  1. i think the fact that he's scored 4 in his last 6 games would suggest to me that he won't be going anywhere in january. especially with Mido being in the African nations cup then. therefore we can't pick him! we won't buy AJ.
  2. i don't think we'll get robbie keane in January. no with Mido being away for the African nations cup. Martin JOel has also said they won't be getting a striker in on loan. with keane playing well at the moment I don't see him leaving.
  3. well no one's mentioned it yet. we're away to Millwall. Definately a winnable game, Millwall aren't playing well this season at all.
  4. loved that. i was listening to the podcast in the gym today and heard p-diddy being asked to buy either leeds or Everton. all they showed him was the shirts and he said it had to be Everton!!! if only!
  5. i nearly stumped a lot of cash on wigan for that game but then some geordie supportin wanker started banging on about how newcastle were gonna play much better after their shite weekend performance and wigan are playing their reserve side. so after a bit of banter i left it. bastards...odds of more than 2/1 for wigan, even before he said he wasn't putting out a full side for some reason everyone had decided newcastle were favourites. fuck knows why!
  6. moyes did say the other day that if osman keeps playing how he is in training he'll get his chance in the team.
  7. I think what made it worse had to come down to Tim. I know he was annoyed but he really shouldn't have kept up his charge on the ref! he was so intent on getting action taken when it really had been an equal scufel. babayaro pulled cahill as they went in but it was tim whoose fist first hit babyaro's. then babayaro gave a pretty determined whack back. If tim had calmed down and not been throwing his own team mates off of him so that he could get at the ref and at babayaro he might not be in this situation. sometimes when I see tim playing I wish he'd just calm down a little as he can be his own worst enemy at times.
  8. I've never liked Keane, I think it's always been the times that i've seen him stamping on people and getting into bust ups that have put me off him. BUT he's a great player, not as fit as he used to be or as mobile but he's certianly a top class player and like neville another player with a world of experience. He's a quality player who can pass well, battle well and control the pace of the game. if we did get Keane, looking at our current team i'd probably drop Davies to the bench to fight for his place. He hasn't cut it for me so far this season, so much hype about him over the last few years but i've not seen anything to impress me so far. I personally think he'll go to Celtic and would be tempted to put money on it, but as i'm unsure of how we came to be such heavy favourites i'm thinking maybe there's some substance to the rumours.
  9. i'd give mcfadden a couple more games if he can play like that. I still dont' rate him but every now and then he shows off that potential that he still has. he's got to produce though. VDM wasn't too hot with the corners on sunday, arteta's were good but VDM seemed a bit hesitant, took a couple of bad ones then a few short ones with the aim to cross on the return but then nothing came from them. some of his crosses look absaloutly class but at other times he's just not produced. I think he's still getting to grips with the pace a little mind and probably still not quite fully fit.
  10. shame he's going to be away for african nations for a while in January. hopefully krodrup can come through for us by then. hopefully then by the time yobo gets back krodrup will have the experience in the league to partner yobo in the side. I think if Krodrup can settle in to the english game well we'd have 2 very composed centre backs that can control the back line well.
  11. I thought beattie had a really good game, he's really chasing well and I think he is looking quite fit now. certainly covers a lot of ground. cleared of the line, got booked while defending and was often getting back and getting into good positions up front. also holding the ball well which was getting us a few free kicks. Mcfadden played well at times he certainly got around well, didn't stick to anywhere in particular, sometimes he was playing very much centre forward while at other times he was there crossing from the right wing. shame he wasted that chance inthe first half, and one in the second as well was a bit too easy for the keeper. he did make another chance for himself which i was quite impressed with but still didn't execute the shot brilliantly.
  12. good result. didn't play too bad, some good stuff, especially from arteta, and yobo played brilliantly. VDM still not looking like he's got into the English game properly. a few poor crosses and a few decent moments. a couple of poor misses showing why we don't score many goal. McFadden at the end of the first half and Beattie's unforgiveable miss when he got nicely played in and only had the keeper to beat from 10 yards. that would have finished the game and was an appaling miss. mcfadden played quite well, especially in the second half, got around the pitch well and got a few shots in. our finishing is still poor but overall it wasn't a bad game.
  13. i think it's harsh to give any youngster a rooney comparison. he's 1 in a million and a totally gifted player. obviously it'd be nice if we did though! I hope Vaughn can prove himself, he looks like a good prospect and it looks like we've got some good lads coming through all round. hopefully some of them make the squad and can get somewhere with us. It'd be good to see more talent coming through the ranks.
  14. I know we improved after we left but is that anything to do with him personally or did it just show that we couldn't handle having a top class player in our side. I know we didn't do great when we had him but the side we had then wasn't as good as it is now and he wasn't as experienced. in my opinion he's one of the top 3 or 4 players in the world and not only is he already pretty experienced, he is still very young.
  15. it does frustrate me that we buy up all the promising young keepers we can find then get out on the look out for a new keeper! i accept that their young but I do want to see them get their chance one day. I'd be pretty pissed off if they stayed for 3 or 4 years going out on loan then both left.
  16. well i'm sure no one really cares but i'm pretty angry today! last couple of days i've been betting a game on a particular small bookies website and easily making over £100 per day without any trouble. I foolishly mentioned it to someone on a betting forum i'm on and the bastard managed to find a way of betting that i hadn't tried where it wasn't taking your money but it was paying out! he took £10,000! I saw his message about it this morning and quickly went on to have a go only to find they've no removed the game. I don't know if i'm more pissed off that I didn't see to do it for myself or that i've now lost a great regular income. either way i'm pretty narked! teaches me not to share a good thing!
  17. were not good at early kick off's, I don't think they get up till an hour before the game. and lunch times they've only just got up then hammerd a big lunch from the look of things. not too confident about this one, i've predicted a win on the prediction thingy but really i'm just being hopeful about it.
  18. you say he's been tinkering. but all the games we've won we've played 4-4-2. I've personally really like it when we've played 4-4-2 ------------Martyn-------------- Hibbert---Yobo---Weir----Neville ------------------------------------ Arteta---Davis---Cahill----VDM --------------------------------- --------Ferguson---Beattie------ With VDM making those nice switches of position that they did so well the other week. we tried 4-5-1 for several games and it simply isn't working now. I don't know why we are playing so badly but i'm really not looking forward to another sky game this weekend against tough opposition. Newcastle have picked themselves up a bit and if we play like we did against WBA we'll leak a record result. lets hope the boys have some self respect this week. I hate the way a designated player comes out on the offical site each week to appologise for the team, tell us how bad they feel and how they're gonna fight and work together to produce the fans a result the next week. Such bullshit i can' t listen too much longer. If they're gonna come out with that shite I wan't to see them actually produce it the next week. WBA wasn't just a bad performance it was a passionless performance by some quality players who looked like non league side.
  19. in my opinion and from what i've seen and I don't watch every game going. it would have to be Wayne Rooney - yes he's hated but despite him deserting us I can't help but feel something for the lad when I see his utter brilliant skill that I never feel when seeing anyone else, especially man shites. He's got it all, yeah he still loses his temper every now and then but in recent England games he's shown that he can be a lot more disciplined. he's got amazing vision, speed strength and the ability to hit the ball super sweetly from anywhere....actually he's got a lot more and we know it because we've seen it for ourselves. He's a better player than when we had him, he's learnt a lot from the players he's played with and from his experience and to me he's the most exciting player i've seen on a football pitch. Ronaldinhio as well, equally ugly but hast most of the talents that rooney has, some clever skills, good passing and can run at players as well. I think if both players were wanted to join were available and we had the money to buy one of them (very very hyperthetical eh!) I'd go for Rooney every time.
  20. ha...bastards never played one to our strikers though! i was concerned from the start seeing kilbane on the left meaning that vdm was on the right and arteta in the middle. vdm though his prefered position is on the right didn't seem to get much action down there. arteta is good in the middle but didn't have a great game. what really confused me was how the first 10 minutes we started really well, there was some good passing with good movement forward then at the first sign of a brom attack we fell apart leaving the defence to work their arses off. the tactical changes showed he'd given up on the game as weather on form or not we don't have a good enough team to warrant taking off both vdm and arteta while losing a game. especially not after bringing on ferguson who should be making the most of their crosses. beattie's back to his old self, losing the ball, falling over and ensuring that he didn't have 1 shot on goal all game. sad times
  21. you can't blame the referee for that lovely through ball that kilbane played for the 4th goal though. beautiful pass that set up a great finish. he really is a true star
  22. WEST BROM FOR FUCK SAKE. WE LOST 4-0 TO WEST BROM, THAT'S BEYOND A JOKE
  23. droobie no excuses. once again i'm embaressed. i played local "business league" football today and we all passed better than Everton. yes we gave the penalty shouldn't have been, but as the commentators said nevilles hand ball could well have been a penalty. yes the goalkeeper should have been sent off but we were already losing at that point and I really don't think the way we were playing we would have punished 10 players. also their 3rd choice keeper couldn't possibly be any worse than the fool they had in goal. Martyn and the defence, despite our 4-0 defeat all played well. the midfield was shocking. Davies, i'm begining to wonder why we bought him and what all the hype around him a few years ago was. he looks quite honestly rubbish. kilbane as well, our change of form with vdm on right and arteta in the middle with poor poor kilbane on left didn't work at all. osman would have been better in the middle with the areta and vdm playing how they have been. vdm still doesn't look fully fit. beattie was appaling, no excuses, he's yet to prove himself and should have done better. i know arteta and vdm weren't playing great but by taking both of them off moyes pretty much removed both players that have the ability to cross the ball for us and the ability to turn a game with a move. by taking them off the 6 attacking players he left were poor at best. bent worked hard but as the commentator pointed out when bent failed to control the ball that could have put him through "couldn't do a simple thing like control a football". WERE A JOKE
  24. not even worth guessing. i'll just wait and see who we get when the time comes! our transfers are never predictable. even though robbie keane has been said to be on his way time and time again i don't weather he'll move or not may depend on spurs getting a new striker. i'm sure we'll have cash to spend but I could just as easily guess that as I could guess how much all that stuff you've put on your car cost you!
