  1. If he's waiting for something better then let him, that's fair enough, but we should withdraw our offer in that case. We can't afford to sit around waiting in the hope he decides we'd be a good consolation prize. If the better offer does materialise then we could be left in the shitter. I don't fancy our chances with our current striking options if him waiting leaves us with nothing.

I've got a horrible feeling we're going to kick off against Leicester with Kone up front. Just a feeling I get but I wont be surprised if we do lets put it that way.

  2. Why? In many cases, they are overpaying. And have they thought through how these players will blend with the team? Spurs didn't last year. Waiting until the moment is right takes discipline, but it's how we should do business. As someone else wrote, we fans tend to be like children who can't wait for Christmas.

Because fans are impatient. They see other clubs buying players and want to see their club do the same. I would imagine all fans are the same if their club isn't signing players and they are expected to. It's just a case of everyone wanting to see new faces and wanting to know what direction the club are going. After such a good season last season people are hungry to see us push on and eager to see new players wearing our colours and get excited and talk about it. It's just a natural thing that fans do. Whether you think it's right or wrong or I do it's just a natural reaction.

  3. Maybe he's holding out for something better? Put it in perspective if you applied for two jobs and the one which offeres you less money phones back saying you got the job, you'd wait out for the other employer to see if they are going to give you the job too... Plus the lads on holiday, let him decide when he's cleared his head. Its a tough career football, he must be stressed.

Belgium got knocked out 18 days ago. How long does he want?

You're right on the holding out thing though. I think we're his safety net if nobody else comes along and to be honest the thought of that irks the life out of me.

  4. Take into consideration his language barrier. I manage people from various parts of the world and have found you have to take that into consideration.

I take his comment as he thought he played well enough when on the pitch to deserve more play time. And last year there were many times when most of us also thought he should be on the pitch more.

I don't think that is any slight against us or our manager, just how the lad thought he progressed.

Overall I thought RM got his playing time right. His injury came at a time of good form and when he returned he wasn't the same player.

I thought at time, especially towards the end of last year his body language was awful and he looked like he couldn't wait to get to the end of the season. Shoulders slumped, head bowed, arms being flailed around.. Nope not a big deal he went back for me

  5. Never in a million years would the club tell workers in the shops this before it was announced. Imagine the scenario <all staff members called to a meeting> "listen don't say fuck all but get ready for an influx of Lukaku shirts it's gonna get messy" .... "Oh and don't forget to remind the punters there's no socks till beginning of August" I can see them all sworn to secrecy by Elstone and him rubbing his hands thinking the jobs a good-un!

Silly rumour that is just not true!

  6. ESPN reporting that Man City have stated if Yaya leaves they'll go in for Ross. RM put a 50m price tag on him. I really hope Yaya stays and fires that stupid agent of his, always creating trouble and making him more of a diva.

His agent is a buffoon and he makes Toure look like an uneducated crying arse who spouts anything when he doesn't get his own way. If City offered 50 million for Barkley I'd bite their hands off.

  7. Did anyone have a clue we were bringing in Deulofeu before it was announced? No. Did anyone have even a hint ahead of time that we were recruiting Lukaku? No. Was there anything in the press about Everton loaning Barry ahead of time? No. The fact that there were loans and not buys is irrelevant. Real business is conducted behind closed doors and not in public. What appears in the papers is designed to sell those papers to the gullible - full stop.

Steve I know this, I'm not gullible enough to think that if we were linked with players in the papers we will sugn someone. But there is no smoke without fire, there's nothing coming from the club, all the other clubs have been forthcoming with the fans and announced expected deals and kept them in the loop where as we get nothing , just a wall of silence while everyone else seems to snap up the odd player we are linked with.

  8. I'll say it again, there are 6 weeks of the transfer window to go, players and manager are only just back from holidays and the WC. Why is everyone else getting so worried when our best business was done in the final 12 hours last season!

Because if we know our targets it makes sense to get them in nice and early if we had of last season it could have given us a better start so I for one was hoping we would have learnt from this. I don't buy into this "its a world cup year" bollocks, lots and lots of players have been the world cup and returned and moved to new club Kroos announced it straight after the final came back and signed. Yes I know we're not Madrid and don 't have their clout but we're also not trying to sign players of his calibre! Weat Ham have snapped Valencia up another of our reported targets gone, Ba agent has just said he had agreed terms with us but Besiktas came in last minute and took him, why is this happening? Why can't we be aggressive in the market just for once? It's because we try and wrangle every last penny out of a deal and that at times costs us.

  9. I really am worried for next season. Not meaning to put a dampner on things but I have a horrible feeling we're going to struggle. Martinez has said our targets are identified so where are they? I understand it's not just as simple as that but we don 't seem to be linked with hardly anyone (seriously anyway) and the club is silent. Other teams are getting their targets in nice and early we have no one (except Barry) no pre season sorted and we can't even get the fucking socks to the club shop on the day the kits released!

I really do wonder who the fuck is running our club at times.

  10. To close this loop, I got four seats together in Main Stand (section 1 - row CC) on the aisle closest to the middle. One obstructed seat out of the four. Very excited - thanks again for the guidance!

Great news!! Enjoy the game. Hopefully the boys will put a shift in and you'll get to see the old lady rocking to her foundations ;)

  11. I would prefer us getting snapping to Cleveley. The people skating him have obviously not watched him properly and only made there judgment whilst he was under moyes. He doesn't lose a header and reads the game really well.

I don't get all the hate either. He's not exactly the best defender out there but I think he's a half decent player who could do a job for us. Still, everyone has and is entitled to an opinion.

  12. I'm sure I read somewhere that we don't even practice them in training as Martinez doesn't think they're important enough. I can't remember where and I'm far too lazy to look but that's what the article said
