Spot on MikeO. The Suarez situation should set precedent. If he would have left to arsenal it wS 40m, by holding onto him while letting the world know he would be sold in the summer it increased competition for him. Wound up at barca for 75m. We need to follow that. He could go to Real Madrid or bayern for 60m in the summer, or PSG. No need to sell now.

exactly. look at how Soton do business, they announce a player and they ahve signed, work permit, pics with the chairmen, etc. there is no "we're signing them", and then no permit or they deny terms or someone else swoops in to get them. they announce a done deal or don't, and they get those players in.

back to the lineup real quick i've thought we have a solid bench (barring CB's) and i'm confident if only a couple starters played that we would still do well. Gerry ossie and Besic all have something to prove as does Robles.

I'm not so sure Suarez had a release clause. What pad is talking about is right. Look at bayern and gotze. They bid the release clause it was activated he agreed and Dortmund were powerless to stop it.

Stones played in the English championship which is probably a level higher than Uruguay top flight. I was happy with stones, Moyes knows defenders.
