  1. "Quite a bit of interest from a few clubs." Do we know who? I've read that he could be a makeweight for the McCarthy deal but seen nothing else.
  2. Kevin Palmer on ESPN: "Baines seems to be off the agenda now. I would still think Fellaini is possible, but the Herrera deal seems to be their priority."
  3. I think it must have been this one - "could pay" and not "have bid".
  4. Oh geez. I've read so many articles today - I shall have to retrace my steps! Was it the Daily Fail?
  5. Not so sure. If seems that ManU is now offering 20m for Baines.
  6. So how exactly would he fit into the squad? As a full international, he'd only come if a regular starter, right?
  7. Even with 40% off his wages, he'd still be at 75k/week. Just not worth it.
  8. Now there's a stat for those, including many media commentators this weekend, who believe that Martinez will fail to maintain the excellent defensive record of Moyes - although it is true that we've hardly faced the most potent forward lines in the league.
  9. Are you sure? I can find no such report. If not, he's still in play.
  10. Excellent again! Where do you find your stats? Shot accuracy dipped this weekend, and it would be interesting to know who is the guilty culprit.
  11. Maybe Heitinga will be part of the deal. He wants to return to Holland, after all.
  12. Paul? Now that would increase the average age of the team!
  13. It's a valid question. I'd say there are two answers: 1) He has been considered by other teams. Indeed, he's been on ManU's radar in the event they could not get Fellaini. 2) He's wanted to rejoin RM since the latter joined the Everton team and, behind the scenes, I'm sure he's made his preferences clear.
  14. His team selection seemed odd. The strategy appeared to be, again, not to lose - and once Liverpool scored there was no backup plan. ManU really appear to be missing Rooney, and their midfield is woefully inadequate right now. For Moyes to claim this was their best game so far and to suggest he needs to bring in no new players was to bury his head in the sand. He's going to go all out now to get both Fellaini and Baines - and we should make decent money from the deal. The game today really shows why DM can never beat top teams, let alone Liverpool. You can't go into such games with a negative approach: You have to play to win.
  15. With only three games played, I disagree with this. Look at ManU. In their first game, they won 4-1. When you look at the stats, though, the score did not reflect the balance of play. This has become evident in their most recent two game - no goals and just one point. Over the longer term, the number of goals for and against reflect the more fundamental stats - pass completion, chances created, amount of possession - so that's what we should continue to focus on.
  16. I drew the same conclusion as you initially, but then I read that it's a midfielder. Similar but different spelling.
  17. Lingard, not Lindegaard. Jesse Lingard is a midfielder who plays for the England U-21s.
  18. The Mirror is reporting a 36m deal for Fellaini, with Lingard coming to Everton in a season-long loan. If that number is correct, it's quite extraordinary.
  19. 1) One another's - not each other's 2) other's - not others 3) a missing full stop This silly game could go on for days. I thought the topic was Kone.
  20. You're on - but let's make it a little more believable.
  21. At least we remain unbeaten.
  22. We are putting on so much pressure. Their defending is becoming desperate.
  23. Really really unfortunate slip.
