.....nearly had a heart attack....slip of the tongue fortunately . Not good, but six points and two clean sheets in the last two games. Settle for that, still a lot of things need to be sorted but the table doesn't lie and (for a bit) we're up to seventh.
  17. The masseur needs to do another job on the lads by the look of it .

  19. Lively start according to the beeb.... 9:33 Steven Pienaar takes a shot. Save by Mark Schwarzer. 1:07 Aaron Hughes gives away a free kick for an unfair challenge on Ayegbeni Yakubu. Free kick crossed right-footed by Mikel Arteta from left wing, Aaron Hughes manages to make a clearance. ....did everyone sit down for a cup of tea for eight minutes ? Edit: Sounds like the crowd have....is there anybody there?
  20. Howard, Neville, Yobo, Jagielka, Lescott, Arteta, Osman, Fellaini, Pienaar, Cahill, Yakubu. Subs: Nash, Hibbert, Baines, Saha, Vaughan, Rodwell, Anichebe.
  21. Can someone please tell me if there's a more pointless bit of sporting "action" than a rugby league scrum ?
  22. The really interesting stat (that I just saw Rhino quoting on the OS) is that, despite the dreadful start we've had, we're only a point behind where we were after ten games last season . Decent run and we're right back in it.
