  1. Heart: Standard Liege keep it simple, but so do we. We manage to keep them at bay with a strong defence and managed to end the first 45 at 0-0. Liege come back out in front of the home crowd looking good in attack but once again we manage to hold them off, luckily were keeping Yakubu and Saha fit for the last ten minutes and in the 80+ minute Saha/Yakubu slam home to put us 3-2 ahead. We keep the pressure off us and progress through into the group. Head: Standard Liege keep it simple before slamming home thier first before half time, 20 minute mark just to let us know that our defence hasn't improved, we can't come back and head into half-time 1-0 down. We come out, looking really strong but Liege nick another 2-0. We switch off, lose all moral and sense of gameplan and give away silly chances. We scrap a goal late on but its not enough as we lost 2-1 on the night.
  2. Another one that stands out for me was when I was 10. My great-grandad, who couldent walk or get anywhere had bought me some football boots for the new season which at the time were the best. Adidas Predator. It was the week of the local derby, Seneley & Garswood A vs. Senely & Garswood B and it was the first game that I had wore these boots. Now I'm not superstitious but it was really weird how I played. Within the first five minutes they had scored. 0-1 down. But within a minute I had hit the ball towards the goal from way out and it had somehow managed to find its way into the goal. They were playing a better game of football and a lucky penalty allowed them to go 1-2 ahead, but once again I managed to break free and score my second to make it 2-2. Now this is going to sound real Hollywood. But with only a few minutes left I managed to pick up the ball. Cryff Turn into the box and nutmeg thier keeper making it 3-2 to us. Never forget that game we won and even though I dont believe in that 'supersticious' talk it was a really weird day for me.
  3. Yes I have, I'm especially proud because now after getting scouted I play goalkeeper, so I've not scored in 3+ years. It was when I was about 11 and we had our free-kick taker injured on the side-lines and me at left-back comes charging down the field. I'm legged up by some over-weight bald kid in defence and its a free-kick to us. I decide that I am best to take the kick and keep the ball, place it on the grass and look to shoot. Now, the fact is that the ball was a few yards from the corner flag, meaning they had only one man in the wall and my coach (and plaeyrs) are screaming 'Don't Shoot!' as it's five minutes to go and the sides are at 0-0. Do I listnen? Do I balls, I smack the ball has hard as I can leaning as far back as I could and somehow it curls over the one man wall and dips just before the far post perfectly hitting the top corner of the net. My celebration was to run down the wing like a maniac before stopping in front of the coach. 'Pfft, Don't Shoot'
  4. Yes, but I lost count of the number of times Gerrard & Carragher should have been booked but after another Liverpool man stuck his nose in it was quicklu changed to a 'light telling off' IMO we can't just blame the referee for our faults, but it was a big factor that changed the games outcome.
  5. Coulen't agree more, I do think that Moyes should either sign his contract or move on. Great first half from us but since the first goal we just didn't look interested. Cahill has some part to play in the sending off, he should have just gone straight to the referee and not prat about ignoring him.
  6. How has the season been shaping up so far? Not too good. We started poorly at home against Blackburn and that's really knocked our confidence. We've managed to pick up away good points against Stoke and West Brom away from home. Taking one from Hull. Not good to be honest. We need to sort our defence out, were great in attack but poor in defence. What are your expectations for this season? Have they changed from day one? European Qualfication is still my expectation. Just this season I actuall hoped we would at least challenge the Top 4. Now I just want to see us back in Europe for 2009-10 Who do you think is your most important player(s)? Neville. Great leader, fantastc. Cahill. Since returning he's been fantastic for us, will cause Carragher to make some error hopefully. Your worst player(s)? None really stand out, everyone's made the odd mistake. Our defencers need to stop conceding but thier not 'bad' just let to many mistakes past them. Joleon Lescott has made a bad start, hopefully things will improve. Vic too needs to look at his performance. Do you have a particular memory of any previous meeting between our clubs? Say something that happened to you that day or a decision you disagreed with? Everton 1 Liverpool 0, was at that game with a good friend of mine, best atmousphere I've ever seen. Everton 3 Liverpool 0, for obvious reasons! What sort of line-up will be put out against us? Defensive. We've managed to score but not keep clean sheets. I think if we keep the attackers out we will do well, especially with Saha on form. Do you have any favourite/best chant(s) and perhaps any that require an explanation? Pass. Where do you expect Everton and Liverpool to finish in the Premier League? 7th & 5th (Manchester City could break the Top 4 this season) Cup Winners EPL - Mancehster United UEFA Cup - AC Milan Champions League - Villareal FA Cup - Manchester United Which Liverpool player will you fear the most? Jamie Carragher, he would score any goals past us but the fact that not much gets past him worries me. Reina could be looking at a clean sheet past us. He not bad linking with Gerrard either. Do you hate Liverpool fans, and why? No - I mean at times but thats all part of football. Care to predict the score? 1-1

  9. Well yeah I mean I can't really believe that someone would do that no matter who they were. I mean killing innocent animals is just weird and unacceptable. I don't actually think that Slipknot would do that, in interviews they always seems pretty normal guys (except the masks ) I'm not actually into that much metal TBH. I just like Slipknot, a few Manson songs and maybe one or two other tracks from other artists.
  10. Well I'm unsure whether you can say that because the Reading players were probably as shocked as the Watford one's and didn't fully know what was going on after the incident. Plus Steve Coppel said after the game that he was happy to re-play the game even though Reading had managed to get a 2-2 draw. What would you say if it happened to Everton. Against Liverpool on Saturday? Arteta crosses in, Lescott headers and Saha pulls it back across the goal-line. Jamie Carragher clears but the referee is pointing to the centre-circle, its a goal. I think a few fans would be annoyed if Phil ran over to the referee complaining it wasn't a goal. I think even thought it's not sportsmanship you would take the goal. Same as scoring when your way off-side. You dont go 'Hey Linesman I was offside. Didn't you see? Give them the free-kick that goal was unfair'
  11. Watford and Reading will not replay 'phantom goal' game, says League There will be no replay of the match between Reading and Watford, the Football League has confirmed, despite the Professional Game Match Officials board's admission that the goal awarded by referee Stuart Attwell after his assistant flagged was "an error of judgement". "The laws of the game give no discretion in these matters — the referee's decision regarding whether a goal is scored or not is final and binding," said the League's chief operating officer, Andy Williamson. "Given this explicit position, the League cannot intervene." Reading manager Steve Coppell had said he would have "no objections" to a rematch, raising the prospect of a repeat of Arsenal's decision to replay their 1999 FA Cup match against Sheffield United — a game also marked by a dubious goal. "I'm not sure there's a precedent but if that's what people decide then I am quite happy to do it," said Coppell. "We don't want to be seen to be taking advantage of anything. I have sympathy with Watford and I really don't know what to say to make it right. But if the Football League phones me now and says something was definitely wrong, I'm happy to go along with it." The goal was erroneously awarded after 13 minutes when a Stephen Hunt corner glanced off John Eustace's thighs and went out of play over the byline. Attwell, however, awarded a goal when his assistant referee raised his flag, to the bemusement of the players on the pitch and the fans in the ground. "According to the laws of the game, the decision of the referee regarding facts connected with play are final and that includes whether a goal is scored or not," said the PGMO. "The referee cannot change that decision once the game has been restarted. "Football is a human game played at a fast pace where mistakes are made by players and match officials alike. We regret this error of judgment and will now work with the officials concerned to determine how this occurred in an attempt to minimise such mistakes in the future

  13. What?!? Seriously?!? I thought Marilyn Manson was the dude that threw puppies into the crowd to kill them.
  14. How do you make a hormone? Kick her in the shin = Two hydrogen atoms walk into a bar. One says, “I think I've lost an electron.” The other says, “Are you sure?” The first says, “Yes, I'm positive...” = Yes, I know real 'dum dum dum tch' but hey, they made me laugh
  15. Forgive me of my ignorance, but I'm not that big a fan of golf however I have been following the scoring. People have been saying that the cup is lost for Europe as USA are too far in-front. But at 9-7 (from someone who sees football scores ) it dosen't seem that much of a gap. What I'm asking is, is it? And can we kiss goobye to the Ryder for another two years?

Good post mate, to blame Steve Round for our poor performance is diabolical, it seems we are looking for someone to point the finger at for something that is clearly our fault.

Neville has been fantastic this season, and is the only player that really impresses me in the team. Steve Round is David Moyes' assisstant. It used to be Alan Irvine before he left for Preston North End, since then Moyes has employed Round to fill Alan's boots.
  18. I can imagine, I'm addicted to Oblivion which I think is the same type of game. How do you actually play multiplayer? Do you all join a team and complete quests? I'm just wondering the basics of playing.
  19. What's World Of Warcraft about, I've heard of it but never actually played it. 'Though massively multiplayer online role-playing games have been around for years, it has taken this long for the genre's breakthrough hit to finally emerge. Here is the online role-playing game you should play, no matter who you are. This is because World of Warcraft brings out all the best aspects of this style of gaming, if not many of the best aspects of gaming in general. It also features many of the specific characteristics that have made Blizzard Entertainment's previous games so entertaining, memorable, long-lasting, and successful. Of course, the company's past track record did not guarantee that World of Warcraft could have turned out this well. Such high quality simply cannot be expected, nor should it be missed.' It's got good reviews, from Gamespot.
  20. Yeah. TBH I can kinda see where your coming from. Lostprophets are my favourite band, and I like all thier songs. But I can see how people may dislike some songs like Rooftops, with all the 'Heart Out' and the 'Scream!' which I suppose could get a little dull if your not a fan. Which I'm proud to say I am. Shame on you! I don't mind some heavy, but I like to settle for the more well known bands like Slipknot, some of the amatuer screamo/metal I dislike.

There are many teams that would love to be in our position. Tottenham Hotspur would love to be where we are, with only two points, getting thier second today against Wigan in a 0-0 draw. Losing Dimitar Berbatov, Robbie Keane and Jermaine Defoe. That's where you start to look at the manager and think, where the hell did the money go. Newcastle are another. There in deep trouble and had the same, bad performance against Hull at home. Its good that we got them away as once they and we have settled into our season we will take maximum points and win that game.
  22. From 21st September 2008 this is now 'Video Game Thread' allowing users to talk about any video game. Ask questions, make comments, show pictures. It's all here in the 'Video Game Thread' (: 24/10/08 Can't wait for MotoGP 08 - Though we saw the game last week at the 2008 Games Convention in Leipzig, Capcom is still eager to show off more of its latest entry in the MotoGP series, MotoGP 08. Reps from the company came by earlier this week to show off the game and give us a glimpse at the game's Career mode. It won't be winning any awards for innovation, but MotoGP 08's Career mode looks to be another fun way to get into two-wheeled racing in this sim-style game. Career mode joins a number of other modes in MotoGP 08, including Quick Race, Time Trial, Championship (where you play a single season run-through of the MotoGP calendar), Challenges, and online play, which will support up to 12 players. Your MotoGP 08 career will last five years, and during that time, you'll sign with a team, as well as build up your bike's attributes. You'll also do your best to win the championships in the different bike classes in which you'll run (125cc, 250cc, and MotoGP). Scoring points in race events will let you spend points to upgrade your bikes in four different categories: maximum speed, acceleration, braking, and traction. You'll also unlock new teams in your specific class, and you can choose to sign with those new teams. By unlocking teams, you'll eventually be able to work your way up to the pinnacle of the sport--MotoGP class--where you will be racing with the top two-wheel riders in the world.

Review Everton came from two goals behind to earn a point against Hull at the KC Stadium. Michael Turner put the hosts ahead on 18 minutes when out-jumping Marouane Fellaini at the far post to head in from a Dean Marney from the left. The Tigers then doubled their lead - again from a corner - on 50 minutes, with Phil Neville adjudged to have conceded an own goal after a mix-up in the Everton defence. But the Toffees showed great determination and Tim Cahill got one back off the bar on 73 minutes, although there was some uncertainty at first whether it had crossed the line. Then five minutes later, Leon Osman got the equaliser after Yakubu played a great one-two with Louis Saha down the left and then crossed for him to slot home.

According to SkySp. it was Neville's own goal. I thought it was all Howard? Maybe Howard didn't get much of a touch onto it..
