With Neville being out and maybe not first choice we need to sort out another option as Captain and Vice Captain as Yobo and certainly not Osman should be considered. A Captain should inspire, like Neville does to a certain extent and should be the player that starts the ball rolling with a challenge or an ability to change the game. Once Mickey is back that would be a good option or for me it would be Timmy Cahill. Although he is not a link up man or a general i think it would give him an extra 10% to his game and he is a player that others respect. Obviously going from the dutch league to the spanish and then to the prem in 18 months will take some adjusting to. I think you can see in Johnny's case at right back you are limited as to were you can pass the ball and you can see he is trying to pass the ball along the floor ala Ajax however when you have continually have only Osman to pass to it can be a problem. Ozzie is too lightweight and not quick enough to give him an "outball" down the line. I do think his best position may be centre half and at times he is caught for pace but he has had a stop start entrance to his everton career due to not playing in europe and i think he will find his feet and end up a cult hero due to his whole heartedness and tenacity.

I think we are suited to european football. If Pienaar is injured that will be a huge blow because he creates space and chances. Osman has been awful and i am his biggest critic but i would rest Rodders and put Ossie in the centre. 0-0 methinks

If we can get him for £6-8 million then yes any more than that it's a no for me. He has got a nice left foot and is a skillfull player and he is better in a front two however Moysie will never play that formation and with the good variation of midfielders we have five across the midfield is the way to go.

Said it before and i'll say it again Johnson is a good championship player and an average premier league player. Too lightweight and not good enough defensively. He is scoring goals at the minute and looks like a world beater but he did the same thing on loan at Watford a few years ago and did nowt after that.

How the fuck does that add up? £8 miilion on top of lescott? Billy £9 miilion (reported), Johnny £6 million and Distin say £5.5 million. So thats £20.5 million. We let Shandy and Valente go who were probably on £25 to £30 grand a week and we got rid of Lescotts wages which were probably close to £50,000 grand. Random figures used which adds up to around £5 miilion saved on wages between them. Obviously we have the new guys wages but so what? So is Elstone saying Lescott went for £15 million? where has that £5 million gone then and on what? Does he think were stupid? Why is he throwing the wages on top of it?
