He’s 32 in September and will be coming up to 33 when his contract expires, yet you want to give him a long contract on reduced wages, I can’t see the value in that, personally I think we should be looking for a replacement in the 3 windows we have before his contract expires, not because he isn’t contributing to the team at the present time because he is, but more because I don’t think we would have achieved our potential if we still have a 34-36 year old Gylfi in the match day squad.

I liked the Ebrell comparison completely sums up what Davies worth is to the team, and most of the time those traits are only found in players who have a real emotional connection with their clubs, because they care and it shows.

The screen shots say a lot to me about our defending in particular the top screen shot. We are playing a back 3 with wing backs, Holgate has stepped out the back line to press the ball he is now 20 yards in front of Keane and Godfrey, there can only be 2 trains of thought in my opinion. 1) He shouldn’t have made the press and held the deep line with Keane and Godfrey. 2) He was right to make the press and the others should have stepped up and set the line higher working as a team when the press was on. For me it’s the latter Keane is watching what is happening but holds his position when he should have pushed up and giving Godfrey the command to do the same, for me that made it easy for Chelsea to play in the space left by Holgate when he doesn’t win the ball, with no chance of being offside because Keane and Godfrey stayed to deep, poor defending all round imo.

First Ancelotti’s family home now Olsen’s, aggravated burglary has to be one of the most horrendous crimes especially when it involves your family, how do you help you wife and children get over this when they won’t feel safe in there own home. I don’t know if we have a national organised crime squad with the powers of the customs office and able to act in any county without warrants, if there isn’t then there needs to be, we have to crack down hard on these gangs, they are destroying the image of our country.

Your right, and he would also benefit from a longer run of games, not so much for his benefit but more for the benefit of those who play around him, they need to be in tune with his ability and what he can do if that makes sense, but at the moment little injuries are hampering him and robbing us.

Ancelotti is getting a tune out of a broken piano, it may not be Schubert, Handle or Mozart, and more like Les Dawson at times, But the repairs have started and are on going, he is our Maestro and I truly believe given the time he will deliver us an Orchestra to out perform anything.

Gomes was possibly our best player in the first half, the player who really disappointed me for the 90 minutes was Digne he totally lacked any bollocks did literally nothing all game.

Gomes or Gylfi can’t replace Doucoure they are different types of players and haven’t got his energy, unless Gbamin is close to fitness he maybe the closes player to fill his role, I think we will probably see a change of system from Ancelotti to try and compensate for his loss, than someone being directly asked to fill his role.

Wow Everton lose so kick the shit out of one player, he was far from the only player who didn’t perform to their best, and far from our worst player in the team.

I agree we haven’t got the depth in the squad yet, hopefully that changes in the summer Ancelotti has confirmed they have earmarked 3-4 players for next season, just 2 would make a huge difference. I’m happy how we have progressed this season if I’m honest we have exceeded my expectations, and we are still in the mix.

That’s a bit extreme one man injured doesn’t make the rest non existent.
