  1. Highlights? Are there any? Just watching that video just made me realise how bad we were that day. I mean it was literally mistake after mistake. The first goal should never have happened, Jermain Defoe should never have been allowed to get that shot away, he had three men around him including Phil Neville and Joleon Lescott and not one man made a challenge. I know he was in the box and it's always risky but when he was so close to goal there should have been at least one man getting a foot it, Lescott should have done more to get his body in the way of the shot as he seemed to allow Defoe to make the turn. Lescott is to blame for the second aswell, he's marking no-one and then when it's too late decides to track after Glen Johnson he makes no effort to put in a challenge and allows the shot to get in on target which from the kinda' distance was only heading one way. The penalty was definatly a penalty and 2-0 down you want your best taker to get us back into the game. Mikel Arteta. But oh no, once again Yakubu makes a ridiculas mistake in demanding to take the kick and go for goal himself, TBH it shoulden't be a problem, an £11 million striker should be able to score from 12-yards? At 2-0 down he should have kept it low and powered home to kick, but for some reason he tries to trick James with his pathetic run up and basically chip the ball straight to James..abosulute garbage, a proffesional should be able to score from 12-yards. The third goal to me was the goal that we could have done least about, someone should have closed the gap to try and stop Defoe from getting a shot in, but he managed to and someone should definatly have been marking Crouch to make sure he didn't run in and head past Howard. For me Howard wasn't in that bad of a position, it was just unfortunate what happened. Howard could have been on his line yes, but these things happen and I can kinda' accept Howards mistake today, but the rest were totally unforgivable and I hope Phil was carrying some grief with him when he came to the fans at the end of the game. For me he was the only man on the field that did anything and should be dissapointed with the team that he led on the field today. @MLT - I know, if you haven't seen the game you might want to see what all the fuss is about. Bad game though, Everton and Highlights don't go together for that game.
  2. Hull really need to start thinking about how much thier spending. I thought £6 million was a lot for James Beattie, £7 for Frazier Campbell? The world has indeed gone insane.
  3. He starts right, the defence need to take full responsibility for the goals, Glen Johnson's was a complete joke it was painful to watch, from the build-up's beginning it was inevitable the ball would end up in the back of the net. But I disagree with him after that, we deserved everything we got from that game, the performance we put out today was worthy of a hammering and it was amazing they didn't put a few more past us, he says that the spot-kick was a good save from James, it's pretty simple to save a shot that's taken so casual it lacks in power and it's at the perfect height for a comfortable save. IMO Moyes needs to take responsibility and accept that today's game just wasn't good enough for a team hoping to have success in Europe this year.
  4. Well after the abimsmal performance against Portsmouth we have what should be a simple away fixture to Stoke City to kick start September. Louis Saha to play along with Castello? What's your views on the game next week?
  5. Anichebe would do well at someone in the lower leagues. Alan Irvine said that he would love to take Victor to Preston, IMO I would like to see him over there, he would do well under Alan and maybe become a better player. At this moment in time I just don't think that he's right for Everton. And Valente and Yobo are amongst some of our best players. Valente especially he's a class player. Great for Portugal and great for us I liked the way we played against Blackburn with him at left-back and Leighton at left midfield.
  6. Agreed, if we sign him it may be another Carsley and Gravesen with Hunt and Kissock.

  8. He caused us trouble when Reading came up to Goodison so I would like to see him at Everton, a real good midfielder that would cause havoc in opposition's defence and is quite speedy, which is what we need. I'm all for it, so long as Moyes can control him, which we know he can.
  9. Yes I do remember that but I just don't feel that he's been pulling his weight. In some games I literally haven't heard of him, he's been silent. Every home game of late he's been coming on and doing nothing. We all have differant opinions I agree and most of the forum may disagree with me but that's just how I feel. Kaka
  10. Sorry, I'll actually change that. I thought of that when I did it, he's a good young goalkeeper I was just thinking that if we have Howard, Turner and hopefully another decent goalkeeper before the transfer ends Ruddy would be fourth choice keeper and would maybe better someplace else. Anichebe for me dosen't work hard enough, he nevers seems to get into the game or really make a differance, he's just one of those players that I would really like to see elsewhere. I don't mean to be anti-Victor here but apart from the few goals in Europe he hasn't done much at all.

  12. Yeah I thought he was a winger (aswell as striker) so he should fill our wings with Pienaar out for a few weeks in the season. I heard somewhere that Obinna could be recalled back to Inter Milan in January if we dont play him as certain number of games. So it seems he's going to be in the squad a fair bit if Inter threaten to recall him.
  13. I'm getting more confident, I think we'll be a good force in Europe again so I don't see why we can't beat Standard at Goodison. Yeah, no-one can understand you, if your not posting in English you might aswell not post at all.
  14. I would have liked Shaun Wright-Phillips at the club, but his wages were just too high. I too can't understand where all the funds are going but I think we have to remember about wages. If we would have beaten Manchester City to Shaun (which was unlikely anyway) we would have had to have paid 80kpw, which is money that I feel could be used elsewhere. I think we should let Moyes use his scouting talent to try and snap up a cheap-upcoming star from the lower leagues. We need a quick winger but surely once Pienaar's fit he will fit the gap?
  15. With FIFA and PES returning to our consoles this season it's inevitable that us that are hooked on Video Games will be playing a few games on one, or maybe both of them. I've always been a fan of the FIFA franchise until I played PES 4, which for me seemed more fun and player-friendly. I never really looked back on my decision until FIFA 08 finally won over PES and took the better game of the season for me. I thought that the FIFA 08's gameplay, graphics and fun was way more than Pro Evoulution's was and had me hooked. I've had a few years with the two games now and wondered which game I should go for next season. Even though Pro Evoulution is a whole lot better than FIFA fun-wise the small demo the developers showed us on the websites show that the new game is similar if not exactly the same to its previous game making me feel that I should go for FIFA. I've also been wanting to ask about a Management game. I've had a little go of Championship Manager and didnt get hooked. I've played a few seasons of FIFA Manager 07 & 08 and think that it's quite good, but I wanted something more. I was thinking more along the lines of playing Football Manager, do any of you play? This is the place to discuss the two games aswell as any management games that you may play, and discuss how your teams are doing within those games. I for one have started a season with Everton on FIFA and am currently into February fifteen points clear of Chelsea at the top of the game with my only defeat to Liverpool and my only draw to Sunderland. I've signed Fabregas for 10 million and also managed to acquire some players from the scouts. So how's your virtual team looking? And are you looking to add the 2009 update's to your collection? Hopefully seeing Saha banging in the goals in his blue no.9 Everton shirt
  16. Moyes got us from relegation fighter's into European Cup Challengers. As a club we owe a lot to David Moyes. He's brought in small players (at the time) like Tim Cahill and Joleon Lescott who have turned out to be some of our best players. Take Mikel Arteta, not many of use had even heard of him nevermind seen him play, we sign him for pennies and all of a sudden he's our best player and the whole fanbase love him. Moyes has done well in the Transfer Market. Finding gems from the lower leagues and making them into class Premiership players. He's managed to move us foreward each season, I can't think of many bad signings he's made. Valente, Baines, Howard, Jagielka, Yobo, Neville. They've all been good players for us and it was Moyes that spotted them. If we think about all the success that Moyes has had in the Transfer Market then I see no reason why Louis Saha can't be another excellent signing, along with Jacobsen and Castello. I know we all have our opinions and some people just don't like Saha, I didn't like Neville when he first came and now I think he's an excellent captain, but I know some people think that Neville is a joke. I'm just saying that we are all entitled to our opinion, but as we haven't seen Saha in an Everton shirt yet we should look at Moyes Transfer Record and think positive.
  17. Sorry, feel like a bit of a prat now but thanks for your help. I see we got Liege, hopefully we can pull something out of the bag. If we have another performance like Metalist our luck will probably have run out. We need to get a good result at Goodison. That needs to happen.
  18. Andy Johnson was sold because he was finding it harder and harder to hit the net, he was finding it hard to challenge for the first-striker role and because he was being out-played by Yakubu and at times Vaughan. In my opinion Andy Johnson was a fantastic signing at first and his début against Watford coulden't of gone better but he lacked that finishing touch, he lacked that edge and soon his days were numbered and it was sooner rather than later that he would be in a new kit.
  19. Was on one of the football sites looking at the Saha news and saw that ^ Will Berbatov ever go to Manchester United?
  20. Vaughan's time will come. He's still very young, and injury prone so I can't see how he would be annoyed at the signing of Louis Saha. He'll probably know that he's not going to be the first-choice striker any time soon and he accepts that. He's still a very good player and one for the future. Welcome
  21. Micheal Schumacher may end up back in Formula One in a few years but at the moment he's at a motorbike race squad. I heard he crashed the bike last week and had to pull out. I guess he thought he could walk into MotoGP and take on Rossi and Pedrosa. Well there's bad news, he'll never be the best at motorbike racing. Because that's where all the fastest people race
  22. Yep. I see where your coming from. I was thinking that they would work well together because Yakubu could take the role of Rooney, digging deep and holding the play while Saha would maybe run around more and sometimes overlap. Saha would do most of the running whilst Yakubu held the ball up, on the odd occasion taking it for himself and going individually. We'll see on Saturday but I can really see this partnership working well against a low on moral Portsmouth side. Castillo, Jacobsen and Saha all new with Yakubu, Arteta and Osman all goal ready. Sound's good to me. He'll be on 50,000? I would have thought he will take a wage drop from being at Manchester United and now Everton. It's going to be a salary drop. I heard £2 million mentioned somewhere, but I'm unsure whether to believe. I don't think Manchester United would let Saha go for that fee. And for the people that have been negative about Saha, be positive! We've had good success with Manchester United, Tim Howard was an excellent signing and Phil Neville is now our captain. So we should hopefully have Saha set for our Top Scorer Good Point. 100% agreed. Johnson's work rate was excellent when he first came, but he never seemed to find the net. Towards the end a move was inevitable. I can't see him doing much at Fulham. Another David Healy IMO.
  23. Behind Celtic all the way with this one(second team:P) Hopefully we can get a good result against Manchester United, I would settle for a drew at Old Traford and hopefully look at a win back on home ground. Hope we can defeat Villareal which I can't see why we shoulden't they've only got Pires whereas we have McDonald, Venegoor, Maloney, Boruc, McManus. Aalborg? They should just go home now. If they get any more than three points I will be amazed. I can see them possibly scraping a draw against Villareal. Easy six points there which will prove well in getting to the 2nd Round.
  24. Yes I do. Yakubu's bigger and stronger so he will be better at holding off defenders whereas Saha quicker, he's not as heavy-weight as Yakubu is and is the kinda' guy that will take defenders on and look for some goals. He's had great scoring return in his time at Manchester United and Fulham. And he's done well enough alongside Rooney and Tevez so why should he change his style alongside Yakubu? I think he would work well next to Yak and can't wait to see them in action!
