  1. Jagielka, Pienaar, Baines and Cahill all played well. I'll go with Jagielka for saving our arses on more than one occasion (especially the one off the line). Howard also did well when required. Quite sad that versus the bottom side and at Goodison that a defender is even in the running for MOTM. A few other things: Fellaini is a clumsy fucker. Castillo is simply not good enough. Jo slows up the play a bit too much and a few times instead of playing the simple ball tried to be clever and then lost it. Neville was quite poor when in an attacking position. Hope we dont persist with Jags taking free kicks in front of goal, PLEASE leave it to Baines.
  2. I'll second that. Robben was their best player. Overall Real were crap. Liverpool deserved their win and fair play to them (I still hate them though)
  3. Great player in his day but what a twat. He doesnt half come up with stupid suggestions, at least this isnt quite as bad as him wanting to make football a non-contact sport. Does anyone know how long this muppet is in charge (ie. when the next vote for president is) ????????????????????????
  4. Rodwell was the best player in the first half. Comfortable on the ball, quick to react for the first goal and alert at the back. But Arteta was immense especially in the second half and he gets my vote. Anichebe had a good game. Why doesnt he run at defences more often?.
  5. Ah, so there has been a plan B all along Robert Elstone recently said - "Plan B would be to re-evaluate what we have at Goodison and make largely cosmetic changes for very marginal gains."
  6. Usually you would say that a player coming back from serious injury will be too cautious and wont be the same player BUT in Vaughan's case I think it will benefit him (if he takes the cautious approach) as he simply goes in a bit too enthusiastically to his own disadvantage. True, we all love a player that shows as much determination as Vaughan but he has been his own worst enemy at times. I hope on his return that he tones it down a bit and lets his football do the talking and not his youthful enthusiasm.
  7. Furthermore on that classless tit Benitez, I see Robbie Keane has said "I've got more pride and dignity. I'll let people say what they want. I don't have to prove myself to anyone." Suggesting (like Moyes recently) that Benitez has no dignity. Also had a dig by saying "The good thing is I'm at a fantastic club with a fantastic manager who respects his players - if you are doing well he tells you. That's something I'm looking forward to." Perhaps it requires you to read between the lines but seems clear enough to me what hes saying (without actually saying it). I like him just a little bit more now
  8. What a footballing display, excellent stuff. Just about everyone played well, Osman was the only one I was a bit disappointed with, quite a few loose balls. He seemed a bit off the pace. Jô, Baines, Arteta, Cahill (how did he miss that first chance?), Gosling. All were very impressive. One thing that stood out for me was the spirit in the side, the way we worked for each other AND the way evryone was enjoying their football. You could just tell that the players have made Jô feel at home and Jô seemed to be having a ball- I bet he's dreading going back to City at the end of the season (methinks he may submit a transfer request).
  9. just watched it again and that TO :gay: :gay: ES is a big girls blouse. The amount of falling over he did was embarrassing. Just couldnt handle Jags (and Neville). Thought Rodwell looked solid and comfortable on the ball, looks a better prospect than Gosling who had a few ordinary touches to begin with but got better the longer he was on. Fellaini was quite awful in that game. Everyone else did well though especially the back four. Oh and Arteta had a great game, another who got into the game the more it went on, enjoyed watching it a second time, its amazing what you miss when youre as nervous as hell.
  10. He really is one of the most ungracious gits English football has seen.
  11. The 1 chance the R/S had in the 1st half (Howard's only action in 1st half) came about when the ball was stupidly given away. Does anyone know who it was that gave it away? I though it was the "faultless Jagielka" but not 100% sure. Anyway, despite that I agree Jags for MOTM or maybe Gosling for simply putting a wide smile on my face. It may last a while too
  12. Call me negative (I see it as being realistic) but I see this game as damage limitation, especially if Cahill and Fellaini are missing. Still we have a good back four but cant imagine keeping them out for 90 mins (or 98 mins as may be the case if 0-0 afetr 90). MAN UTD have kept something like 18 clean sheets out of 22 games played, will be an achievment just to score. While I'm not at all confident my hopes will raise by kick off. On another point, Ferguson has said ""David Moyes has not got the credit he deserves," "On each occasion (games v the "big four") the post-match analysis has concentrated on the frailties of Everton's opponents rather than the achievement of Moyes' side. Ferguson feels it is time to put the record straight. "When you take everything into consideration, he has done an incredible job. "He has not had the resources of other clubs" "The signings he has made have been terrific and it means that he has continuity for the next few years." The R/S say he's an arrogant so and so (which I agree to a point) BUT he has miles more class than the muppet called Rafa that they call a manager.
  13. Cahill for me. Caused them problems all night and was our only goal threat. He fought well and won a few free kicks an all. Won most battles in the air as well as a few defensive headers. Pity about his foot injury, plus he seemed to have a bit of trouble with his shoulder, constantly holding it towards the end, hope neither injury is too serious. Great ball in from Baines for the goal. Arteta's delivery still seems a little bit rusty at free kicks. I know Arteta is great but I wish we could mix it up and have Baines take some free kicks.

    Arsenal

Agree with you there. Simple ball to through ball Anichebe and he goes and whacks it to their goalie. We were comfortable for virtually the whole game, then as the "3 minutes injury time" comes over the tannoy we go into self destruct mode
  15. You dont half sound like a R/S. Talk of divine right is their style not ours. Maybe there was a mix up in the maternity ward when you were born.
  16. Er, did I say that he hasnt deserved the MOTM when he's won?. No!. In fact I too agree that he has deserved the MOTM's he's won. Whether he wins the MOTM is immaterial but he will nearly ALWAYS get votes, Becasue I believe (rightly or wrongly) that there are some fans (however few that maybe) that when in doubt will be quite likely to vote for Jags.
  17. After the league game in which we played well and created a few chances the Cup game was disappointing. We created 1 chance (and thankfully scored). Yes, the defence was great but we were next to useless in midfield and attack. Not once did we even give ourselves half a chance in the second half. Not 1 shot, not even a corner. The way they were playing (or the way we were letting them play) I expected them to score. Still, happy with a draw but we need to improve on that toothless display and the reward, AT Home in the next round against....DONCASTER (OK, maybe Villa)
  18. Jags and Lescott were the best for us by far but I've gone with Lescott (the goal helps) but also I think theres a bit of "if in doubt pick Jags as MOTM mentality". Yes, he deserves most of them hes had but theres some where I'm not so sure. Worst for us were Castillo and also thought Osman had an awful game. Oh and Pienarr needs to learn how to fall over without flailing his arm all over the place, even when he is fouled he trys his hardest to make it look like a dive.
  19. A red telling us Blues to move on. Thats the pot calling the kettle black.
  20. CLASSIC!! Uncanny resemblance AND POSE. Phil Lynott died 1986. Fellaini born 1987. Who believes in reincarnation?.
  21. Thats disgraceful. You know as a father you are duty bound to bring your kids up blue Dont want to hear any of this "its her decision" lark. Your wife has basically declared war with that "gift". Time to start teaching your daughter whats right and just, from there its a natural progression
  22. http://z.about.com/d/worldsoccer/1/0/Z/6/-...ne-fellaini.jpg ^^^^^^^ I think he looks a lot harder with short hair ^^^^^^^
  23. As long as Skirtl plays as badly as he did last week we'll be alright.
  24. Dont want to appear negative BUT... I expect the fans at that the cup game will be a bit more feisty. Because of the 1-1 result some LFC fans will be bitter (despite them thinking that they are immune from bitterness) and chants will be thrown around. I think it inevitable that some unsavoury ones will be sung from both sides (but we'll probably only hear about the blue chants in the media).
