  1. Funny the timing of Liverpool supporters coming out of the woodwork . They've hit a little patch of form and matched us for the first time in four months and whoooooosh, faster than a speeding bullet. The fact is that we (and Clattenberg) gave them a significant head start. After ten games they were unbeaten and had twenty points, we had thirteen. They dismiss our current position as, "a decent run of form that has seen you go level with us on points," but that decent run of form has been going on for more than four months now. More than a run imo. We'd have settled for fifth at the start of the season, we're in a very close contest for fourth....not favourites, as DM rightly says (no mind games, just realism...look at the bookies odds). Liverpool wouldn't have settled for fourth at the start of the season. Incidentally, just out of interest, points won after the first ten games. Chelsea have played seventeen, the rest all eighteen... ManU 41 Chelsea 40 Everton 40 Arsenal 39 Liverpool 33
  2. Goof grief here we go...where did I say that exactly? Anyway..next three games Liverpool play Newcastle, reading and ManU.. While we play Sunderland, Fulham and Wham. So form would suggest that we'll go to Anfield in fourth place, may not happen that way but that would be favourite. Still in our own hands, but Liverpool can say the same thing. Good stuff .
  3. Don't think it'll make any difference to the result tbh.
  4. Full strength again tonight... 25 Reina 17 Arbeloa 37 Skrtel 23 Carragher 06 Riise 08 Gerrard 20 Mascherano 14 Alonso 19 Babel 18 Kuyt 09 Torres Can't really expect them to drop any points from the next three games, home to Wham, Newcastle and Reading. We're just gonna have to keep winning ourselves .
  5. I've shifted all the stuff from when this topic went into a parallel universe into "Introductions."

    Think I'm being groomed .
  7. When you put it like that JD, sounds easy....bring on Bayern !!! Pleased to see btw that we're on ITV again instead of Five. Slightly annoying that we're on ITV4 while Spurts are on ITV1, surely on all the evidence so far us v Fiorentina is more attractive than them v PSV? Caught the BBC "Let's show 'Boro as the live match" stupidity .
  8. Had half an eye on it, pretty impressive stuff. Nice also to give the English a bit of a psychological advantage over the Italians before Thursday. They can have their revenge at the San Siro next week .
  9. The best (and weirdest) one for me was when I went out to get a paper on Saturday 9th September 2006, popped into Tony Pryce Sports (which is a south-west only chain of ten shops) in Tiverton and was stunned to see an away shirt, in my size, among the usual "big" four stacked shelves. It was a sign I felt sure so I bought it (over list price from memory) and six or seven hours later me and the shirt were celebrating the 3-0 win over Liverpool . Proved to me that there if there is a God, he's a blue .
  10. Reminds me that last season I got the previous years (05/06) 2nd (yellow) and 3rd (grey) shirt for me plus second for Josh for £10 each in Taunton. They had shed-loads of them. Just shows extremely poor stock control really, though I was happy at the time and it's the only season when we both ended up with the full set .
  11. http://news.bbc.co.uk/sport1/hi/football/europe/7277981.stm Can't see any too serious consequences (unless it's UEFA preparing the ground to keep us out in case we qualify for the Champs league and Liverpool don't) but we could do without it. I think I'm only joking there....

Yes, I know who Red Star are... ...no I didn't.. ....now I do .
  13. Me also, extremely limited availability at two JJB shops in Exeter and one in Taunton. Short sleeve home shirt in one or two sizes if you're lucky.
  14. Agreed, as long as it's plain chocolate . Almond croissant too mmmmmmmm. Mark, if you're reading this get back to fucking work!!
  15. Are you mad ! Chocolate marzipan every time .
  16. Don't be ridiculous. If intelligent people say sensible things we listen whoever they happen to support. Likewise we take no notice of Evertonians when they talk crap, you should know that by now.....Reg. And what's a caftard?
  17. Tonight on BBC Radio 5, from 11:00-ish, an Evertonian will be on the station, to defend Tim Cahill's actions after scoring the goal v Portsmouth. Harry Harris from the Daily Express will argue that it was distasteful. How anyone from the Daily Express can be a judge of "good taste" is frankly beyond me . Make Ghengis Khan appear like a wooly minded liberal. Should be interesting though .

    No....who are they?

    Portsmouth

Just realised Redknapp stopped his "spitting the dummy" refusal to talk to the BBC on Sunday. Talked a load of crap, "Couldn't see us getting beat at half time, I wouldn't have taken a draw....thought we could win the game," but at least he talked .
  20. ....good one....I like this! "...it is tempting to speculate how many Evertonians would make a Merseyside select XI; based on form this season, they may even comprise a majority."
  21. Good points JD. Looking at a comparison to 04/05 after twenty-eight games we had 51points (W15-D6-L7 GF34 A29) Two points less than today (16-5-7). Very similar records apart from the fact that our goal difference is now 22 rather than 5. Back then we stumbled over the line after winning just three and drawing one of the final ten....that ain't gonna happen this time for sure! Think it may have been said in one or two other places on here recently but it bears repeating... It's a bloody great time to be an Evertonian !!!
  22. Update on this . "We could be sitting in Third!" http://www.rightresult.net/
  23. And I get yours Liam . Back on topic it's blinding to have him back on form. All players at full potential we're invincible at the moment, bring on the Italians!!!
  24. I've got no problem with TC doing it at all, just disagree with comments like.. "His family have been through hell..." ...seemingly without a thought for the victim. Josh got beaten up coming home from school last week, the lad's mother came to see us over the week-end and she's obviously going through rough time (police involved, son excluded from school) but I'd find it hard to sympathise with her tbh. (way :offtopic: I know, but it explains why my impeccable liberal credentials have slipped a bit)
