  1. G´day to ya blue.......Welcome Love your avatar though I would put the figure a bit higher.....
  2. I will be going to the Almeria v Levante match later and Levante have a player called Andreas Ivanschitz.. Hope he lives up to his name!!!
  3. Mourinho said in his press conference today that he can´t and won´t be recalling Lukaku on January
  4. Barry was so good we didn´t miss Fellaini at all. A superb performance on his debut. A steadying influence from such an experienced old head. Perhaps it is not insignificant that Mourinho´s last league loss as Chelsea boss was against Villa in 2007 when Barry played for Villa.
  5. There was an interesting article on the BBC website yesterday about the cost of watching football in the UK. It made very interesting reading and made me realise that if I was to return I probably wouldn´t be able to afford to go every week. My season ticket at Almeria cost 290€ but having said that tickets for the home game against Barcelona at the end of the month are going on general sale next week at between 150 and 190€. So it is cheaper to watch in Spain but to get tickets to watch the "big two" clubs do rip fans off.
  6. Deulofeu had a superb game for Spain Under 21 last night. He set up 2 goals and was unlucky not to score twice himself in a 4-0 win over Albania
  7. I know. I was speaking as a Welshman and disappointed by their behaviour. Not like the rugby fans at all.
  8. I used to live in Wrexham and find this sort of news disappointing and disturbing. I thought this kind of behaviour had been eradicated from the English game. i must admit that I have not been to game in UK for a number of years now and just watch via Sky or Internet.
  9. Almeria FC was founded in 1989 and has spent most of its life in the lower reaches of Spanish football. They firts gained promotion to the Primera Liga in 2007 and spent 4 seasons at the top. They regained their position via the play offs last season. Almeria´s ground was built for the Mediterranean Games held in 2004 and has a capacity of 15000. Because of the long period spent in the 2nd Division the fiercest rivalry is between our 2 most geographical neighbours Real Murcia and Caratgena (the latter are in 2nd Division B - the third tier.) But this season there are 5 teams from Andalucia in the Primera Liga - Almeria, Granada, Malaga, Real Betis, and Sevilla and the rivalry between all 5 is very keen. This season up front we have Rodri a signing from Barcelona B who last season was on loan at Sheffield Wednesday. He already has 3 League goals.
  10. From last week´s game v Elche I was very impressed by their midfield star. One to note Carles Gil a 20 year old left-footed playmaker in midfield who would do well in any league. RM please take note lol
  11. Great Idea Mike and Matt. As I have already posted in my intro page the season so far for Almeria I will keep you informed here of our progress or lack of......... Anyway I am glad it has cooled down here at no more than 32 degrees as the last 2 home league kick offs have been 10p.m. and 11 p.m.
  12. Thanks all for the welcome. Almeria have had an in and out start to the season 2 points from 3 matches.... a 2-3 defeat and two 2-2 draws. but in all 3 matches they were 2-1 up with 7 minutes to go. They have played some excellent football but the defence is going to be the big let down this season. It will be interesting to see how one of our ex-players fares in the Premiership.....Alvaro Negredo. he is still worshipped here. I think RM and BK are to be applauded on the transfer window. Martinez said we would come out stronger and looking at the squad I think he is right. Really excited about Lukaku. I think he is just what we need. Deulofeu may still need a bit more time but I remember the first game of last season at home to Barcelona B in the second division. He was unplayable that day and scored a hat-trick in a 5-4 win for them.
  13. I´m glad I live in Spain or we could have the first case of the fan hitting the shit.......
  14. Hope RM and BK have other rabbits in their hats or I can see this window ending in disaster. Only saving grace may be if we keep hold of Baines.
  15. Ever get the feeling this was a smokescreen to get Whelan to move and lower the asking price on McCarthy?
  16. Fernando Francisco Reges (born 25 July 1987 in Alto Paraíso de Goiás), simply Fernando, is a Portuguese-Brazilian professional footballer who plays for F.C. Porto, in Portugal, as a defensive midfielder. He is nicknamed 'Polvo', which translates as “The Octopus” In June 2007, Fernando signed a five-year contract with F.C. Porto directly from the Brazilian third division, having started his career at Vila Nova Futebol Clube.[1] However, he spent his first year in Portugal loaned toC.F. Estrela da Amadora, where he was first-choice. In 2008–09, returned to Porto, Fernando was an everpresent midfield fixture alongside established Raul Meireles and Lucho González, as the northerners achieved a fourth-consecutive league accolade. . Fernando was in Brazil U-20's squad at the 2007 South American Youth Championship, which the nation won, but was not included for the subsequent competition in the category, the 2007 FIFA U-20 World Cup. After continuous exclusions from the Brazilian National Team, Fernando is finally to play for Portugal as he now holds Portuguese citizenship after spending over five years in Portugal.
  17. Bill Open the drinks cabinet and open that bottle of port NOW!!!!!!!!!
  18. Seeing as we are desparate for a regular goalscorer and can´t see the strikers we got getting 20-25 goals between them. Wouldn´t be surprised to see RM go to Blackburn for Jordan Rhodes. 5m + Anichebe should seal the deal.
  19. But as a striker he is in the team to score goals and he will not get 3 better chances all season
  20. Certainly too late to spend 38M in this window and doubt whether the quality will be available in January
  21. Pretty much agree with everything in Romey´s post. Especially about Kone. Some of the chances especially first half were misses you wouldn´t expect to see in a Sunday League game. Worst performance from a blue No 9 in a long long time. FFS I was even calling for Jelavic to be brought on. Think it also showed how much Fellaini and Baines will be missed if they do move on.
