  1. Who does David Maddock support? Oh! Deluded fools - Big Dunc got a jail sentence for that!
  2. Maybe Broja on a perm and Gallagher loan with option. Maybe, and more likely, separate deals to the Gordon deal anyway. I’m still expecting Gilmour’s name to pop up somewhere.
  3. This for me… not long ago, I’d have said Gordon is the only player I wouldn’t sell but I’m confident Thelwell and Lampard know what they’re doing and we may have learnt from previous mistakes… seeing Barkley and/or Bashtuayi in any deal would soon kill that confidence!!!
  4. I think both goals yesterday show why we need Gueye (or similar style) in this team.
  5. I expect this will get the Kean deal moving now.
  6. Looked fine with Coady and Tarkowski yesterday
  7. All need a striker to do the bits they can’t. They will all improve with an out and out striker leading the line - even Rondon in the short-term.
  8. Bigger fee but much lower wages than Gueye I’d imagine and fee can be spread over a 5 year contract rather than a 2 so, as mad as it sounds, may leave more money for striking targets depending on the structure of each deal.
  9. I disagree - I think Watkins is a class all-round player - better overall than Calvert-Lewin. Finishing at times lets them both down. Don’t think we’ll get him but if there was a chance of loan to buy then I’d be all over it.
  10. 100% massive step-up but both would have been excellent squad players for us last season - as mentioned, we’re after a squad player rather than the blockbuster main striker. This is the kind of Lookman/Vlasic transfer where, if he’s not a big success, you can still move on for a decent fee in 12-18months. Low risk high reward in my opinion. Jebbison at Sheff Utd is another name being mentioned but he’s had a lot less experience.
  11. 19 last season - what if he goes and scores 19 again this season? Probably puts him out of our price range. These are the risks we need to take.
  12. Basically, the reason we’ve got him and Wolves allowed this is that Coady is a limited player - he’s accomplished in a 3 man defence which is clearly the system we’ll be playing and Wolves won’t - he doesn’t suit a back 4. They’ve probably allowed the loan deal rather than dig their heals in over a permanent deal out of respect.
  13. Gordon’s a childhood kopite… most people who make it as professionals don’t actually support a club as we understand supporting (die hard) a club as it’s their job.
  14. Like it not but Coleman and Mykolenko will be used as a third centre back when required. It wouldn’t surprise me if a youngster (probably Welsh) got game time with Coady and Tarkowski helping them through too.
  15. My thought exactly - possibly West Ham when Diop goes to Fulham too.
  16. I actually really like Arnautovic as a player but age/wages/he’s a big ego but not a star name - Man U fans won’t be happy. He’ll do well there as a short term option though.
  17. I do wonder if West Ham or maybe Leicester come in for Keane during this window; think he’ll certainly be available with 3 at the back seemingly being out system of choice and Keane being so shaky in this system.
  18. You must be shit-hot at speed dating if you can make a judgement that quickly!
  19. Hopefully Mina and Godfrey getting injured doesn’t change our plans of hopefully getting rid of Keane or Mina (probably not now if the injury is serious) if we sign Coady (which is looking very likely). We’ll be playing 3 at the back so it probably means Holgate will be okay with the experience of Coady and Tarkowski - Welsh may even be around the first team until Godfrey is back.
  20. Went with Tarkowski but was very impressed with Iwobi, Patterson, Mina (hope he’s not crocked again - probably is sadly!) and Doucoure (bar the pen). Overall - optimistic!
  21. Over the course of his contract (5 years) - standard practise.
