  1. DK I don't mean to cause you offence and I'm sure you're a genuinely nice guy. However, I regularly read your posts and find great humour in the fact that you post daily in a wide range of topics and rarely, if ever comment on your opinion and seem to regurgitate slices of match reports and the opinions of other people. I'm not being belligerent just having a laugh, so please don't take offence. Lastly on a serious note when was the last time you watched a live Everton match either on TV or in person? I'm curious.

  2. I admired his work rate and his tracking back at the weekend but I still don't see him as an Everton player. A number of people on here said he had a good game against Chelsea but I don't think making the odd tackle and being in the right place once before half time meant he played well. Just that he's fit, hungry and keen. This though doesn't make him a good footballer. He is a typical Moyes player, a hard worker with the addition of being technically poor. Other than one run towards the end he gave the ball frequently and never looked comfortable in possession. This is my main concern as most weeks we will be the dominant team and frankly I can't see him fitting into the Martinez ethos.

Thanks for the goal though, it made my weekend!

  3. He thinks if he talks like a head teacher, stares google eyed and tries to get reassurance from the other pundits when he speaks, that it all makes sense. The guy is hanging onto his job by a thread.

A whole league above Mark Lawrenson then!

  4. Silly me, thought 'good result today... Good performance.... Think I'll watch Match of the Day and see what they reckon'.

One eyed highlights at best. Looked like only one team played. No footage of the cynical challenges by the Chelsea players to stop us breaking, but what looked like a procession of chances for them.

Didn't quite reflect the game I thought I watched.

It's the same every time we play a supposed top 4 team. I watched MOTD and I really wanted to see the foul on Mirallas by Luiz again but typically it was edited. Still at least they were adamant that they shouldn't of got a penalty.Plus Mourino wasn't very gracious in defeat!

  5. Lets not go overboard when guessing any possible transfer fee, the lads played 4 prem games and half an hour in an International this season, Admittedly he is in good form at the moment, but everybody thought Rodwell was the next big star.

Lets not suffocate the lad with over the top expectation and see how the season pans out.

No one knows how good Rodwell is at the moment because the poor lad can't get a game. Watching him on the final game of the season he was superb. Barry couldn't get in their team either and look what he did for us at the weekend. On the Barkley issue we've not seen consistency yet but based on what we have seen and potential this is why the figures that have been mentioned are about right. I for one wouldn't except any bid for him for a few years until his potential is met and the price tag is at its maximum.
  6. Apparently Martinez showed some attacking emphasis after the goal and decided to try for more

it seems the plastics missed a host of chances

Also appears Barry had a very good game.

I do love your match day analysis Dalziel! I don't think I've once read a set of comments from you after a match that indicates you've watched it. I'd love to know how you draw these conclusions. I genuinely would like to know your views and not what you've read or heard. Maybe next week?

  7.

To the Barry shouts- I wouldn't make a player who has just signed captain. I'm just against that idea, but maybe one day he could become vice-captain, or even captain. Honestly, I think Jags will make a great captain.

One person voted Barry and I guess they weren't thinking clearly at the time! He's on loan AND there's no guarantee that he'll sign. I think this is the most one sided poll I've seen on toffeetalk.

  8. There's a reason he always ends up on the bench, no where near clinical enough. He's not a match winner and has very poor shooting accuracy (struggles from 12 yards, see his pen against us), he's lucky Spurs have a great midfield to get him the extra chances he needs.

Remember when Saha was woefully out of form and couldn't hit a barn door? Spurs took him because Defoe is even worse.

So is that a no from you then Pete? Nothing like sitting on the fence.
