  1. Bernard concerns me West Brom are uncompromising in the way they play and could easily bully Bernard.
  2. This selection definitely has the Chelsea game in mind, this is a calculated risk from the manager but we should on paper win this with the right attitude.
  3. Have a read back through the last half dozen match days, there are plenty of grumbles based on letting the ball get away from him, and some of his short passing as been very poor, but he has other skill sets that more than make up for that part of his game, he’s a destroyer he breaks the opposition’s game plan up he is also a good reader of the game he knows when to drop stay or go unlike the ball magnet that once played for us, like I said I don’t think he shines for us so much in games that we have good possession in, just my take on what I think, and after all Bailey you did ask for people’s opinions.
  4. With the exception of City and Utd we are more than capable of finishing above everyone else, I can see us going on a run of 4-5 wins in a row, and others around us dropping points.
  5. Maybe I’m to old school and need to move with the times, it’s like not putting the flag up for an offside understand when it’s close don’t flag and let the move play out, but when it’s clearly offside by a yard or more flag and stop the game what’s to be gained by carrying on.
  6. As long as it doesn’t further slow the game down I couldn’t careless if we get refs comments or not, but can’t help feeling some things are just not needed and don’t help the game.
  7. And that’s all I did Rob give him some credit for helping get Richarlison and Doucoure and nothing else, unless you can show me different in my original post then there’s no more to be said on the subject from myself, but please feel free to discuss Silva’s merits or lack of with Pete I don’t wish to get embroiled in that debate. Sorry I should have added I agree with a lot of what you said.
  8. I see it differently, I see Doucoure in games that might not require his skill set so he doesn’t look as good, against Southampton for example I think another ball player such as James was needed in stead of player like him who is there to break up the opposition’s play or a half way house player like Davies who can give you a bit of both, Southampton weren’t dangerous enough to warrant both Doucoure and Allan in the same team. Doucoure doesn’t own the skills required to be a play maker and when his ability isn’t required he can’t give you much else, due mainly to a poor first touch and poor passing, so looks off the pace, if he plays against Chelsea he will be vying for man of the match, because his attributes will be badly needed Chelsea will have much more possession and he will thrive on breaking it down.
  9. I think we are going to be to strong for Chelsea when it comes to playing the so called big teams, we have a desire and intensity that big teams seem to struggle with which I believe comes from Ferguson. Chelsea won’t be able to match us when it comes to will to win, can Tuchel get his players to die for him like I believe Ancelotti and Ferguson can I don’t think so, quite the reverse I strongly believe he’s lost his players respect before he even had it. We might not win but I can’t see us losing.
  10. This is very true Haf. Pete I made a simple comment regarding Doucoure that I and some others believe to be true not all granted, that we should thank Silva for some of his acquisitions and in Doucoure’s case for being the catalyst in trying to get him here in the beginning. You could have agreed or disagreed with that statement, but you chose to attack my post on something I never said, which was that I was thanking Silva for his managerial ability. He helped bring some good players here for me that cannot be denied, he was proven to be not ready for the challenge he took on, his tactics were all over the place and he lacked the experience to challenge himself, in a nutshell to big a job for him at that time in his career, I don’t think you will find many who will disagree that he should have been replaced, but surely that shouldn’t mean I or anyone else can’t thank him for some of the players he brought to the club, which a better coach has benefited from.
  11. Him and Godfrey don’t seem to tire I’m sure they do but you wouldn’t notice it they could play a game every 3-4 days and take it in their stride.
  12. I’m feeling your new found love for Pickford mate, long may it last
  13. Agreed Wiggy even in lockdown there’s a limit to what you have time and patience to watch.
  14. A draw would be a great result a win would be off the scale, either would go along way to cement our quest for a European spot.
  15. Thought he played really well with not a lot to do against Southampton, but when required did the business. In his last two game’s I can’t recall any wtf moments so all good since his return from injury.
  16. I understand your concern at that a please and a thank you goes along way in my opinion, it’s a validation that you are happy with the way you have been treated as well as good manners, I can see how that must be difficult for you and I don’t know the sensible answer mate, must be very frustrating at times.
  17. Just want the 3 points don’t care to much how we get them, then give one of our better performances against Chelsea.
  18. Pete put your shovel away mate Silva wanted Doucoure and sold the idea to Brand’s.
  19. You will have to ask Doucoure that, but the club have confirmed they were trying to get him for 2 years before Ancelotti turned up, and didn’t Doucoure say he wanted to come here and thought his opportunity had gone when Silva departed, or have I just made that up?
  20. Went for Pickford could have easily been Richarlison or Allan.
  21. Job done points in the bag onwards and upwards.
