  1. Maybe so, but with Billy Bingham's team. Poor Billy Bingham, I thought he had us heading in the right direction.
  2. Do you remember some of the dire football we played under Walter Smith. Some of that was painful to watch and you were probably one of the many at the time calling for more adventurous / attractive football instead of the long ball game we deployed which enabled us to get 0-0 draws week in week out. Shit season so far but I can see enough to tell me that its not time to panic (yet).
  3. I say stick with Moyes. True, it has been a disappointing season so far but we have actually played some decent football even some of our defeats. But while on the subject of who would replace Moyes, given our limited budget I would imagine that we would be more likely to go with someone such as David Jones. Personally though I'd prefer our next manager was not a former defender. A former creative player please, BUT WHO????.
  4. I'm with you on the penalty claim. I'm sick of this ball to hand lark. OK so sometimes ball to hand is understandable but when the hand stops a shot from going goalwards or stops the ball from reaching another player for me that is Hand Ball. Arteta for MOTM.
  5. ARTETA by a mile. Thought Yakubu was frustrating. Runs hot and cold. Does something great one minute then stuffs up the next. His first touch is still abit dodgy. He shouldve scored in open play today, never mind the penalty (why give him the job in the first place anyway??). BUT hopefully its a sign that he's getting back to the form he showed in his first season.
  6. Why hasnt it been rescheduled yet?. Next week with the FA Cup on wouldve been an ideal time to squeeze the fixture in. Think those in charge need to get a move on or perhaps they've forgotten about the fixture. Was postponed WAY BACK on August 19th.
  7. Osman for me. He gets a bit of stick from time to time but today was top class. Not one bad performance today. We out played the champions, things are looking up. And to think I was worried about our February fixtures.
  8. So according to you we should get rid of Rodwell and (going by your post about Saha v Yak), Saha is shite. YOU ARE A MUPPET. I think youre just after a response. I will await your next stupid, nonsensical post. I'm sure its not too far away. Your lack of footballing knowledge is of RS proportions. Are you a RS?. I have my suspicions.
  9. Give up this discussion now before you embarrass yourself further.
  10. Was just about to say the same thing. Those who say Saha is crap can have no understanding of the game and are probably the same people that thought AJ was the answer. As for Yak, he can be good on his day but those days are few and far between. Oh and his first touch is woeful.
  11. Neville was NOT goal side of Kuyt (so how can that be arguable?). One of the first things you get taught as kids is to be goal side and DO NOT let the attacker get goal side. Neville should not make such STUPID, SCHOOLBOY errors. That is Why Neville is getting blame for the goal (quite simple really). However, admittedly Howard was also partly at fault. between the two of them they fucked up completely. Both more concerned about playing games with Kuyt than actually defending the corner. Tossers.
  12. Got what we deserved really. Shite second half. Went with Cahill for MOTM. Howard weak for their goal BUT why wasnt PHIL NEVILLE goal side of Kuyt????????. Schoolboy defending. We had no width when playing against 10 men, Coleman deffo shouldve come on to provide that.
  13. Its hard to narrow it down to 5 but I'll give it a go. BOB LATCHFORD coz he walked on water. ANDY KING coz andy was king. DUNCAN MCKENZIE coz (as said previously) he was magic. TREVOR STEVEN coz he was tricky. this last one is out of SOUTHALL, SHARP, ANDY GRAY, RATCLIFFE, DAVE THOMAS and a host of others. Think I'll go with SOUTHALL although ANDY GRAY comes close. The likes of Kendall, Ball, Harvey was just before my time.
  14. I am becoming more of a fan of Pienaar the more I see him. I do think he's made a difference since he's returned but CraccerC does have a point about the votes Pienaar sometimes gets. For me he was man of the match v Burnley but I have seen him get MOTM on here in other games when he has just done a lot of running and looked busy but contributed little else. So youre both wrong (or right as the case may be).
  15. I hope we stay on the North side of town (preferably not too far from Goodison) but I wouldnt be surprised if a site in Speke was offered then we'll all be wishing that Kirkby got the go ahead.
  16. Fair enough, he just frustrates me. I do hope he gets back to his scoring ways to make me eat my words but I cant see it happening TBH.
  17. Pienaar for me. As suggested Hetinga was also a candidate but we were playing BURNLEY and AT HOME so I refuse to give a MOTM to a defender. We made hard work of what should have been an easy win. Nice pass by Yakubu for Pienaars goal but Yakubu frustrates me. How many times have you seen him pull a shot because he tries to hit it too hard (as in the first half). And he seems more interested in looking for free kicks that playing Football. He hasnt got the killer touch. That one that hit the post was verging on embarrassing, shouldve been in and wouldve been if he hadnt have missed kicked it. Saha is twice the player Yakubu will ever be (happy to be proved wrong). Thankfully Vaughan came on save the game (just lucky the goal wasnt ruled out for offside as YAKUBU was in front of the goalie in an off side pozzi, Hey, theyve been given before). There, anti-Yakubu rant over.
  18. The only team I TRULY SUPPORT in any sport is EVERTON. The only other team that I perhaps come close to "supporting" is ENGLAND in the Cricket and Rugby. I dont support any other club team but EFC, but would like to see some do well and occasionally check the results of; SCOTTISH FOOTBALL Dundee Utd (for no particular reason that I know of), Berwick Rangers (coz they are only English team in Scotland). ENGLISH FOOTBALL Tranmere Rovers Maghull FC Bootle FC Southport FC Chester City FC USA 'Sports' I dont give a toss about. As for Rugby Union v Rugby League. For me Union wins hands down. I too find League to be very stop/start. Union is much more of a flowing game.
  19. When Lescott went to City my first thought was that it was a daft decision because Hughes was always likely to be sacked and he could end up playing for a manager he hates (or hates him). I know he went there for the money but surely if youre happy at a club and playing well like he was with us, then why move?. Serves him right. Hope the new manager is a right c**t.
  20. From the position we are in anywhere in the top half will do. However if you look at the fixtures from the beginning of March until the end of the season ALL of those games are winnable. OK, so we wont win them all but we should do pretty well at the business end of the season. Hull (h) Birmingham (a) Bolton (h) Wolves (a) West Ham(h) Aston Villa (a) Blackburn (a) Fulham (h) Stoke (a) Portsmouth (h). Hardest game is away at Villa the rest should be a doddle
  21. Neill won your MOTM as soon as his name appeared on the team sheet, in fairness though he did play quite well. Johnny, Saha, Fellaini all did well too. In fact all of the team chipped in today so hard to pick out anyone, or single out anyone for a particularly bad performance. However, that Jo is a bit of a big girls blouse.
  22. Well, that answers that then. Cheers.
  23. Coleman was excellent. Tempted to pick Yobo for getting injured . If Coleman hadnt come on then we would have got sod all out of the game. Saha did well also, definitely a class above the likes of Jo and Yakubu.
  24. Great performance from the young lad but it begs the question why hasnt he played more. Instead Moyes has opted to play players out of position. Many Evertonians have been saying throw on the young lads and Coleman's performance is a prime example of why Moyes should do exactly that instead of the cautious, negative option of going for experienced players out of their preferred position.
  25. I'd take the short walk from Lime St to Central and then get the Northern line train to Kirkdale (only 3 stops away). Then its only a short 9-10 minute walk to Goodison (unless youre a dawdler). About which way to go, just follow.
