I enjoyed that the chemistry between James and Iwobi was great to see, Digne taking his man on and getting some world class crosses in, Keane and Mina strong in the centre of defence and bringing the ball out, Davies owning the centre of the pitch. Players to improve 2nd half Doucoure Gylfi Godfrey Holgate.

Early Godfrey and Digne were like the Chuckle brothers to you to me, neither wanted or new what to do with it then ended up losing it between them.

James and Iwobi definitely on the same wavelength, you can tell they’ve come from teams that have coached football is a pass and move game, great skills between them.

Best way to defend against him is to cut his supply off without the ball he can’t hurt you.

The whole team pretty much went missing after we scored at one point people were thinking how many are we going to get in the first 10-15 minutes, which then soon turned to will we lose this. I agree to an extent with who ever pointed out Gomes and Davies together doesn’t work, ideally you would want Doucoure and Allan, and at a minimum either one of them with Gomes or Davies. Doucoure was effective and the midfield duo became more effective as a unit and I believe that would have been the case if it was Gomes who went off in stead of Davies to a large degree we just had to change the partnership of Gomes and Davies.

Exactly each to their own, I didn’t see it quite like you Doucoure was a huge improvement on Davies but wasn’t solely the reason we got a grip on the middle of the park, Gomes had someone to take some of the weight he was pretty much on his own for 60 minutes, also James coming off buoyed the team we had more players on prepared to work which stopped Rotherham getting to our defence, so no mate it wasn’t a one man team or change that made the difference, so if you’ve got it recorded take another he played the whole 120 minutes and was still contributing to the end. A solid performance imo.

Gomes covered the ground from the start to the end best player out there.

I thought we looked much better in midfield when he went off, we were balanced and stronger, Rotherham’s threat was minimal when he was taken off and as our midfield worked harder and protected the defence allowing them to have an impact further up field, for me he has to work harder for the team.
