  1. Pienaar!..............................get Gerrards lawyer.
  2. I've watched Parkinson, and see many a guest easily avoid questions and run rings around him.I never really saw him as a ruthless interviewer, he even got stuffed by a big bird . Lineker was being paid as a football pundit/expert etc, I'm sure Moyes didn't go on expecting to be interviewed.Maybe your right and Moyes should have expected some searching questions?...I don't think it was the time or place. Even Dalglish got a hard ride from so called 'interviewers', they set out to trap and piss him off.....pointless! he was quite adept at making himself look a fool. They shoud have just left him alone, he was doing a great job!
  3. So he's paid to ask questions, Moyes was hardly going to come out and say," yes I wanted the Spurs job, Everton have no money, the chairman is a tightwad ", he made it obvious he wasn't about to be drawn in, he stated he wanted to win things at Everton...but still Lineker tries to twist things......so he did the same to Redknapp, who gives a fuck. So he was only doing his job, bit like the gutter press, that's what they do, push people, twist things......just doing their jobs!Yeh that makes it ok then
  4. Moyes loves Everton, he wants to stay, he wants to win things here, he probably has as much chance of that happening here as at Spurs.Everton are bigger than Tottenham, I'm sorry Gary, but that's just about it.....let it drop! One day Moyes will leave, I hope your making a crisp advert and are the last person to know. You scored a lot of goals for Everton in one season, thanks for that.....now shut up
  5. Didn't he once put his family before playing for England....footballs not more important than life and death! Big man, big heart. RIP Gordon West.
  6. Sadly everybody and everything has it's price, Jags talking about it doesn't really change anything. His mistake was saying £20million plus would possibly get things moving, he should have laid the foundation at around the £30million mark. Every team is a selling team, if the price is righ It's one of the worst kept secrets in football that Everton are skint, and so we move on with what we've got.
  7. Just do the obvious!.......Get him back. The team play better when he's on the pitch. He brings the best out of Baines, if there's a beter player in that role, for less than what Pienaar will cost, then buy him. Our squad is still paper thin, there will be plenty of pressure on Jelavic not to get injured, but if the worst happens and we have to face a number of games witout him, then I'd rather do it with Pienaar pulling strings for the lesser strikers we may need to field. Pienaar discovered last season just how much he loves Everton, now let him show us.
  8. So your saying that your owners are only allowing their manager (Dalglish/ Rodgers) to spend/reinvest the profit that the team/club are making..........a bit like Man City
  9. So, finishing below us this season was a big underachievement, does that mean finishing 3/4 places above us having spent mega millions more and paying sky high wages is a major success, even when you haven't actually won anything. So a major achievement for liverpool is to spend a fourtune and finish above their skint neighbour.....wow! You can and have fluked the odd cup win, fair play to you, it's those that have kept your profile high amongst glory hunters, but you have to go back nearly as far as us to your last league title. As the wise old Brian Clough said "he would swap his european cup, FA cup and league cup wins for a championship medal" You can't argue with your league position, except to say thank god you had generous owners, else where might you have finished.I know it must hurt to see an impoverished Everton above you. You may finish above us next season, but let's be honest, it will probably depend on how much you spend. You are a mid-table team with your second lot of rich owners, your very, very lucky. Most Evertonians would love an investor, but if it meant becoming the circus lfc have become, then personally, I'd rather not.
  10. liverpool had lots of lovely money to spend last season, and spend it Kenny did, still couldn't finish above a team with a skint chairman and a loser of a manager! For all yor massive outlay, huge wage bill etc, your going to need more than an odd carling cup win for kids to start throwing their money at you. You didn't answer my question, if Brendon/liverpool finish below skint Everton again next season, do the yanks sack him?
  11. So if FSG give him enough money to buy your way back to top 4 you'll be happy! If they'd given your last two managers enough money and time they could well have bought top 4.Sure Kenny and Roy would have needed a shed full of cash, but in the end ENOUGH cash and ENOUGH time and they could well have done it. We all understand that it wont be fair if your not given enough cash to get yourselves back above Everton. It will be hard to swallow when you all see how well Rodgers handles the press and the pr side of the job, it sure is going to make King Kenny look like a prick! Rodgers inherits a multi million pound squad, he will be given megabucks to spend, maybe he can buy you a 4th or 5th position or even better....does that make him a great manager, or a manager who can buy top players and pay top wages? If you finish below Everton again next season, does he survive!
  12. I've been getting some pretty good vibes.....and it's all down to my new little dog!, (kids dog really) Nine month old westie, walks morning and night have seen me lose weight and gain a very good friend.Been through the baby thing so picking up the mess really isn't a problem! Fellow lady dog owner even asked if my little puppy wanted to play with hers in her back garden ....as it looked like her dog wanted to eat mine, I declined! I'm now going to pop across to what grinds your gears.....to talk about people who DON'T pick up their dogs Sh!t....and owners who have their dogs off the lead and allow them to attack mine, kicked two off the other day, never realised my old football skills would come in handy whilst out walking the dog!......sorry didn't make it across to the other thread.
  13. A season or so ago, Rodwell was going to be the next Rooney, people were talking stupid money, my point was that if that kind of price was mentioned by anyone wanting to take a punt on him, I'd let him go over Baines.Simply because Rodwell hasn't lived up to the hype and there's every chance he may not improve on what we've seen.In that case £15million would be perfect.Sure I'd like him to stay and become the player we always hoped he would be. I don't know who would pay £15million for Rodwell....any more than I know anyone who pay £20million for Baines, I was saying that today if these figures were offered, I know which I'd take.Baines is proven and we have no decent cover.
  14. Donovan didn't do so well second time around, so I'm not sure he can have the impact we would like. I guess his arrival does give the fans and squad a boost, and it's always nice to hear a player actually wants to come back. Maybe just having him at Everton brings in the fans from the USA (as we've seen) which can only be a good thing.
  15. Pienaar is good, he's even better with Baines behind him. Baines must be the best attacking left back in the country, penalties and free kicks are a major bonus. £20 million should be a fair starting price. I'd sell Rodwell for £15million and keep Baines.
  16. Some are saying "What kind of player can the new manager attract ?"....well I'd say bloody greedy ones who don't really give a shit about the club! Any manager they employ will be given big money to appease the fans for getting rid of ' the king '.The owners will pray he spends it more wisely than Dalglish. Gerrard and Carrigher are nearing the end, Reinas form is poor, a couple of thier better players want to leave, they do though still have the four players Dalglish spent £100 million on............awkward
  17. Well I hope Moyes is doing one of two things, either pushing up his price, or looking at the role of motivator/super sub. Tim would be a great player to bring on with 20 minute to go when we need a goal. His form picked up towards the end of the season but to be fair it had to. I'm sure Tims a pretty good bloke to have around in the changing room, you'd think he's got plenty of chat, games are sometimes won or lost even before the players go out on the pitch.Probably make a good assistant manager in a couple of years. I just can't really see him starting that many games in the future.
  18. WHAT!..........£35 million.....that's more than our first team cost!
  19. As an Evertonian, I find it hard to accept Carrolls name amongst those as usless signings! He scored the friggin goal that knocked us out of the FA cup, sure they lost in th final, but a goal that gets his team to a cup final is probably worth £1 million.Seen all round the world in a an FA cup final ! That goal alone goes along way towards paying off that massive £15 million pounds they paid for him.
  20. Next season could be fun! Everton FC, "The peoples club" skint, but happy!
  21. Perhaps you have said many, many times before, that," Moyes is not the only manager in the world to work with limited finances"....but, Moyes has done so for the past few seasons, smallish squad, smallish budget! he has pushed Everton to usually finish above all but the big money teams time after time. He's proven himself at getting the best from a small squad.I'm afraid that's what we are a massive football club with a small squad and a small budget. I don't want to entrust Everton to someone who "just might" do better for a season.
  22. How do you KNOW what Moyes thought? The players were the ones on the pitch, they didn't have to sit back, they didn't have to stop pushing for a second goal, they didn't have to make a suicidal back pass. They (the players) were responsible for their own actions. The goal we scored forced liverpool to push more, to attack us rather then probe us.We didn't handle it, the PLAYERS bottled it. Some of the football first half against Newcastle was excellent, that was down to the players, they wanted it, they did it.....NO credit to Moyes(other than the fact he picked the team)....so when they were poor second half to liverpool, how was that Moyes' fault? A Moyes should go thread!..........I'm betting the punters pushing for this, would be the first ones to bleat when/if it we wrong!
  23. Please, please, please.........don't sack Dalglish
  24. Football management is surely like most occupations (except for the wages).....you get better as you gain experience. Moyes is still pretty young, he's made mistakes, with a bit of luck he will learn by them. Get rid of Moyes?........With our present squad and with little money to spend, who could do better? I don't believe we couldn't attract decent managers, we pay Moyes a small fortune, I just believe sticking with Moyes to be the best option. Dalglish could be available soon, I know who I'd rather have. He could have been to proud to bring back Pienaar and he could have done like other managers and not took a chance with Jelavic........David Moyes will do for me.
  25. Great finish to the season, last days should always be like this! To be honest I'd rather it have ben United over City, but they did it, and we can't argue with that.Sure they threw a lot of money at it, but then so did liverpool! Nice way for us to finish, with a good win against a team with everything to play for. Next season could well be a good one, get Pienaar back where he belongs, get a whole season from him and Baines, Gibson may well keep improving with games, Fellainis' best is yet to come, our defence should have at least another good season and Jelavic could score us a hat full. If Moyes can sign another couple like Jelavic and Gibson, then we should do ok. Some praise to should go to King Kenny......please may he not be sacked this summer!
