No chance! £10m for someone we signed for £3m (plus add-ons) a couple of seasons ago seems good business, but in my opinion Joleon is our most important player. A few of our top players are getting linked away from the club and it's now we need to push on - fail to qualify for europe this season could see us lose a couple of players in the closed season (i think we will qualify - possibly even 4th, but if we don't... who knows).

Has Jimmy Mac performed consistently enough to be labeled proven. He's scored some important goals but proven - depends what he's proved himself as? Proven Prem goal-scorer - not chance.

Daily Mail says we've rejected a bid from boro for Faddy - how true that is I don't know. Moyes seems to be a fan of Downing - looks like boro are making one last attempt to tie him up with a contract - so if he refuses I wouldn't oppose a swap deal involving Faddy (after all faddy's on the left-wing half the time - I know who I'd prefer). A lot of people on here evidently don't like Downing but he'll always put in a quality ball, he's an England international for more than just McClaren (although he's a big factor.) Signing Downing would allow Arteta or Pienaar move into the middle of the park possibly or just give us riches in which to rotate.

With Anderson we've got another player to give the ball away and although 451 seems more defensive than 442 it may act negatively, yak on his own will have his work cut-out, at least in 442 we've got another man up there to hopefully keep the ball up the field for longer.
