Yakubu and Jagielka!.....Probably the worst Everton signings for years!! Bring on Baines and Anichebe.....please!

Only one down!......Bit lucky! But were still in it. Take Yakubu off and bring on Anichebe.McFadden will cause trouble 2nd half and Pienaar is looking pretty good! Lescott looking decent......but no corners or free kicks! Arteta needs to be brought into the game......Jagielka needs to be brought off

Someting not mentioned much about our first leg draw was the delay!OK, it was the same for both teams but Metalist had already had major culture change/travel/ and were I think less likely to be bothered by an extra 30mins or so!Where as like Howard said during that delay the Everton players had had their energy drinks, protein snacks, warm ups etc,etc all as Howard said aimed at peaking for the kick off time!RUBBISH!!?I'm not sure! the extra tension from the crowd expecting so much....everyone thinking it would be easy!Nothing seemed to go that well even straight from kick off.....to be fair they(Metalist) were really quite poor, but we made them look an average outfit. As the game went on you could feel the pressure rising it's no wonder AJ missed those penalties. Kick off normal time, our strongest team out and an earlly goal for say AJ and I think we would have got at least four goals........BUT WE DIDN'T. NOW we have nerves for a different reason!ie we might just have blown it (the first leg result) but I feel some big displays from one or two of our lads are overdue and it should be our night. An early goal for us then sitting back will be asking for trouble! If we start well, go for the throat. AJ will make a great sub.....but only to give Yakubu another chance to prove himself. Penalties anyone?.......Arteta, Yakubu are dead certs....AJ anyone
  6. If I were the FA I'd take a look at Robbie Savage......All that hair and still can't play!!So the drugs not 100% successful!
  7. Negativity seems to be a theme on this forum as there is constant criticism of Moyes as well. Not me mate!.....I have the Blue tinted glasses firmly nailed to my head!...But! I can see that Neville is not at his best in midfield.Whilst there is no option ie injury crisis, then so be it bit it's not pretty is it? Example, the match Sunday against Borough, the ball broke for Neville in midfield and he advanced from the half way line towards their penalty area.A couple of players made runs and the defenders backed off him!....What did he do? Kinda turned sideways and went looking for something easy across the pitch!!!He had no intention of trying to create.Ok he has in the past made decent runs and played good passes(though not enough for a top 6 team!)....but I think the Borough players kinda felt safe letting Neville run with the ball ie no threat!! Arteta, Pienaar, Gravesen and Cahill in the same position would have drawn the defenders to make space for others and or would have had the skill to create something. Neville, loads of experence! not a bad right back! Not a good midfielder! and not a particulary good captain, decent squad player when everyones fit! Just my opinion....through my BLUE tinted glasses...

I hope that we can at least win 1-0 but I think it will be 0-0 unfortunately. Don't worry mate! Their two first choice central defenders are out for the game, were going to get a few corners and free kicks! Arteta's foot............................Lescotts head...........................GOAL! SIMPLE!! I have it on good authority that Lescott has set himself the target of 30 goal's this season!

Yeh good luck to all travelling Evertonians.....and of course the lads! They will try and hit us on the break....but hey! we can never play as bad as the first leg and with a couple of players back we should pinch it.Force a few corners and let LESCOTT do the rest
  10. As he adjusts to the physical side of prem football it will take time to see the best from him.Let's don't get too carried away because he's just scored a goal(though he didn't just score it he also helped create it with that clever back heel)....He has improved with games, who knows how good he could be! Middlesborough were a tough physical side, against a smaller less physical midfield he could really be impressive. Get through thursday night in Europe and into the group stage he could be more than handy against the less physical european teams! His goal was a strange one! From the angle of his body it didn't look like he was after the right corner!!......if he meant it to go in there then it was a brilliant finish. That goal will give him real confidence....let's hope he comes good.
  11. Poor performance, great result! Howard did fine, Hibbert played well as did Stubbs and Lescott.I thought Baines looked a bit more nervous than usual. All in all the defence did well considering the cover they got from midfield, time and time again the non exsistant midfield let Borough through. Sure Arteta is pure class, but Neville was terrible and with Jagielka still not really geting to grips with his job and Piennar looking light weight the midfield was over run. Up front McFadden fought and played quite well, and Yakubu! well the less said about the power house the better......though to be honest they would both have benifitted from a better midfield. We rode our luck, when a draw would have been a fair result. But hey! 3 points is great going into wednesday. Today! Piennar will get better, that goal will help.Gravesen and Cahill for Neville and Jagielka and a fit Vaughan and AJ will be better up front. Cahill, Gravesen, AJ and Vaughan all potential match winners, add those to the free scoring Lescott at corners and most teams will have their hands full.
  12. I have to say I do want him as manager but some things I do really hate about him Bad Things He loves Phil Neville whos utter shite. (poor captain choice)....This is true! His tactics always encourage long balls....Eeeerrrmmm, not always! Not much knowledge of Europe..True!....but how do you get Knowledge? To cautious with his money for my liking. Not his money lad....It's the Banks! Good Things Knows the premiership well and how to win games.....As tomorrow will prove!! He's good at finding lower league players.....YEP! Gets 110% out of all the players he has....Physically impossible..(except perhaps Neville) Seems to get the right tactics against the better teams..Except Man Utd, Chelsea and Arsenal! Seems a nice man and not a grumpy twit like half the premiership managers..yes he's a very nice man!! Well balanced arguement though Blue4Ever!
  13. Moyesy!.....Tactically useless?Useless or not, he has moved Everton along! Before you boot him out take a look at who you might get instead. Most of them will probably have finished below Moyes in the last few seasons, and certainly haven't managed a team to Champions league qualification and european compotiton this season. He's got four match winners out injured, Arteta, Cahill, Gravesen and Vaughan. His first choise striker AJ's having problems(can hardly blame Moyes for that)He wanted( thought he'd got) then lost Fernandes! His first choice right backs had a dip in form(Hibbert)... First choice goalkeeper's injured.....luckypools stand in goalkeeper conceded two goals in mid week against Reading who got thrashed today!!So first choice keepers are what you really want! Probably didn't want to spend stupid money....even though he spent £11million on Yakubu, so he hasn't been like some of the other prem managers.Yet were holding our own! Pass the ball around the Borough...Yak scores a couple....couple of the injured come back!.........Win in Europe....Arteta returns, and we keep the ball down a bit more. Things wont look so bad then!..........
  14. Good days work for Everton when they got Baines.Still young and from reading the report it looks like he's not the finished article yet(seems to still have some self doubt). So when he really gets himself sorted he could well be a top defender. Dinner ladies favorite hey!!.......My nan was the dinner lady at my school!!...Not easy getting extra large helpings of toffee cream tart,Chocolate sponge with chocolate custard etc, really hated it
  15. Didn't Luton used to have a plastic pitch!.....Even the great 80's team hated going there. Or was it Queens Park Rangers?....Anyway plastics a thing of the past. Another game we should win!.Was Sheffield Weds easy?
  16. Looking forward to the game on Sunday I hope our little blip is over. If you mean since the away win at a poor Bolton!then yes it has been a little blip, but if you mean since we played well(and that was probably against Spurs)...then it's more than a little blip! OH I only hope the players don't think like a lot of the fans that Middlesborough will roll over for us because they havn't had a great start.Because if they do(and I'm sure Moyes wont let them).......Then were heading for 0-0 or a 1-1. They need to approach this game as if it were against Arsenal or Chelsea, be 100% up for it. No game is easy......look at our european experience last week.In the present climate 3 points is vital....a draw at home is a bad result. If you can grab/steal/fluke a few 3 pointers whilst a lot of the others are drawing, then your flying! This looks like being the most open championship for years.....drop loads of home points and it could be a crap season. If the players are up for it and the fans do what a Goodison crowd can do, and Borough are anything other than at their best....we probably should win. McFadden and Yakubu will start....an early Everton goal for either of them and we should be able to cash in on the confidence factor. A good victory should set us up nicely for what is a huge game on Wednesday.
  17. Happpy Birthday Rhys , Bless ya Son. Must have been a really tough day for his family! From what I've seen, Rhys's short life was blessed with great parents and family. In contrast to the low life that shot him....may HE never find peace!
  18. Wer the fuck is Yakubu, 11 million pound player and our best striker He's on the bench mate!......Can only go on what I've heard and the little bit I've seen but a fully fit Vaughan would at the moment get the nod from me.AJ's work rate alongside a free scoring Vaughan would also keep Yakubu on the bench. I hope he(Yakubu) within a couple of weeks, makes me look a twat for leaving him on the bench I like the formation but it wouldnt suit them players there.. Yeh I like the formation....agree they may not be quite the right positions for those players.
  19. There will be sightings of Madeline for years....until she's found!
  20. ........................................Howard.. .....Neville..........................................................Baines. ......................Yobo.........................Lescott(capt). ..................................Jagielka... ......Atreta....................Graveson...............Cahill. ...................Vaughan....................AJ. High balls don't work at the moment, and anyway Vaughans good in the air if any come in!Vaughan and AJ's speed and movement would have most opponents struggling. An up to speed Jags and mad dog Gravesen could release Arteta and Cahill to make trouble.
  21. Guess Moyes will start with McFadden and the Yak on Sunday, and why not! AJ will sit and wait his turn now, bang a few in in training and feel less pressure when he comes on as a sub.Let's hope McFadden keeps this up and the Yak improves, could one day see AJ and Vaughan on the bench...that would be some option. Thing is can McFadden keep it up in the prem?
  22. If we were 4-0 then yeah. But this team are BOTTOM of the Chanpionship. We ARE poor and have played poorly YET again. Sadly true!.....BUT a win's a win and will help confidence,he will see that he's got to drop out the odd player, this will be more easy when Arteta, Cahill, Gravesen and Vaughan are fit.
  23. plus nuno has a face you could market, unlike neville carsley etc. Dont ask why i just posted that. Look mate!......It takes a brave man to come out in public....the whole forums behind you! As opposed to being slightly in front This crush(that's all it is) will pass!...I had an Andy King Panini 78 sticker on one of my school books......and I'm now married with kids!!
  24. VDM's not exactly what you'd really want to see in a fully fit Everton team/squad.... ..but tonight that's not what we've got.Moyes should show he's a big enough man to give hima nother chance and VDM should in return have a go and earn some money! An odd goal can win a game!....we at the moment can't create..VDM at his best can! a couple of perfect through balls to AJ would have the fans singing his name! A clean sheet....couple of goals for AJ.....VDM playing a staring role...Yakubu storming all over the pitch.......MMMmmm Red wine in the afternoon.........LOVELY
  25. Ok....It may be a bit early to expect Yakubu to be fully up and running(why is it?)..but you would expect him to be at least showing signs that he is a class forward.AJ at the moment needs that bit of luck, with maybe the other players going 100% to create something for him......Yakubu at 100% Trouble is tonight that Wednesday will really be up for it.....BANANA SKIN lying very close to where we are putting both feet!
