If we keep Baines at left back that still means we are going to be playing somebody on the left of midfield out of position. I'd rather have a natural left footer who can give us some width rather than Cahill,Gosling etc having to cut in on their right foot to slow the attack down. I think the team would be alot more "balanced" than the other options.

No your quite right right italian teams don't do that they are very similar to spanish teams. They loan out theyr'e best young players or sell them with a buy back clause because they would rather go out and spend theyre wedge on a "name" and realise they had the real deal all the time. But thats irrelevant just like your post. Its a different league with different financial issues. The whole point of the post was to give another option and to discuss. At the end of the day the way Bill is going we have to sell and make profit to stay around the front six and staying in touch with the young talented players may be the way forward

What i said was that at the moment we have no investment and for the past two seasons we have struggled with a squad that is vastly short of numbers. Probably the biggest dissenters on the forum are about Felliani and occasionaly Billy and the fee we paid. Again, without investment we will be allowed one "big" signing and we will struggle. All i'm doing is suggesting an alternative. Its ok saying think big think big but its ok thinking, what about the practicalities? We have a decent squad when evertybody is fit so we could pad the squad out with young hungry players.

Not to sure about that, Collison is welsh and only got snapped up into West Hams youth academy so he could come. The list is not supposed to make you spunk in your pants. With the crappy state in our finances and small squad i have realised there have been some posters unhappy with our recent "big" signings and i was wondering should Davey go back to buying "potential" as he seems to have more success buying in the lower leagues. Granted, we should be aiming high but we have no money and the recent injury crisis proves we have no numbers to fill the squad out. Maybe instead of signing one "marquee" signing we buy four or five cheaper players that could make the step up. I got to thinking this after watching the Leeds game the other night, there was a young kid on loan from Leicester called Gradel. Took all the free kicks and looked a confident young player. I'd go for Victor Moses(Palace), Gradel(Leicester),Rhodes(Huddersfield), Westwood (Coventry), Ranger(Newcastle) and in the prem i'd go for Collison, Tompkins and Hines(West Ham), Henderson (Sunderland) none of them might come off but its another option. What do you guys think?

I think people need to realise Jo is not our player and will never be a permanent player for us. Moyes certainly had reservations about him as he could have easily asked for him in part ex for Lescott and never bothered. At the end of the day we are paying his wages and thats it. Granted, he is too lightweight for the premier league and i think it's fair to stay he won't be here forever but if he went to the Spanish league i don't think he would look too bad. Freddy Kanoute looks a world beater playing for Sevilla and wasn't great in the premier league. As for shittest player ever? Are you mad? I've said it before but in January can we sign somebody with some pace? A.J. wasn't the greatest player much like Radlinski but he made such a difference and scared teams. We need someone to turn defence into attack. Who would you guys like? I like Kightley and Hazard at lille

Davey knows he ain't gonna get United and any other "top four" team so the only place i can see him going is Newcastle when they get bought, come up and have millions to spend. I can see this season being a write off in the league and doing well in the cups.

I work in Manchester and the City fans are slating him already! I rate Lescott very highly but i think he will miss out on the world cup and i think if Hughes goes his successor wont be under pressure to play him. Will Lescott care? Will we? Probably not.

I think Upson is readily accepted as being Capello's favoured left sided centre half as cover so i think there is a definate gap for a right sided centre half cover for Terry. The Jags or Cahill anyone?

Ossie is a good premier league footballer however he is not good enough for our first eleven anymore. A squad player at the moment but as we know Moysie values the traits Ossie brings which every club needs.
