I wouldn’t say any of our CB’s are solid as yet. Godfrey is the closest and he is there on potential. No bigger clubs are knocking for Mina/Keane and the latter isn’t even getting into the international squad.

Quality player but he is injured a lot and the reported price tag is far above what his value is. If it was £20-30 million it’s about right. Exactly the type of player we need at RW, still think Leon Bailey is the best option however

Think every evertonian wants him and if we get him it’s soley down to brands IMO. This signing will be a huge part of a season. Get a proper winger in front of him and that’s a serious first 11

It’s not Rafa’s fault that Carlo fucked off with a moments notice just before an international competition. I would rather they take another 2 weeks before signing anyone if it means they get it right. Patience, we need to keep our stars first and then add another 3/4 players and we could really push Europe this year.

Godfrey was our signing of the season last year and he had the least hype. I’d also say Doucoure was better than Allan and same again. Have some faith mate - not every signing needs to be a big name or world class player!

Agree, even take number 3 or 4. Let one of the guys who have come on solely to take a penalty take the responsibility. I don’t mean to be bashing Saka - he’s done well all tournament but that’s a big moment and he didn’t deliver.

Perhaps but if the kid insists and puts his hand up and everyone says no - if it gets around to him taking the 6th or 7th penalty his confidence is now completely shot because it’s clear the squad doesn’t believe in him. At the end of the day he doesn’t take the 5th penalty without putting his hand up.

I am so certain that no one had told Saka he is taking the 5th penalty in an international final unless he has put his hand up for it and said he wants it. Agree on the game Managment from Southgate though. Had england gone at Italy I have no doubt there was a result to be had in normal time.

Sorry Haf but it’s not poor Saka - he’s an international and this is his profession. He put his hand up for the kick and his effort was pretty average straight after Pickford swung the momentum by saving Jorginho. Rashford brought Italy back into it as well.

No real sympathy though, when you fuck around and play games with your run it’s always a chance to do that. England’s last 3 pens where very poor. Southgate must feel so small given that he subbed 2 of them on for their penalty prowess. Honestly would have preferred to see Jordan take one

I think we really hold a lot of the chips here. Either psg pay what we ask or he gets his head down to fight for his place - this season leads into the World Cup so if he isn’t motivated for that he has serious issues.

For starters I think it’s imperative that we get some more athletic players in, I have been vocal about that. However, if coutinho is available he is worth a gamble.

I think some of Carlo’s tactics last season where about as anti-football as can be. 4 CB’s in the back 4 and so on. I think Rafa will be more expressive than that but I expect us to be organised, compact and hard to beat. We could be set up very nicely for our game winners to be effective - I’m growing with confidence every day and I just hope we get those 3/4 players we need this window.

Pace is not an issue with him. Could be a bit stronger but physically no issues with him. Hopefully this season he grounds himself. Pickford has become the example he needs to follow. Would love to see Godfrey & Holgate both become quality players and feature heavily for us and england.
