  1. Is it me, or does this not make sense?

If Madrid beat us (Match 5), they play for 5th? Have they got that the wrong way around?

They have got this wrong. They have made a few other mistakes over the last couple of days such as the kick off time for Everton Real Madrid. I think it will be corrected by the end of the day.

  2. So he earned less points, and, got them relegated, but hey ho, we'll have him. dont%20know.gif

Whoever gets the job at Everton should be the most proven and best, of all the candidates. If that proves to be Martinez, great, but there are lots of managers in the world, and Martinez has not earned the opportunity in my eyes.

I couldn't give a toss if they have won a cup. Managing a Prem team over 38 games is very different, and Martinez has done shite in his time in the Prem.

I don't see how you can say he has done shite in his time in the prem. I for one think he has done a very good job with a low budget, terrible attendances and he gets them to play a decent style of football. I think you need to look at his time at Swansea as well as Wigan. He (along with Sousa) transformed them into the club they are today. His team on winning the league, easily out scored every other club and the goal difference was huge. I believe it's important that we build on what Moyes has started and simply by looking for the same 'style' of manager we won't progress. We also need a manager who has the right characteristics for this great club. I don't want a whinger, blame everybody except themselves type of person. Everton need another loyal, intelligent, hardworking and tactical manager. Martinez fits this criteria. As long as we don't get Lennon I'm happy (& of course Hughes!)
  3. I think he deserves a very warm send off. Eleven years in today's football climate is a great effort. You have to take into account the poor finances he had available and he has left us in a much better position. If it was more than 2 games then I'd agree that he should step aside but our position of 6th is almost confirmed regardless of the next two results. I for one will be giving him the accolade he deserves tomorrow. Thanks Mr Moyes and for me I hope Martinez is his replacement.

I am not saying we would have won the game but it would have given us a far better chance of winning , yes you did have most of the play but as you know that dont always mean a win . I agree with you that it was not a dirty game and if we had a more experienced and fair ref ( hard to get nowadays I know ) it would have been a more enjoyable game to watch and easier to swallow however the result turned out

I don't think any/many of us would disagree with that. Poor refereeing ruined the game. However that has been the story of our season so far!
