  1. Don't get too excited yet mate! Poor ref's, freak own goals, players (gerrard) playing above himself....red cards, dubious penalties (given and not given, depending on who you are)....etc! So you see, there are plenty of reasons why we might not win, including our players not turning up. Sure some rs are nervous, rightly so, level playing field, good ref and of course we can beat them.To be honest they probably have to win or their season is a disaster (minor cup win excluded). They have players that only big money can buy, they have a king and their second lot of big money owners, sure they MUST win. We on the other hand, can fuc% all that up for them, that's why they are nervous.
  2. Our friend says we haven't won anything under Moyes....well I watched a football match last night and Everton under Moyes did win something, they won a game of football.Though to be fair it wasn't really that difficult. Didn't we send Sunderland down in the 76-77 season......sorry about that. Bet you lot love playing us!
  3. How nice to watch a game and actually be relaxed! Can only echo what's been said, cetainly the best game from Cahill for an age, he seems to click with Jelavic, who I believe will only get better. There seems a great team spirit at the moment, that's something you cant buy luckypool!! The pressure is all on the rs, they HAVE to win.....we're the ones without a pot to piss in. They will obviously pick up their game for us, it's such a big game for them. The peoples final, Everton v Spurs.
  4. Going to miss Pienaar! That said, I think we've got enough to beat Sunderland. Looking forward to the Baines free kicks, also the Sunderland fans hate Cahill, the script is written!
  5. They are truely in safe hands.......long live the king!
  6. If we only buy one player next season I hope it's Pienaar, and I'd say he makes Baines look a better player.
  7. People not happy with the team selection, Swansea doing well, probably can mean only one thing.......an Everton victory!
  8. So, what would you like to see happen, in regards to Moyes?
  9. Some good point in there, we must remember Sunderland are pretty much on form, they did seem to get quite a bit of help from the ref and their goal was a hit and hope.Sure that wasn't a great Everton performance, but if we had played as well as we could and the ref hadn't been an arse we would be in the last 4.Time to cut the players and Moyes some slack, we have a new striker still settling in, I'd say he's looking like he can do a job for us. The replay will be very hard, but I don't see any reason why we can't beat them.
  10. Doesn't sound like Moyes actually wants to leave Everton! It's a safe well paid job, he seems to enjoy being Everton manager and he is highly respected by fellow prem managers. The chairman certainly wont sack him and he knows he starts most seasons with the chance of Europe and a cup run. The only pressure he has at Everton are the self inflicted ones and the unrest of the fans. I would think he's safe enough in the knowledge that when he leaves he can pick up another well paid exciting job, I'd say our Mr Moyes sleeps well at night. Can't see Man Utd wanting him as number one and Celtic with Rangers in the mire offer him easy trophies, so out of those two it would be Celtic. All other prem teams outside the top 5 or so, could really offer him no more of a challange than he gets at Everton, and the teams within the top 5 (money clubs) probably like Utd, wouldn't want him! Moyes is here (I think) for a few more years yet.The one thing that could change that would be massive fan unrest.
  11. Ref was poor, we were even worse than him!! Where's the threat from open play? Without Pienaar, we are a dead ball team.A few pretty passes, followed by running into someone or a shit cross.
  12. surely there weren't seats behind the goal where the crush happened. Didn't they open the outer gates because of the danger to crowds as pressure built up outside the ground? The fans then surged down through into the middle section, I guess with and without tickets, drunk and sober alike. They weren't to know that at the other end were innocent kids being crushed. The police, the fans and stadium officals were all to blame. I bet nearly 100% of those killed weren't drunk and they were there in good time, there must be a lot of guilt for those pushing from the back especially if they were pissed and had no ticket. Any member of the press that took photos of those people against the wire...well I hope they still have nightmares!
  13. You ask are we capable of beating the likes of Spurs and Chelsea.......check the results in the recent few weeks! Too much credit is being given to liverpool for the other night, we were disjointed and rusty, that made them look quite a bit better than if we'd started with a confident 1st eleven.Gerrard was fired up and he inspired his team mates, that was the major difference. I also would rather if we had to lose one game have the victory against Sunderland, I sure as hell hope that happens. A good win might just get Moyes out of jail. Can we beat Spurs and Chelsea sure......can we beat liverpool if Gerrard inspires them again, we can if we pose more of a threat up front and don't give Gerrard the freedom he had the other night. Could well be an Everton V Stoke final ! You say Everton fans treat the derby as a cup final, I know a few reds who regard the Everton game as one they must win, same thing surely.
  14. I honestly believe that Moyes tried to pull a fast one! What do I mean?.....I think like he (Moyes) thought what you were obviously thinking ' a dog shit liverpool side' here for the taking, why I can even rest a few players and beat these, that will make me look really clever........Just one problem 'gerrard', he single handedly ripped up that script! at the same time he bloody well inspired that 'dog shit of a side'....and made our team look like .....' dog shit '. I'm not of the opinion that the Everton players didn't give it a go, most of them did have a go, some were a bit rusty a couple were off form and the tactics weren't right, add those to the Gerrard factor and you get 3-0. The two front boys just didn't work, Rodwell didn't perform (not the same as not trying).....giving Gerrard plenty of space to do his business, he's been saving up for that kind of performance, but even he probably couldn't believe the space he was allowed. Moyes must be kicking himself right now, I don't think he allowed for the rs to be so fired up, he thought they would be playing with the fear of a bad run.Two big lads up front would scare them, well it didn't. what would have scared them would have maybe been a proven goalscorer up front with 5 in midfield and Ossie moving up behind the striker, or even Cahill who is always up for the rs! We were good at 4-5-1 when Cahill was at his best, those days are gone, surely we have the squad to play different styles.Just get the right players in the right positions. Please Mr Moyes, please don't ever gamble on a derby game ever again......and have Gerrard man marked every time he gets into our half, if possible not by Rodwell !
  15. I'd say the reason we lost yesterday was simple......Gerrard! There's a thread on here asking a simple question, Gerrard or Fellaini.....I'd say the answer was pretty obvious. That's not a great liverpool team, and we at our strongest would have had a much better chance. The major difference last night was Gerrard, he pulled strings, showed team mates what to do and where to go, he was box to box, he was fired up......he scored three goals!! Against him we had a rusty Rodwell, there was only likely to be one result. Fellaini had some good moments, but on that showing Gerrard was light years ahead.Gerrard has practicly carried liverpool for the past few years and nearly always plays well against us, the only consolation is he's getting on in years and to be honest he can't be replaced. Seriously, last night, we weren't that great, but I don't think liverpool were that great.....but they were driven, driven by a player who has to be probably the best of his generation. We didn't just give him space last night, he bloody well created it for himself. He's had bad games, but last night he WAS the difference. We need to move on and hope Rodwell or Barkley are 80% as good as him. Where would liverpool be without him?
  16. After that shit.........something to smile about
  17. Dear Mr Moyes............PICK YOUR BEST TEAM.........and worry about the weekend on Friday night. Too many changes unsettles the whole team, even those who kept their places. I still believe on a level playing field your a better manager than Dalglish....but tonight you fuc%ing blew it.
  18. Pienaar back would be good for me! If he'd been playing in that first half against Spurs, I think we would have been more than one up by halftime. If we could play the whole game Tuesday like we did in THAT first half, I think we would be too good for them....but this is luckypool, we will probably end up with ten men (Fellaini most likely to be on the end of some dives). They have the money and they have a king, but the passion may well be all Blue, we will need it against their highly paid mega stars. This could be the game for Cahill, he needs to prove his starting place, a couple of goals at the kop end wouldn't hurt! It wouldn't suprise me if we did win....just can't see us getting through the game without getting a player sent off, and the rs diving for a penalty or three. The clever money will be on the draw, I'd take that and a win over Sunderland than the other way round. I think whatever the result Dalglish is treading water and should never have gone back. The knives will be out for him by the end of the season, a win for us Tuesday would just make it happen sooner....shame because I'd like him to stay for life
  19. For me between Jonny and Osman, Osman just get's it for that fantasic assist with the goal.
  20. Great first half, against what should have been a very decent Spurs team. They couldn't live with our pace, passion and passing, the second half was sadly only average, but good enough to see them off! Read on that rs forum some prat wants Dalglish to be given at least two years.......please God make it FIVE!
  21. If you were in the business of buying a player today, surely the question is what can that player do for me know and over the next 3 years or so.In that case you would buy Fellaini. Over the past few years Gerrard has been liverpool, to be honest what would they have done without him in his prime? Fellaini is slightly handicapped in that he is likely to me in a midfield with the likes of Gibson, Neville and Cahill etc, Gerrard on the other hand has had ( partly due to liverpool paying probably on average £20,000 more per week) better midfield players around him, thus creating more space. The trade mark Gerrard surge forward followed by either a rasping shot or a slight dink of the ball to a highly paid striker, would that have been possible with opponents marking him closer?....better players around you creates space, maybe makes you look better. Gerrard was class....with a bit of luck Fellaini will be! (he isn't as good as Gerrard in his prime). Fellaini in a better team with players around him to give him space and time would be awesome. Gerrard will struggle for a first team place next season, unless the rs are happy with mid-table.
  22. Could well be a good book, he was when at his best, the best goalkeeper in the world. It will probably be the fact that he was an 'introvert' that will make the book different from all the others. His take on the wonderfull mid 80's and the break up of what was the best club team in Europe, not to mention his rise from bin man to world great should be worth a read. I hope it makes him some decent money.
  23. Zoo, just a quick one, BIG cats ( black panthers)....DO exist in the English country side. One ran across in front of my van years ago.Wonderfull looking creature, I would suggest the bars of a cage between you and one of those cats, that's if you want a closer look at one for your project.
