  1. I live in Liverpool I've never been to the US. Welcome.
  2. Played right through school, juniors, into seniors. Our senior school team won the all England catholic schools cup, we beat a school from Macclesfield 4-0 in the final that was held at Bellfield. Left school and played in the crosby district league for Marine youth for a bit but by the time I was 14 I had discovered girls and beer and my turning up on a Sunday morning turned more and more sporadic. I was pissing myself to play but Saturday came and went and I usually wouldn't get out of bed on a Sunday morning to go. Consequently I was never picked on the odd occasion I did turn up. I was naturally left footed and could play anywhere on the left but was usually a left back (in school anyway) but preferred left wing (in my after school marine youth days) where I was quite effective except my crossing was shite. I could dribble it past someone a hundred times if I had to but I couldn't cross the road if my life depended on it so got put back to left back. I later made an appearance for a team called Merseyside Wanderers in the Jacobs league and played as a centre forward and dome ok scoring plenty of goals but my habit of having a heavy night before and not turning up dogged me all my career. I was the Gazza of my time but a zillion times shitter (and drunker) In all I was never good enough for anything other than my school team and a couple of amateur sides. I was a fucking first class wreck head though. For anyone that was around Liverpool around that time the Quadrant Park was just taking off...
  3. To be fair that's an excellent point. I suppose he wants to do something though and how do you police people who work their arse off who have kids? Although I agree wholeheartedly with what you're saying.
  4. Also, we all have our opinions and I would hedge a bet none of us have a fucking clue what goes on at the top end of business dealings like this. Most wont have the slightest idea of the very bare basics of what they do never mind the back stabbing, manoeuvring and politics that go on in a high profile power struggle for a major business like we are. We've probably only scratched the surface of a lot of it and most of us wouldn't have the slightest idea where to start running a football club so we can shout and scream all we want. The truth is most are ignorant to the facts.
  5. That's a fantastic post to be fair and pretty much sums up my feelings towards him and the shenanigans that have gone on. Yes he has fucked up, yes he lied to us all, you could almost say he treated us like we were stupid at times but to blanket say he has done nothing and there's no good come from him is just plain ignorant. Maybe some of the good things he done was just to repair the damage he had caused but he stood firm and never ran away and has slowly but surely moved us forward. We all make mistakes in life, some more than others and when you do a job like he does then they are obviously going to be major high profile mistakes. The trick is to learn from them and become stronger and wiser for it and I think he is. I also hope he pulls the ground off and becomes a hero. One thing no one can deny is he loves the club. Give the guy a fucking break, mostly it's positive lately and long may it continue. If there's one more major fuck up though I think he'll be run out of Everton whether he likes it or not. With regards to Elstone? Bills fault. He hired him, he sticks with him. He is ultimately responsible for his performance/actions.
  6. You don't need that , I need a Les Paul Studio and a 50s telecaster as well. I only want a Marshal amp so I'm not greedy
  7. I thought it was funny to be honest. Especially the Emily Bishop line
  8. Proper decent guy. What cracking fella. Really impressed with this.
  9. Apparently Atsu is definitely not happening. We don't want to pay his wages while he is at the African Nations and Chelsea are telling us we either do or don 't get him so he isn't coming. That's what I was told today anyway :dunno:
  10. And there's about as much chance of me getting a 5 year deal as there is of him signing for us. I'm left footed by the way and can play left mid or winger.
  11. It wont be a loan though that's for sure. After what crying arse said about us last year , he also wont loan to a direct rival and I can't see us trying for a permanent deal.
  12. To add to this the sky has gone down with this thunderstorm So I'm watching the big match revisited off the planner. Leyton Orient vs Brighton from 1979. Some of the tackles are absolutely shocking!!! Proper football this. One sub as well. I swear to god one fella just got kicked 3 foot in the air from behind when he had passed the ball 3 seconds earlier and the ref never even gave a free kick He would have been banned for 6 matches if he had done a tackle like that today
  13. This is where I think that the FA or other footballing bodies should step in and implement a system where as youth players are not allowed an agent of gheir choosing until after a certain age. I think it would be a good idea for our FA to have it's own pool of agents that are given to young players who advise and do what's best for a players development and not their bank balance. Whilst I understand this would be highly difficult to implement, if all youth players had an assigned agent (but more like a father figure) who could still broker deals and have the players development as the no1 factor our youth system would benefit massively.
  14. what a wanker I am, being a bad noob I took TT to be the tt races, only clicked the link after I'd posted. More 48 hour sequels here than Die Hard!
  15. Monaco vs Valencia on BT Sports just finished 2-2. Valencia battered them. Know it's only pre season but Monaco looked average at best. Defensively they're woeful. Falcao got 45 mins though which is good to see. Love him what a player. Arsenal vs Benfica next. Footys back
  16. I didn't think it was and to be honest I wouldn't be arsed if it was it was just a really funny observation to make.
  17. I think of we brought in Atsu on loan and signed another striker on a permanent or a centre half maybe that can cover left side naturally for Distin and please please please a new no2 as back up for Howard. Joel is utter shite. I'm torn on the centre half with Jags, Distin, Stones, Alcaraz and Duffy we have 5 but I think Duffy may not have what it takes to be honest.
