  1. However at the cost of one of the best midfielders Liverpool have had in years in Alonso was pure madness... They never recovered from losing him.
  2. If we beat Man United and Arsenal however... then we are in serious buisness. Can we beat them??? Why not! Great time to be a blue!
  3. As true as the comments may well be - they can be analysed... Martinez has brought in a new midfield - Barry, McCarthy and Barkley is the best trio I have seen in quite some time (I did like Fernandez, Arteta and Carsley though). Felli will be a little bit overawed I think, it would not surprise me to see him try and "do" McCarthy/Barry as he will no doubt be aware that they have improved us... I think Barkley would still be warming the bench if Moyes was still here... United are no better than anyone else we have played against, champions the may be but they have been poor. Best team we have played is Man City followed by Chelsea. We can do these!
  4. ha ha go ed Tommy lad!!! Nice to hear a story like this - better than the Keith Gillespie one.
  5. http://news.uk.msn.com/uk/tom-daley-im-in-a-relationship-with-a-man/?ocid=binganswers Tom Daley has come out. Whilst many will say "no big surprise there" I think it is very brave of the lad and in all seriousness it's his own private life and doing what he has done may help lots of other people of his age group who aren't coping in dealing with sexuality. He says he still fancies girls - the greedy sod!
  6. Lots of variation with our MOTM's, previous years it was Fellaini/Mirallas/Jags - good to see attacking players taking plaudits.
  7. Got a yellow card taking him to 5 so 1 match ban - pity that Rooney didn't get one too, he is on 4 yellows. From looking at Red Cafe etc Jones has been in good form for them so will be a big miss I hope. Fellaini will be an interesting one, my guess is that RM will get our players to wind him up, he will be under immense pressure.
  8. He's not a dirty player Stevie G laaa....
  9. Bigger than the derby this one for me. Going to be an interesting side - is Barkley going to play? I think so, Phil Jones is missing for them as is Carrick and I believe we will boss the midfield, get Barry to man mark Rooney and wind him and Felli up as much as possible - there is a red card waiting for those two if we do it right. Really looking forward to this one!
  10. My expectation is that Moyes wants to win badly and he will struggle to contain his emotions, he will be patrolling the technical area barking and staring whilst RM will remain his controlled strategic self. Our away support will be very noisy and I expect a very feisty game. Moyes will no doubt destroy any remaining affection some of our misty eyed fans have for him, too many believe that he is an Evertonian and secretly loves us, unfortunately it's a business - we were an employer to him and we served our purpose. The relationship after this game will probably be totally broken. I expect Moyes to make some catty comments such as:- "Everton are a good team, I know that as I signed most of the players there, it doesn't surprise me they are doing well" "This will be a big game for Everton, they will want to get one over me and united as we are a massive club and are the champions" "Ross Barkley is starting to show the ability I knew he had, the boy needed looking after and I like to think he is showing the benefit from that, I gave him his debut" You know the passive aggressive digs he likes to make...
  11. My barkley/zidane comparison is that I don't think i've seen such a big lad with such balance and vision since Zizou.... will he reach zidance heights??? Unlikely - zizou won everything and scored crucial goals in major finals, Barkley is english so will therefore struggle playing alongside chalatans like Cleverley and having to contend with our press trying to destroy him. Barkley does have the potential to be the best technical midfielder England have had since Scholes and that for me is an outstanding plaudit - given how highly zizou himself rated scholes. I guess the only way you can appraise my ambitious statement is to compare a 19 year old zidane to a 19 year old barkley. But just to make it clear, Zidane is one of the best players ever.
  12. I thought it was the manner of our performance not the result that gave us the platform to produce what we did on Saturday. If Liverpool played like they did against us they would have beaten Hull. Just gotta be happy that we made 3 points on them in a must win game for them. Must admit though, I am looking at the table and adding 7-8 points to our tally as a guide as where we should be...
  13. I was too - he has been more of a DM for us than Fellaini was. 91% pass completion - oustanding.
  14. I bet Moyes is relieved he isn't playing us at Goodison - under the lights with the anger at his behaviour would create a couldron that would be tough to be matched anywhere, it would have more spice than a derby game. It would be like going to the same party as your ex mrs who is with her new rich husband, except your new bird is way tidier, is a good laugh and you just can't wait to see the look on the ex's face when she realises "blimey, he's moved on - he doesn't even miss me". You just want to see the ex at the end of the night with mascara running down her face having a barney with her new bloke who seems ready to dump her. Hopefully we can play them off the park and get the manc fans booing the team. Big, big game.
  15. we have got to sign him, no doubt the likes of Newcastle, Liverpool and dare I say United may try and gazzump us... He is exactly what they need, hopefully he has seen what Everton is all about and decides to go with his heart rather than follow the £££. I'm pretty certain he doesn't need the £100k a week that those clubs will try and offer him. For me he is still an £8m asset that will cost nothing. More importantly the likes of Barkley and McCarthy will take great benefit from his mentorship.
  16. Absolutely, I wanna see that dour "look at me, I'm such an alpha male, look at my intense 50 yard stare" prick retreat to his "I'm holding my head in disbelief that these medal winners can't understand Davie baresi and his unique tactics" Bring them on...
  17. Nope!!! Great attribute but a bad one also! The phrase "let it go" doesn't sit with me.
  18. I would love to give him the impression that he outstayed his welcome 5 years ago - trying to make out he was doing us a favour .. sandbagging prick wanted to make out a draw was a good result for them today. Sad reality is that when he's sacked and sitting on £30m I will be still slating the prick whilst working to support a family. Oh well...
  19. Is he still 300% better than fellaini though? (Pax - most shocking post ever)
  20. Are we able to establish that McCarthy isn't shite and isn't Joe Allen yet??? Or shall I keep my powder dry and hope bill doesn't want to stay tentative on judgement till another club bids £30m for him...
  21. That's 20/20 then.... Not sure what happened there.
