  1. i've been very impressed with his work rate and his strength. as well as that he's been very good getting down the wing and getting some good balls in. unfortunately it's at those times he (or someone else) n eeds to be in the middle! still lacks some of those instinctive finishes. he's had a few where he's had very little time to get the right shot off and has failed.
  2. Has anyone been to Amsterdam in the last couple of years? If you have, have you any reccomendations on Cheapish hotels? i'm going in May
  3. I don't see us getting this many players. I think as we clearly don't have the money to buy many players we need to give some of the younger players who have been playing well in the reserves a few games then if they look like they might be up to earning a place, giving them some preseason games. Obviously they won't walk straight into the side but i'd like to see them getting on to the bench next season and brought on regularly. I don't want us to rely on a team of under 20's but we have a good youth system that we should be trying to make the most of at a time when we cannot afford to buy in talent.
  4. ferrari looked quite good against Chelsea, only a couple of goals could be given a blame and that would really be on weir who was being skinned by the pace of the chelsea players every time and Valente who gave the penalty away. Ferrari looked cool at the back, controlled the ball well and made some good challenges. I think we'll win 1-0
  5. i wanted to see him come on for osman for the last 20 minutes. But when I saw him bring Carsley on I agreed that that was a fair move as Carsley needed the run out more than Anichoebe. What i'd like to see is if we get into a safe position in the table but look unlikely to qualify for Europe we should play some of the youngsters that have been making the bench when we've been short on players. there's been about 4 players, boyle, hughes, anichoebe, Vaughan if he's back and Turner of course if you include him. just giving them run outs one at a time coming on as sub for half hour or even starting would give them valuable experience and really make them feel like they've got a chance at making it. It will also open Davey and everyone elses eyes as to weather we've got any young players with the ability to make it in the side.
  6. Howdy, i'm looking at going to the away match at Chelsea on April 17th. However i'd like to know from some regulars how easy it might be to get tickets for this match. I need to book my flights now but don't want to end up with no tickets! the match is a 3pm kick off on Bank Holiday Monday. From anyones experience here are Bank holiday away matches usually well supported? I'm thinking i'll probably be able to get 1, from what i've seen most games make it to general sale. I'm an Evertonia member which i think gets me a chance at tickets one step before they go general. any knowledgeable info would be much appreciated!
  7. same as we did against man u last year. we had a terrible pitch but conveniently couldn't get any turf until after our game against them. i'm sure they could afford to change it but with the amount of games they play it's difficult finding a time when they have no games on there for long enough to do it.
  8. this sohould be in general football not General Everton
  9. Richard wright collapsing against the sign that was telling the useless twot not to practise in the feckin goal. I want it as my avatar! what a feckin fool. Just wonder who would gone in goal if turner had got injured/sent off.
  10. 1-1 joey barton and cahill (or anichoebe) scoring
  11. was quite amusing to see but it did cost me fantasy league points and a treble bet I had on! so rather mixed feelings! i'll go with
  12. i starting to like Reg, he's like Arsene Wenger sticks by his side weather they're right or wrong!
  13. if we buy every ticket for about £115 million then we'd pay off a fair bit! though knowing our luck we'd end up sharing the prize with other and lose money on it.
  14. that's him out for the chelsea replay
  15. haha...125 people have so far voted duncan twatting ferguson into second place for man of the match on the offical site!
  16. no nigel martyn. no beattie. mcfadden is playing. dunc and anichoebe on the bench. anyone know what happend to martyn?
  17. 2-1 win. a first goal for Anichoebe. (probably won't play as it looks like beattie will be back) cahill and beattie with the goals if not then!
  18. i love the way moyes always tries to put the possitive slant on us not buying a striker by suggesting someone else could play their. next he'll be suggesting Teflon for the role! what about Pistone?!
  19. i wouldn't quite say it was a last gasp draw! chelsea came out the second half like the always do if they're losing, they push all out for the equaliser and get it. They then pressured us for much of the second half with us having the occasional moment of pressure on them. we played well, we deserved our result but you can't deny that Chelsea make great tactial changes throughout games to ensure that they don't lose games.
  20. Preston/Crystal Palace v Coventry/Middlesbrough - fancy the home side Newcastle v Southampton - could go either way, you never know how newcastle will play Aston Villa v Manchester City - think man city will win but villa have been good on their day Everton/Chelsea v Colchester - home team SHOULD win Charlton v Brentford - Charlton to win Liverpool v Manchester United - anyones but 1 big side out Bolton v West Ham - Bolton I think but the hammers have looked good at times if we can get past chelsea which is no mean feet then I don't think we'd have anything to fear from then on realistically. i fancy a Liverpool derby final. what a tie that'd be for the new Wembley (like hell it'll be ready on time but it'd be a cracker!)
  21. is your brother martin jol?? cause it sounds like he's billy kenwright (no offence to your brother meant!)...bullshit to make the fans happy. would be pleased if it's true though!
  22. how did anichoebe play? i know he wasn't on for long but it sounded like he got straight in there and got a few good touches in. decent result but were going to be hard pushed to try and do the same at stamford bridge. hopefully we'll have a few players back but the home game was our big advantage. anyone know why beattie wasn't playing?
  23. roll on those trips to the russian and yugoslavian nations. cheap trips, cheap accomodation, cheap beer, cheap ladies....
  24. i almost bought some to tout out for thousands last year, decided against it as it's a mean thing to do! At the time you could have applied for up to 6 tickets for any groups and at a resonable price could have paid for tickets that would see you through up to 6 England games. Now i'm afraid they're probably all sold out and I think they havne't made them easily toutable so not even available on ebay (i may be wrong).
