  1. A promising debut. By no means perfect but showed some nice touches especially going forward (as suggested earlier). Now if we could somehow fuse together Hibberts defensive ability with Jacobsens forward play.
  2. 3 points for Man of the Match. 1 point for 2nd. And thats your lot. (or the aforementioned 1 point for Man of the Match and bugger all for everyone else).
  3. Well said, Some good points there. Pienaar dribbling as normal without a flippin clue what to do at the end of it .... as normal. Did nowt today. why Moyes took so long to change things he only knows . Very frustrating!!. Someone needs to tell Jo to keep on his feet . Why he stayed down at the end I dont know, cost us 1 minute. And You can add Pienaar to the stay on your feet list. Jo (& saha) needs to learn to pass the ball harder .. Yep, Jo underhits far too many passes. Jacobsen was not the problem today . Thought he did OK overall. lacked Cahill . Very true, Are we turning into a one man team?????.
  4. I reckon Noah may get a few votes for this one. Thought Pienaar was useless but imagine he'll somehow get some votes despite many loose and wayward passes. Baines was one of the better players. Jags and Neville didnt do much wrong I suppose and Jacobsen while was by no means fantastic did show some good touches. I'll reserve my vote for when I've calmed down a bit.
  5. Shite all round, just about all on the pitch and Moyes too. That game was calling out for a sub after about 60 mins. Why only make the 1st sub at 85 mins is beyond me. :grrr:
  6. After first 10 minutes was looking good but have to say the half time verdict is Crap!!. Cant name anyone thats played that well. Jacobson has been just OK, Jags has been steady enough and it was a Great freekick by Baines. Pienaar has run around a lot but done bugger all with the ball. Jo is not a good footballer. Fellaini has been missing, Saha looks out of sorts. SHIT!! perhaps I'm being a bit too negative, We Will need to improve to get anything from this game. Gosling to come on and get the winner. (there thats a better attitude). :thumbsup_still:
  7. I see with the Champs League draw that Man Utd are playing their 2nd leg away in Portugal midweek before the FA Cup semi. That surely is a good news for us, isnt it?????. I hope Porto kick 'em off the field
  8. Cardiff City & Swansea City is why. Wrexham & Newport County are 2 other reasons. While Welsh teams are playing in the English leagues I see no reason why we shouldnt utilize The Millennium stadium in Cardiff.
  9. Should be Cardiff. It was good enough for the final for a few seasons, should be kept for both of the semis.
  10. Not when you stumble at the first hurdle like last time.
  11. As an Employee of EFC its obvious Moyes would want the CL spot. As a supporter I want silverware. Am I wrong for wanting that?. People often talk about money spoiling the game and with talk of finishing 4th being preferable to winning the FA Cup because of the influx of cash it will bring then its easy to see why.
  12. TUNCAY even!!. As suggested by Tricky Trev earlier. I've always rated him. However some dont. Mentioned him on another forum last year and got shouted down for even mentioning him. Didnt change my view though, I still think hes class.
  13. For Portsmouth it most likely was the summit. We are Everton and we have been to the summit before. From what youve said its like you think that by winning the FA CUP we will somehow follow in Portsmouth's footsteps and struggle the following season. Yes the Chumps League money would be nice BUT Who is to say its going to flow on to the team. Its possible it will pay a few debts off and Moyes will see very little of it. AND...Remember last time we finished 4th and got it the CL?. Didnt do us any good then did it.
  14. 1.) Man Utd 88 2.) Chelsea 86 3.) Liverpool 86 4.) Arsenal 73 5.) Villa 67 6.) Everton 64 7.) Man City 53 8.) West Ham 52 9.) Wigan 50 10.) Tottenham 44 11.) Bolton 44 12.) Fulham 40 13.) Portsmouth 40 14.) Hull 40 15.) Blackburn 39 16.) Stoke 39 17.) Sunderland 35 18.) Newcastle 34 19.) Middlesbrough 30 20.) West Brom 26 Hmmm, similar looking tables. I tried being as realistic as possible (ie. took off the blue tinted specs). Newc in bottom 3 would be funny, even funnier would be if West Brom somehow scrape out of it and all 3 North East teams get relegated. Unlikely I know but it would be amusing.
  15. And there speaks the voice of youth (I'm guessing there like). But I think people of my age (late 30's) and older perhaps view the FA CUP with more importance than younger folk (and maybe more importance than it deserves nowadays??). Sorry but I cant subscribe to the idea that finishing 4th would be like "winning the league". For me finishing 4th would be like... er, finishing 4th. But hey, thats just me.
  16. The FA CUP for me, that way at least the "noughties" wont be a barren decade for us and well, we all saw what can happen after an FA CUP win back in 1984 (ignore what happened after 1995 ) In fact if we dont win it then I believe it would be our 2nd most barren spell in our history. And if we win nowt for 3 seasons after this it WILL be our most barren period EVER!!!. And I dont want that. I know we need money and if we get in the chumps league it will mean more cash and in turn more chance of competing etc. But as we all know money DOES NOT guarantee success.
  17. Hard one to pick MotM but went with Pienaar but I will say this about him he quite often overhits simple passes. There were a couple of through balls he attempted v Stoke which looked easy to pull off but ran through to the goalie and nowhere near the intended destination.
  18. :gay: (thats for once supporting the R/S not for your "man crush"). At least you eventually saw sense. Its easy to understand "why Everton" for those of us who are 'born blue' but I find it very interesting to hear from people that are not from Liverpool or with a blue family history why they chose to support Everton. Keep 'em coming.
  19. It wasnt a conscious decision, as far as I can remember Ive ALWAYS been a blue, just as my Dad was and his Dad before him. Also my Mum is from Everton and I believe I have been blue since er "popping out" (or perhaps since going "in" - ewwww) :sick01: . I remember the odd thing from 1975-76 season but the first game I actually remember watching highlights of on sportsnight was the 1977 League Cup Final Replay v Aston Villa (not sure if 1st or 2nd replay). The next game I remember is that bloody "Clive Thomas" 1977 FA Cup semi Final v the R/S. We was robbed. The First game I went to at Goodison was v Arsenal in 1977, 2-0 to us with legends Andy King :king_right: and Bob Latchford :hairy: scoring. Also remember Pat Jennings :gay: making one of his trademark one handed saves (OK so he's not gay but he had big hands). I am Deffo in the "born a blue" catagory.
  20. Fellaini's not that good. Average at best. Some simple passes he tried to make on Sunday failed. A few times he didnt put enough pace on the pass, other times too much. And what was that backpass to THEIR goalie near the end?. His "attempted" through ball to Saha was SO misjudged it was embarrassing, schoolboy stuff. I'm thinking he's a bit shite and believe me I tried to like him. I still hope he'll come good, he's young and has time to improve (hope he improves so we can at least get some money back).
  21. Like most I wanted to avoid Man Utd BUT to put a positive spin on it, if we had got Arsenal (should they beat Hull) or Chelsea then a game at Wembley would be more of a home tie for them, at least Man Utd will have to travel down like us.
  22. I know Saha changed the game but I went with Lescott because he saved our bacon on at least 2 occasions. Without him we'd be going up to the North East for a replay.
  23. Went with Saha just because at least he looked interested (for the short time he was on).
  24. What do I think of Fellaini?. CLUMSY !!. No, UNBELIEVABLY CLUMSY !!!. Lets face it he's not the sharpest tool in the shed is he?. His only saving grace is that he is young so may come good.
