  1. thanks for the history mike. yes the purple pink i get, and to your argument you're right that could be considered a shade of red, fair enough. i think for me "red devils" with a blue kit is just non-sense, but like you said they've done it for a while so it's normal for them. yeah i remember looking at all the kits through time and remember the red one and liverpool had a blue, funny really i guess.
  2. we don't have a sporting director, they are the ones who deal with the transfers and valuations, so in liew of that, you all believe the manager has nothing to do with it and it's the agent and board? either sports team in england are run ass backwards (or just everton) or the manager has some sway with the board as to who to get and for how long and for how much. so roberto says sign lennon (oh wait you guys said the board does all this, so they tell RM who they are going to sign? BS i say) and just hopes and prays BK doesn't pay 15m for him and ruin the budget? BS. he tells him I want him but if I only have 15m i need another 7m for this spaniard, so 8m tops for lennon. again if there is a sporting director this wouldn't happen because they do all that, but I refuse to believe RM just asks and whatever price and contract length and everything the board deem as OK he just takes as alright. that is ridiculous.
  3. LOL that is hilarious mike!! yes i agree you would think the pollsters would have a better grasp on things since it is their livelihood.
  4. the managers tell the board what is a decent price and what's not. BK isn't a talent evaluator, he just does what RM tells him to do and trys to make the best deals within those parameters. he's an impressario, what the hell does he know about player valuations? come on matt and romey, moyes said "this would be ample, this is too much, this is too little, but use your judgement and go from there". there is no way in hell he said "BK sell rooney" and BK just started quoting figures and negotiating, no way.
  5. they are the red devils are they not? it's just stupid. like man city having an off red kit, why would you have a kit the color of many of your enemies (chelsea, man city, everton)? i would be livid if everton came out with a red kit, i hate that color.
  6. i understand romey and said this has been discussed ad naseum here, but to think Moyes best mate SAF and their relationship didn't have anything to do with it is just being naive.
  7. i heard a great interview today on NPR why an English "expert" believes the pollsters were so wrong in thinking Labour had a chance. He said being conservative in England is considered boring and not cool, so a lot of people vote conservative but won't admit it because English people are supposed to be progressive and all that and they don't want to not fit in. thoughts?
  8. i agree but rooney was sold for way too little, it has been talked about ad nauseum here but he gave SAF a discount for a reason. RM will not do this.
  9. Looks like England is turning into America, the right wing nuts taking over. Time for us all to move to Denmark, happiest country in the world statistically. 33 hour work week sounds nice
  10. this is one of the places I truely believe and trust Roberto. Moyes would give in to the big boys demands all day long because he wanted their letter of recommendation for a bigger job. Roberto does not. He didn't sell Barkley last summer when it was the hot topic, and I don't believe he will sell Stones this summer. Will they be sold eventually, possibly, but unlike Moyes he wants to keep his best players.
  11. that means sitting barry and besic and howard. which i have done up top.
  12. we're not going to do the man united and have a kit of the color opposite us? i hate that they have a blue kit, disgrace. might as well just have one in every color by that logic.
  13. i'm with crusty, i don't think GK is the more important position on the pitch, but it's an extremely important one. Marshalls the defense and keeps them in position and defends the goal. 2 large duties there, and Howard is just past it, but RM has spoken so the only thing we can hope for is an injury and Robles gets a full run out with the Griffiths or Stindrich lads backup.
  14. Not necessarily what I want but what I believe will happen. Out - Distin, Alcaraz, Hibbert In - Lennon, Creative Midfielder, Veteran CB we will keep and play pienaar, osman, mcgeady, kone, barry, howard, and the rest of the dead wood.
  15. everything i can find says he's a defensive mid, even on a free we don't need more of those, already have mccarthy and besic and besic never even plays.
  16. he's signed with man united. http://www.espnfc.us/#story/2438138/man-united-agree-memphis-depay-deal
  17. with memphis agreeing a deal with man united, he is further down the pecking order. this looks more likely than before.
  18. yes i know now not to take them seriously, but the valuation is what interests me, it will be very very intersting if we sign him and for how much.
  19. matt in your opinion what are 123 priorities? not fishing for an argument, just want to hear what you think needs improved.
  20. http://www.espnfc.us/everton/story/2438134/tim-howard-to-stay-everton-no-1-as-roberto-martinez-content tim is here to stay, sadly.
  21. http://www.espnfc.us/barclays-premier-league/story/2438152/aaron-lennon-welcome-to-stay-at-everton-on-permanent-deal now it's 9m. first it was 6, then 10, now 9, the summer will be interesting.
  22. Playing for 9th place now, to be in the top 10 would be nice and net us more money. Sunderland will play with a lot of heart just like Villa since they are in the relegation mix. Robles Coleman Stones Jags Baines McCarthy Barkley Lennon Osman Mirallas Lukaku
  23. each team uses their own balls mike. the colts footballs were regulation weight. this whole thing is just media hype. the green bay QB aaron rodgers says he tells them to pump his up as much as they can go (there's a too low limit, not too much limit) because he has huge hands and likes that grip. a lower pressure football by 1 psi (pound per square inch) will not make a difference.
  24. both of messi's goals were amazing. beat neuer near post with the first, just had so much speed he couldn't do anything. the second was a work of art. made boateng (a great defender) look like a school boy and then chipped neuer, he is amazing to watch.
