Mybe the extension gives more time for an alternative bidder to be firmed up?

    Just trying to be hopeful!!

I like the positivity! However I feel like we've been saying this type of thing for ages. "Maybe this extra bit of time will allow for our white knight to swoop in and save us!"

I hope they do, I was brought up with Ref’s making mistakes and although shit when it went against you it was easier to accept. Now we have a video ref who can stop the game to tell the ref he had missed something or a goal he gave should be struck off or vice versa, and then it’s proven the original decision was right and the video ref got it wrong, now that completely whines me up and can ruin my weekend

The frustrating thing is just the inconsistency of it all. Watching Brighton/Chelsea now. Ref gives a pen, called to look at the monitor and it clearly wasn't a pen, ref rescinds it. THAT'S how it should work.

Unfortunately there's too many twats out there who can't properly manage the system, plus there's still so much gray area when it comes to what's a pen, what's a handball, etc.

The only thing I'd keep is the offside technology.

This threads been a bit spicy of late. How about we all focus our energy at the fuckwit of an owner? He's the reason for all of this at the end of the day

Damnit Matthew, there's a whole separate thread for that! Stick with the TT way and keep the topics on track!

Neither did I, if you aren’t gay then I apologise but I was under the impression you were, so get your partner to come on and confirm it. Not whether you are gay or not but whether you are as good fun as you say you are, before you start miss reading my post.

    Nice edit, mate 👍🏻

I don’t keep going on about the last 10 games as the only positives, that post was the first time I mentioned the last 10 in a direct response to Steve who referenced the last 10 game’s in his post to me.
I said a manager is judged by the now and not 6, 12, 18 months down the line yes if you have good spells you are applauded which is rightly so, but if you have a bad run of games particularly no wins in 14 99,9% of the time you are sacked, and I believe that if we had a working board and an owner that hadn’t gone AWOL he would have been sacked long before it got to 14, just like like in nearly every case of manager been sacked by their club since the start of the PL.

If you don’t agree with me then show me the evidence that of all the managers to be sacked in the PL how many had a worse run than his 14 before being sacked and how many survived after the same run he went on.
But don’t accuse me of going about the last 10 games or selective memory problems, just to try and make yourself look clever in your search for likes from the select few you keep sucking up to, because it’s embarrassing to see every time you do it, it really is embarrassing 🙈

Fishing for likes? Have you noticed the only one liking your posts and vice versa is Haf?

I'm glad you two found each other 🥰

No Steve if you are a football manager you are judged always on the now, not 6, 12, or 18 months down the line, and he has to the luckiest manager alive not to have lost is job when he was in that 14 game run.
In the life of the PL has there ever been a manager who has come that close to having such a run and not been sacked, he did have a good performance in the last 10 games but really if we had an owner who actually gave a fuck about this club he wouldn’t have been here to see those last 10 games.
Unfortunately Steve being a footballer manager is as far away from the corporate world you are describing as can be always has been and always will be.

You and Haf keep going on about the last 10 games as if that's the only positive spot this year. Selective memory problems blocking out the run from end of September-end of December where we went 10-2-3?

It did make make my laugh I love banter whether it’s aimed at me or someone else, if banter becomes banned then we might as well call it a day, the PC brigade are normally middle England boring twats.
I can’t believe that I’m the only one who found it funny and I’m sure dunlopp isn’t crying in his pillow because of it he’s probably in the bathroom washing his face😂

Go back a page and I applauded him for it! Nice try though, maybe next time bud!

That's what it felt like. Normally when you've got a point to make it's across every thread you can. Maybe I didn't notice it as much if you were posting in a couple instead?

I assume that count is only the Dyche thread and not the other 200 threads we've had meantime that you also put 30 posts in?

Yes, exaggerating for the irony just to be clear.

Dont fall into the irony trap, Matt! They might genuinely believe I think Dyche is on the same level as Pep! 🤸🏼‍♂️

No. This is 100% not true. Somehow you and Haf, and only you 2 on here, seem to think you're performing some vigilante service for the rest of us numpties that look at all the spinning plates and think "this is a mess, but who else spins them better? No one? Ah, we couldnt afford anyone else? OK, well let's stick it out since we can't do anything about it".

He was never given immunity. Not once. He was however defended from initially knee jerk reactions of calling for his head and repeating the same stupid cycle we've had for 7 years. He was defended because he has had us on 2 spells of European qualificiation level football after 2 years of survival at the death and a reduced squad to work with. He was defended because the stats showed we were creating chances and that the players needed to do better. No one has ever said (seriously) that he's an actual contender to Pep, but after yeeeears of misery, we've gotten a bit giddy at some success, midtable performances (argue as much as you both want, table shows it) and safety because that's just a fuckin relief after years of high blood pressure.

Honestly, you 2 are fun to read for the most part. "Doesn't play youth", plays youth. Examples given the reaponse is "Yeah, but that 1 guy doesn't count because he played for him before and the young defender is famous in football circles, no shit... Anyway, a kid who may well have been in the team last year too if he hadn't been shipped out on loan when Dyche wasnt even there but as soon as he's back he's integrated into the starting 11...

Don't like his football? For the most part neither do I. Not because of the tactics really, but because its effective, pragmatic football and that usually means not pretty. Is it good enough long term? Absolutely not. Is it good enough for now? Absofuckinglutely and us being skint has done us a favour else we would've been relegated after swapping another manager for, well no one other than Baines and Coleman and, as much as we love them, players turning coach might be ok for a game or 2 but not for half a season.

Finally though, just going back to the completely OTT criticism. 95% of the forum know all this. We don't need hyperbole, we don't need misdirection. We sucked it up because that's what was needed this season. As I've said previously, next season is going to so much worse as we're going to have even less to choose from.

Haf and Palf are going to die on this hill and honestly there's no point in going back and forth on this, but this perfectly sums up everything.

Probably because we’ve been leaking goals left, right and centre over the past couple of seasons but have had one of the best defensive records in the league this season with Sean Dyche as our manager. Were not pretty on the eye at times but at least we’re consistently well organised, generally well motivated and despite our limitations, always a threat on set-pieces.

Dyche may not be the long-term answer for our beautiful club but he’s more than earned his stripes this season with a smallish squad and knock after knock after knock. It would be pure stupidity to look elsewhere considering our still precarious situation off the field. Stability at management level at least please especially when you factor in we’re likely to be losing a few first team players this summer.

Dyche had no bearing on this. Branthwaite was pulling double duty as player/manager.

  11. 6 hours ago, Hafnia said:

So what you are saying is that my assertion that dyches ability to set up a team to defend whilst not having any other credible facets of play is valid?

yes we can defend which I believe is massively in part to having the 2nd best centre half in the league after saliba.  Think back to last season without branthwaite.... for me without branthwaite we go down.

compare our players to other teams midtable to bottom 3.  We have more quality than people see.

Literally can't even give Dyche credit for one of the best defensive records in the league, gives the credit to one player 😂

This is my personal view on Dyche's perfomance for season 23/24. And what I think could happen for season 24/25.

Overall, and I really mean overall despite a much too long run without wins and piss poor football, he did what was expected of him; keeping us in top flight and trying to create some sort of stability. More on that later. Beating The Shite was a much welcomed bonus.

Noone is going to claim that Dyche is a top manager, not even a ginger Guardiola, dunlopp, you twat. Dyche, to me, did what he was able to do and I thank him and the players for that. God forbid we should play in The Championship.
I think it's quite clear that we still have stability issues, but there will always be things that needs adjusting etc. Thing is though, our stability issues are a bit more than just the players, coaches and the manager getting it right. It's the whole club and it goes back much further than some of you are willing to admit. Rotten boardmembers, questionable decisions and a disillusioned owner who should never have been one in the first place. Things that have hurt our club and hearts and that we now pay and have paid for.

Stability is often a somewhat slow process because other factors play in, and then there are the things you just can't control as a manager or player like point deductions and uncertainty about availible funds to strengthen the squad. And on top on that there's the whole 777 Partners charade. Can only say I was very pleased not to see Josh Wander's stupid face and baseball cap when we played (and won) Sheff. Utd.
Fuck me, we've been through a lot and it's not over yet.

The big question for season 24/25 is ownership and how much we're able/allowed to spend on transfers and contracts. If we're able to get a solid owner I think we should thank Dyche for his work and look for another manager. If we're not then I think we should keep Dyche unless there are better options till things have changed for the better and that we can afford it.

I'm no fan of Dyche-ball when you don't have the team for it and sometimes it really hurts me to see how ugly and boring we can be because of that. 40 points is really not good, 48 points is under the circumstances ok. What a weird season where 30 points would've been enough, eh. Thank some god it's over.

It's from Roger Bennett, you twat 😂
