I don't want it to,but I can see this happening. The buys we've made and the players we already have make me think we're going to cash in. I hope this is the year we see McCarthy become the total midfielder, but I think he knows if he stays here our formation will dictate that he's played as the holding player. Which is going to stifle his development into said total midfielder. I want McCarthy to be a Vieria not a Makalele.

I think the problem any young players coming through at UTD have now is that their supporters immediately say "their ok but their no Scholes, Giggs, Beckham, Neville, etc".

You are absolutely right they do buy the finished article "marquee" players, but they also spend a lot of time and money identifying and developing young players. Have done for many years and continue to do so today.

Finding a replacement gets easier when you've just sold a player like Arteta for 25 million.

Yes he has. In a thread earlier in the season (weak links, I think) I said that I thought our slow start might have been planned. In that RM was prepared for the demands of Europe and was planning on building into the season with a strong finish. I was completely wrong he had no idea. Team selections the last few weeks have proved that. The season was gone, there were no relegation worries and nothing to play for. He could have played more of the youngsters and heaven forbid a team with balance, and players playing in their correct positions. The fact the team put a decent run together and got out of trouble should not take the focus away from a poor season. I believe we are a better team than this season shows and the manager has to take responsibility for them under performing. Roll on next season and a fresh start.

So just clarifying, because we got four yellows yesterday and they only got one, they get the spot? Don't know why everyone's having so much trouble workin if out. Least yellows gets the spot, easy. Didn't want the spot that way would have been a curse for the season.
