Really? I've lived here all these years and never realized it? I love lamb and often choose it when eating out. I thought everyone was looking at me because I'm just so good looking, but maybe it was the lamb.
If the score is 2-1, you get a point for predicting 1-0, 3-2, or 4-3, for example, because the goal difference is the same: +1. You don't get any points, though, for predicting 0-1, 1-2, 2-3, or 3-4. That's a goal difference of -1.
Good try, though.
As already noted, Romey scored the first 10-pointer of the season - albeit we all wish he hadn't. He won this week's contest by a large margin and, of course, leads the month of October by the same margin. MikeO is tied with him for the season lead, since Mogsy paid the price for failing to make a prediction. Still, the latter leads in average points per prediction. Note: I've included people in the "average points" list only if they have made at least 3 predictions.
What's really exciting is that both Garbutt and Browning had great debuts, and Galloway is waiting in the wings. Over the next decade, we could have a phenomenal mostly home-grown defence.
Very interesting that Martinez sees Stones as a future captain. In many ways, McCarthy is the engine of the team, yet it would seem his personality is not suited to captaincy. Martinez appears to believe that captains are to some extent born that way.
I'd like to see essentially the same team - but with Oviedo starting instead of McGeady and Barry instead of Gibson. This might also be a good game for Kone to make an appearance as sub.
PS - I just clicked Like instead of Save. Any way I can undo that? I didn't even realize I could like my own post!
They must be crazy. Surely all their efforts have to be focused on getting back into Europe. Playing friendlies won't help meet that goal, will threaten their ability to perform in league games, and risk players to injury - unless they simply plan on playing a reserve team.
As a matter of interest, how did the Protestant-Catholic associations with Rangers and Celtic come into being in the first place? Are there any parallels with Liverpool and Everton? I've not heard of similar associations in other two-team cities: Bristol, Sheffield, Nottingham, etc.
