  1. I'd get shot for providing lazy stats like that. Example, lukaku had played 300 more minutes than naismith. Lukaku does a mile every 15.6 minutes, naismith takes 12.4 minutes. Naismith averages 7.25 miles per game. Lukaku 5.2 miles. Naismith has one of the highest distances covered in a game 12km vs west brom. You see there is also this, naismith covers his ground with intent, when he presses a player he is going to win the thing. Lukakus is more "I'm just kinda running at 75% to make it look like I'm doing my job". There is no kidding the fans.
  2. Zero factor bronzing oil for indoor tanning for Elstone A-Z of superlatives to Martinez
  3. Hypnotherapy sessions for Tim Howard to make him believe he is playing in the world cup A course at the Bobby Charlton Soccer school for Lukaku so he can learn the fundamentals A spare set of glass ankles and hamstrings for Mirallas Slimming tablets for McGeady Third party Medical Insurance for Besic
  4. It's interesting hearing the varied opinions, many Celtic fans don't like him because he plays for Ireland and some who took sides with strachan when he and Mcgeady fell out. Personally I don't think tricks matter, it's the ability to put the defenders on wrong foot and use burst of pace to go past the man. That's all Coleman does when he's on his game.
  5. It will be as popular as changeing the badge
  6. great thread - you missed player of year so far though.... Naismith - where is he?
  7. First Team (If all fit): Howard – 4 Coleman – 5 Jagielka – 6 Stones – 7 Baines – 7 Besic – 7 McCarthy – 8 Barkley – 6 Mirallas – 7 Eto’o – 7 Lukaku – 5 Naismith - 9 Bench/Squad that have been used: Joel – 2 Distin – 5 Browning – 4 Hibbert – 6 Garbutt – 8 Barry – 6 Osman – 5 Pienaar – 1 Atsu – 2 Kone – 6
  8. I think what you see with wingers like McGeady, Deulofeu, and the likes of Sterling, Lennon, Wright Phillips - is that in their initial years they are so enjoyable to watch - like watching a raw kid go and stick it to season cloggers who can't catch them or stop them. Case being Ryan Giggs - I personally thought his first few years were by far and away his best, he supposedly became a better player as he got older but what I seen was a "percentage play" element which was pity. What happens is they get sussed to an extent, certain dribbles get worked out and they have to adapt their game.
  9. Another Mirallas bash or making Mirallas not sound like he is Cristiano Ronaldo which usually riles you more than telling a 14 year old One Direction fan that Harry Styles can't sing. Mirallas is a better player than McGeady - doesn't mean they aren't similar beasts.... read the posts and stop getting so trigger happy on your iphone with Kevin Mirallas case
  10. Its called adding balance. People get carried away with hype to a flair player unfairly and others over criticising less spectacular. Mirallas is a very talented player, a matchwinner - lets not brush over that. On his day along with Barkley and Eto he is the best at breaking teams down. What we also need to identify is that he very often makes poor decisions and these are often because he wants to do the flashy stuff. On the balance of which makes him a frustrating player. Its ok for him to do that with others, but its not ok for McGeady to get tackled? its all very much pointing to player favourites and some players are imune and some players more prone to criticism.
  11. Its the same old case though Bailey - in the eyes of many Mirallas can do no wrong because he scores the odd blockbuster. The reality is that he puts our defence under alot of pressure when he loses it and is not the best at getting back. I understand the need to try something in order to make breakthroughs but the same level of tolerance is not given to other players. Mirallas does seem to have an ego that is way out there. The first indication of this was when he opposed the inclusion of Januzaj in the WC squad.
  12. I know where Bailey is coming from. When McGeady was the same age as Deulofeu he was seen as a a special talent. Flair, goals, assists - all the things that make people go a little bit OTT like they do about Sterling right now and Deulofeu. They hype subsides a little and what is usually left is the player they have always been but with a little less "spark". Its all about who they are and what they represent... If Deulofeu was the player that did they take on and cross for Naimsiths goal vs QPR then everyone would have been going on about the quality... I like Deulofeu and players that take others on but I do not get the gulf in opinion between the likes of Mirallas, Deulofeu and McGeady, they are all very similar beasts, can frustrate and exzcite in equal measure.
  13. "he's made of glass but he recovers quickly before getting injured again"
  14. Ok so in order to point out how to lose an argument, you say Seville and deulofeu have moved on??? He's been an unused sub 2 out of last 3 games. Of his appearances that you think have moved him on, they have all vertually been sub - he isn't getting much game time at all compared to when he was with us.
  15. Listen people will give you shit if you do behave like a tit. Sean, Shawn, Shaun, match fit fully fit, calling people out mid match, stating non attending supporters have no right to an opinion on ground atmosphere.... You just like a wind up and then whinge when a name like tit is used.
  16. Yeah.... Saying that it could happen in January which is a couple of weeks away. Other than that a few posters on Other forums reckon it's a possible goer. Do you always have to be an antagonistic tit? Maybe we should close down the rumour section just in case every rumour doesn't pass your high scrutiny.

  18. I remember someone writing about Graham Sharp - Evertons post war record goalscorer - i'll be honest I have no idea who they meant. If they wrote Graeme Sharp I would have said "oh yeah, he was a top player, good in the air, won two titles and had a great partnership with Andy Gray"
  19. I was going to write that - he's 27 though. He nearly gifted QPR a goal, and whichever way you look at it invited a pretty heavy foul from Mutch, he need to stop trying the spectacular all the time. The game against Hull he went for an audacious chip at 1-0 up, when in all honesty he really should have put his foot right through it. If it came off it would have been great but the percentages and scoreline say he should have hit it to force a save or hit the net.
  20. I'm hearing rumours that we are signing Gerry Deulofeu in January....
  21. I've sat in the ground watching us play the worst football I have seen and just willing the ref to blow his whistle - for reason alone I laugh at any Johnny come lately who questions my support. 1st November 1994 - against West Ham at Goodison. We had not won a game, Gary Ablett scored and we held on - burrows clearing off the line and Lee Chapman hitting the post in the final minutes. Mike Walker got the sack after the next game and Royle rescued us. 16th March 2002 - against Fulham. Moyes first game. We won 2-1 but the last 20 minutes with 10 men was unbearable. I honestly thought that if we lost or drew that game then we would have been relegated. It kick stared a new belief. Many more I can think of - the FA Cup quarter final in 1985 against Ipswich where mountfield scored a last gasp equaliser - but that was a great season playing amazing football.
  22. I think Ledson is already the ideal player to be his replacement. One touch passing, tempo setting player. Osman will always have respect off the fans - a one club player who has been around since he was kid. My mate was at Everton as a youth keeper around 1994. He said Osman was a couple of years younger but was an absolute quality striker back then. He's had a good career to be fair to the lad. If he was a better athlete he would have had many more england caps IMO.
