  1. I have to add Jags to this list. I remember when he first played after joining and he was played in midfield and he was terrible. Definitely not a midfielder and glad that was sorted out from the start.
  2. I just get very frustrated with him during games Well we paid 3M as a loan fee for the season and if any deal was to be done then the price we pay has to take that into account. Overall package of no more than 18M. so 12M with a further 3M based on performance. I can see him going to Dortmund though.
  3. Had to watch this game late last night and that was a fantastic performance last night. Could have been different if Newcastle had taken their couple of chances in the first few mins. The players have put in the performances that now set the platform for a push on the Champions League place in the home stretch and if you had offered me that at the beginning of the season I'd have bitten your hand off for the opportunity. Yes, it's Everton and we tend to disappoint but in the past under the old management we would never have won 3-0 away to Newcastle with that kind of attacking intent. At least we can dream. Looking at the games left the Arsenal and City games are key and with Arsenal having a case of the wobbles we can begin to dream, and I'll take that.
  4. Have to agree. Was hoping that McGeady or Miralles would be used in place of Osman as a statement of intent.
  5. Doesn't he also have a bit of an attitude?
  6. For me Martinez says all the right things. Always talks positively, always talks players up. I admit he over uses a few superlatives but it's nice to hear our manager saying nothing but positive things and not taking the view that we are doing well just to hang in there with the supposed top 4. The team has obviously bought in to the coaching methods and as long as the team is moving in the right direction and he learns from his mistakes then I have no problem with his interviews. There's also the odd classic quip e.g the retort with regards to Coleman yesterday.
  7. Microsoft would make sense since they already sponsor the Seattle Sounders in the MLS although admittedly Seattle is a football city and the head office is based there. Facebook would have been interesting. I find it hard to believe that there were not equally worthy offers or better offers on the table.
  8. Saw this and wondered why he felt the need to express his opinion on Twitter. I know it's now fashionable to slate Moyes on a daily basis but I'd prefer us to retain our class and keep quiet.
  9. This season I've made a point of watching some of the Palace games, I was interested to see how things would change under Pulis. Not thrilling but interesting in the grand scheme of things. Hate Spurs or for that matter any team that Redknapp has got involved in. How clubs continually let him get away with it I have no idea. I'd like to see Derby get promoted from the Championship, I was at uni in Derby for a while the last time they were in the Premier League. I'd also be happy to see Burnley come up.
  10. Would Europa be a good idea then? It seems as though it would forge our strategy of the next season or couple of seasons where we go for more established players rather than picking up the youngsters and developing the team as a whole.
  11. I remember reading him receiving a bollocking in the press from the Yeovil manager a few weeks back for being crap in a few games. Never really seen enough of him to have a solid opinion though I'd be interested to see how him and Stones combine.
  12. Since the trip to Tenerife back in January? I know we have had injuries but for me that trip did a great job of having the averse effect on our season it was meant to have.
  13. Personally his injury record for me means he would get a pay as you play deal.
  14. Funny you click on that link to the Echo and it's a pic of Baines and him. What different paths. If Gosling had any sense of professional pride he will know deep down he completely screwed his career when he walked.
  15. I'll take 3pts however it comes but at some point someone is going to be on the end of a thrashing at Goodison and hopefully it starts with this game.
  16. I think a lot of the success the RS have enjoyed has been a whole lot of luck and a guy by the name of Gerrard. Luck can't last forever and Gerrard won't be around forever. On many occasions he has single handily been responsible fro dragging them over the finish line. Suarez also brings that non-stop winning mentality to the team. While we will never be in their shadow they bring certain things to the table that enable them to get as much out of the team as possible. I'm sure RM looks at all options available to them. Maybe its a knock on effect from the days of Moyes when "he'd be lucky to get out of an encounter with the so called big 4 alive" We should be able to make it over the line and get that win when it matters. Not deluded to the point of Arsenal fans where they believe it's their god given right to be winning and challenging but there's that obvious little spark we need.
  17. The scoreline from Saturday truly flattered Arsenal. I thought they did enough to win the game but it remains that for the second year running we seemingly had a fantastic opportunity to win the cup only to go out having not played our strongest side. Be it the typical luck of Everton but we are found to be wanting in the big games when the team needs to turn up and be counted. It is time for a sports psychologist? - England are taking Dr Steven Peters to Brazil and he has had some fantastic results outside of football and Gerrard has previously said he valued his input.
  18. That just turned into a shambles for 10 mins. Honestly I'm thinking we've been playing alright but same thing as normal happens.
  19. Same T&C as our deal with United for Moyes. No sale/no return.
  20. better yet re-name a stand after him.
  21. Think it's the ideal time to be playing them. They're going through their anticipated slump and what better way than to aid their slump than to kick them out of the cup. Ozil has gone missing, criticized by the german manager and team, Wilshire came out injured from the England game. Could be happy days come full time on Saturday, or at the very least a replay under the lights.
  22. Just coming back in to revisit this thread and I'm quite surprised at the thoughts about Neville. I can appreciate other people's views but as I say earlier I thought he did a decent job for him. True I don't hold the Moyes view of wanting 11 Phil Neville's in my team but with his limited ability he did a job for us.
  23. Agreed but it depends what the definition of 'fit' is. We only need to look back at the Liverpool game to see what can happen. Although the player may be passed 'fit' that it doesn't necessarily mean they should be playing. When we have played them the last couple of times at the Emirates Jags has been an absolute rock. If he does play I want him to be able to go full pelt nothing less. I know he is the captain and will want to play but we need to think longer term than just the game on Saturday. I'd hate to see him be included, be running at less than 100% and then be injured for another few weeks.
  24. I don't think there is any way that Jags could be considered for the Arsenal game if there is any doubt over his fitness, it would be too much of a risk. I love Jags but I'd rather he sit this one out and get himself right for Cardiff. Stones should get the nod.
