Lets see what the scans say. Could just be another freak moment with knee to knee contact. I really hope for his sake its just a bad knock and alot of fluid that settles after the scan.
I suppose when he was in charge of United he learnt first hand that the big teams can lose to anyone.
Kind of just waiting for west ham to burn out but to be fair to them they are showing some real character.
But moments before that Cavani had a goal disallowed that he managed to squeeze through his legs. I’m not saying lloris is the perfect example of a goal keeper because I think he is quite over rated but it’s something that happens a bit.
Either way if Pickford isn’t available I’d rather see Virginia over Olsen and see if he can make the number 2 his spot
Liverpool score late to win it 2-1 as well...
Were going to need to win our 2 games in hand for any real chance of Europe. At the moment we are roughy on par for 61/62 points which I think might be just short.
Exactly, so much time for him to skip it around the keeper and slot it.
As you mentioned, I don’t think Dom is the type to be content. I really hope he knows there’s room for improvement and he is still young enough to improve.
I know there was the United game where Holgate came into the side. I really can’t recall off the top of my head exact moments but I know I have felt on a few occasions he could have done better - I think it’s mainly getting drawn to a ball he doesn’t need to or been slightly out of position on crosses by memory.
All that is probably taken with a pinch of salt from me because I have been critical of him before but I do believe it’s those moments that are what separates him from good and very good. This season has undoubtedly been his best however and I hope he continues this trajectory.
I think without Doucoure the 3 man midfield can have 2 sitters so to speak and James drifting into space in front of them. Davies/Gbamin & Allan are suited to this with plenty of defensive ability to allow James to express himself
Not sure people are calling for him to be dropped... He’s improved his goal scoring but he needs to improve his finishing to become a top level striker. Hopefully they are putting the work in with him to achieve that.
Well Allan being back is a changer. I was under the impression it was between Gbamin, Gylfi or Holgate and if Gbamin isn’t 100% I know who I’m choosing.
If it were Mina or Holgate they would be getting ripped apart though instead of finding excuses for it.
Keane’s had his best season by far this year, really started to show himself as a top team defender but he has plenty of moments in him that really make you wonder - unfortunately for him most have cost goals and even points.
It’s poor from Keane, he’s done it on occasions. Schlupp was covered by Mina albeit eventually. Biggest concern is Gylfi hasn’t moved an inch while you look at the ground Godfrey covered in these moments. Ball watching again. Poor goal to concede that should have been easily avoided.
