  1. As above, welcome PAX! A new member to the forum with his own mind, can only be good. Well thought out comments......rearange the following, air, breath, of, fresh!
  2. Don't think football shirts should have collars! other than that it's pretty much the same as usual. Guess it will sell, which is what it's all about.
  3. What does Moyes need to do to improve as a manager! Learn from his mistakes, he made some last season, as he did the season before and the ones before that. Just about every job you can think of is subject to learning from misrakes. I've been plying my trade for nearly 30 years and I'd say in about another 10 years I'll be bloody good at it. Moyes is a bloody good manager, but he could get a lot better in the next few years. He's not been helped by a regular injury jinx and small squad and not having huge amounts of money, but he seems to work just as well with his bargin buys so that's in his favour. We all know Alex Ferguson couldn't win the prem with Aston Villa or Fulham, so I'd say pound for pound Moyes has worked wonders with us (with it's injury jinx and small squad). If he ( Moyes) has to sell Baines, Rodwell or similar to balance books or bring in a few extra players and the likes of Bily and Arteta don't perform.....you can't really blame him.
  4. The team from the mid 80's is the one, Latchford was my first number 9 hero, but he probably couldn't touch Graeme Sharp, and Reid, Steven and Bracewell were maybe as good as Ball, Kendall and Harvey.Adrian Heath was an early Tim Cahill and probably better. As a unit/team and at their best the mid 80's team were almost unstopable, Sheedy took better free kicks and corners than Arteta and scored way more goals from open play. The only player from todays Everton team who could have improved them would be Baines, and maybe at his best Jagielka could have put pressure on the Mountfield/Watson position, though Mountfields goals or the amount of them were special. The best Everton Team.....for me has to be the mid 8o's.....Dixie on the bench would have been handy.
  5. Arts pretty much my main hobby, friends have said Tattoo designs are something I should take a look at.Although I don't actually have any off my own (tattoos) I'm always very interested in them. Some of the work these days is truely fantastic. I'm afraid though the two old ladies on that train are from a different time and place. You can't really blame them for not being sure about the tattood man in the corner, but you can blame them for their rudeness and unkind comments. Perhaps you should have pointed out that you could infact hear what they were saying, and that you were hurt by their remarks, and that not all people with tattoo's were bad people..........followed by a swift head butt!....(JOKING)
  6. Nice to see the sort of ladies Barton hangs out with.Just goes to show money can't buy class.
  7. Nice video mate, if Beckford can just score like that every week, then he can have the number nine shirt with pleasure. That is if the towering Osman doesn't want it!(that was a center forwards goal if ever I saw one)
  8. He's injury prone, and that will not improve with age.Put the ball on a plate for him 10 yards out and he may well score, so would James Vaughan.
  9. Good signing for Norwich City, Vaughan can score goals at premiership level, if he can stay fit he will be the difference between staying up or returning to the championship. I can only think this means Moyes has got a decent forward lined up. When all our remaining strikers are fit, I wonder who Moyes plays just ahead of Cahill! Has Sahah got another season in him?....wil Yakubu return?....can Beckford turn the corner?......will Victor make it? With these players all fit, will Moyes risk not buying in another striker. Anyway, good luck James Vaughan, you certainly never gave less than 100%.

    Chelsea

Really nice way to finish a pretty average season. I didn't catch much of the game, but it seems we more than matched Chelsea, even with 10 men. The mind set for playing the top 4/5 seems to have been sorted, we are giving most of them bloody hard games and they must hate coming to Goodison, or even having us visit them. Well that's another season over, I wonder what Moyes has learnt about himself and football managership in general.
  11. I don't think Pienar really believed that Spurs were a better team.He knew they probably had more money to spend and perhaps could be going forward a tad quicker than us, and that at the time of his transfer stood maybe a much better chance of a top 4 finish than we did. No I think he left for one reason, more money, didn't he state that if Everton met his wage demands then he wanted to stay with us! On paper, and on the pitch (we drew with and beat them this season) we are as good a team/squad as Spurs, if injuries hadn't blighted us we WOULD have finished higher than them. No, Pienaar got what he wanted, a massive pay rise, still doing the job he obviously loves. He always gave Everton 100%, I don't think we could have asked a lot more, players come and players go. BUT I'll always believe he left for nothing more than money. surely next season the battle for the places between 4th and 7th will again involve Everton and Spurs, Pienaar will be involved in that battle, just on £20,00 a week more than he was getting at Everton, kinda makes sence, if your not an Evertonian!

    Man City (H)

Post Man city "NEWS FLASH".. Man Citys Arab owners have finally come up with a way to beat Everton!....they will get one of their wealthy cousins to buy Everton FC, and when ever the two teams meet there will be a family agreement, games between these two will be treated as a friendly with a pre-match understanding that the light blues WILL win, no resistance will shown by the dark Blues. There will be no 50-50 tackles, no small dark Blues out jumping light Blues, dark Blues are to show no passion or desire to win. If even after all this the light Blues fail to score, there will be a penalty awarded to the light Blues in the final minute.During which the dark Blue goalkeeper will turn and face the crowd as the kick is taken.! If the penalty kick hits the keepers head and rebounds to saftey, it will probably be necessary to re-take the spot kick, this will continue, until the light Blues win. Next week at the FA cup final, for me Stoke will be the peoples club.May the game be won as a result of a long throw in!
  13. I can't see many ways in which Rooney was bad for Everton, any young player mentioned in the same breath should find it an inspiration not a stumbling block. Today the only link between Rodwell and Rooney was they were at the same venue.
  14. To say Blacburn need a point or three would be an understatement! They are probably going to come at us the same way Wolves did.The best defence on the day will win this one. Could well end up a draw, but if Beckford is ready to run his nuts off for the whole 90 mins and Ossie stars for us again, added to the best left back in Europe, then hey! 3 points may well be ours!
  15. Has Moyes ever made Osmans name first on the teamsheet and built the team around what he (Osman) can do at his best. He's done it with Cahill and probably Arteta, Osmans usually under the radar when it comes to midfield kingpin. Hope that's explained it in words you understand
  16. My oldest is just 19 and he's moving out on Thursday......so MY calculations look more like you've got at least 19 years! Saying that, children! I wouldn't want to be without them, even the crying baby stage. Congratulations and good luck.
  17. Osmans always had great feet, one of the few players able to take players on and beat them not afraid to shoot from distance and will run and run.He is a pienaar type player, we can only hope he plays like this for the next couple of seasons. Maybe Moyes needs to allow for Osman when he's thinking tactics, he doesn't stand out but he can win us games. Well done Leon!

    Wolves (A)

No it wasn't a great performance, but it was a win.Manchester United are going to win trophies this season without too many great performances! Wolves were poor, and it was a good job, because we weren't really at our best.We did the job with the tools we had.Three points, bit more experience for some of the new/young lads, no new injuries, a clean sheet, 3 more goals for the goal difference when it comes down to it!!.....bloody happy days.
  19. Howards had a good season for us. If I had to pick three players this season who have done "the business", I'd go with Howard, Baines and Coleman. Others have done what was expected of them, some have been only average and some poor. But those three (Howard, Baines and Coleman) come out top for me. I'd have thought the only keepers in the prem better than him are on way better money, so maybe he's the best we can afford. Either way, great season (so far ) Mr Howard, same again for the next three or four seasons please!!
  20. Bartons a pretty decent player, yes he's a prick.Would I want him at Everton why not! He's not going to lose many 50/50 tackles
  21. Ok!, start packing, looks like your heading for a new place to live!
  22. Hello Dixie! You've done your history lesson and now your here, so by tomorrow you'll be part of our history, it's just how it works. You can't get out now, your a Blue. There will be bad times make no mistake, your love will be tested, I think you'll find it's worth it. Welcome to the family.
  23. You could ask the question, has Hibbert got more out of Everton than Everton have got out of Hibbert! It's always good to have local players in and around the squad. At his best he's good enough for the current Everton team/aquad.
  24. Villa will be in real trouble if they lose to us and other results go against them.We on the other hand will I think be safe from the relagation battle if we get the three points.....therefore I'm going for the no good to anyone draw! 1-1.
