  1. Surely...Surely...borough must be too knackered to put up a fight having only had a 1 day break after that huge game last night. well done to them but surely that must have taken a lot out of them. shame it wasn't an away leg and away to us though, that would really have taken it out of them! hopefully see anichoebe get at least half an hour this game, turner given at least a half in goal and vidarrson maybe brought on for 20 minutes. 2-0 to the blues Beattie and Anichoebe
  2. not to mention the fact that you should have taken a look at the other topics around before creating another one about timmy missing the world cup
  3. offical site shows saturday 3pm ko middlesbrough have got a nasty run in from today onwards tonight - steau Bucharest (H) Saturday - Everton (H) Monday - Man U (A) Wednesday - Bolton (A) Sunday - Fulham (A) how it pays to have a mediocure season with no long cup runs. the Everton hads can stroll around for the last few weeks playing 1 game a week max.
  4. Hibbo has a groin injury and is out till the end of the season i think. i'd like to see anichoebe come on for a full second half. and put vidarsson on the bench maybe or someone else that's been in the bench before and give them at least half an hour.
  5. Cahill has been ruled out with injury for 6 weeks, obivously ruling him out for our last 2 games. more importantly for him though I'd like wish him luck in getting fit before the world cup. he'd be sorely missed by oz if he's not there.
  6. i was hoping Villareal would do well as i liked their football when i saw them against us then after that. but having seen them in the 2 arsenal games i've been applled at how blatently they cheat all the time. not only do they dive and feign injuries but they make very dirty challenges. Ljunberg was constantly being fouled, worst of which when someone deliverately put their elbow into his chest as he tried to make a run. another one was henry on a corner who had someone hugging him, holding him then when the guy fell over and tripped henry he actually grabbed henry's leg to stop him doing anything while liying on the ground! good riddens.
  7. http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/Fernando-Morientes_W...1QQcmdZViewItem a rs fan, clearly not a morientes fan. can you see anyone taking up this 99pence offer?
  8. Arteta i saw how much potential he had for us last season and he has continued to improve this season especially when out on the right as he has the ability to put some great balls in and is the most skillful player we've had in the midfield for a while. He has also got into the english game well, a rather clumsy tackler but much like cahill he really gets stuck in and gives it his all to win the ball back. Beattie he took a lot of stick last season because of his injuries and then not really doing a lot when he did play. while the early months he struggled still, so did the whole team, when he gainned form so did the team and he has shown that he is an excellent all round striker that can score very good and simple goals as well as being able to work hard around the pitch chasing down the ball, holding it up and getting the odd cross in when forced out wide. he also seems pretty passionate about the club and will hopefully continue to feel this way and keep improving. osman While i've not personally seen that much of osman i've heard a lot of reports from others of you who see a lot more of games than I do. as well as this, much like beattie, the team has done well when he's played well or rather just played a lot of the time in his case! he's had a hard time trying to make the cut in the first 11 over the last year but he keeps sticking at it and with his hard workd he's managed to earn himself a place a quite often. hopefully we hang on to him and keep working with him and i think we'll see more improvements. I'd like to see him hit the gym a bit though just gain a bit of bulk and a bit of strength as he get get thrown off the ball and to the ground a bit easily against the average defender. Phill neville is also worth a mention as he has done a good job in many different positions has always been there and always a good spokesperson and always shows his experience well. his down side is that sometimes he doesnt' know when to shut up and can get himself booked because of this.
  9. lots of dull questions. lots of shite answers! these things are always a waste of time! and people kept asking the same question in different words, why do they let through the same question?! "Hellzangel: There have been lots of rumours linking you with transfers away from Everton, mainly to Liverpool and Man United! Is there any truth in the rumours and if not, how long do you see yourself staying at Everton?" "machine: hola Mikel, Mikel will you still be an Everton player at the beginning of next season Mikel: Yes, I will be." the second question didn't really need to be put to him after he'd answered the other. it's the kind of drivle that makes the pages of shoot or match or whichever kids football mags are round now!
  10. turner should be playing from now until the end of the seaon. nothing to lose and if he doesn't cut it wel look for another keeper. even if we looked to keep wright next season and if moyes does for some reason have faith in him turner should be given some games because he can!
  11. Kolon, I and i'm sure many others who read this are cringing at the title alone. James Vaughan is no Wayne Rooney. He may prove himself to be a top striker, he may score many goals for us (if he gets through this injury). However he will never be a Wayne Rooney. I think if England could produce 2 Wayne Rooney's in 5 years we'd all be amazed let alone them both coming from the same club. For anyone to be compared to him i'd need to see a lot of top quality football, vision, skill and all round footballing intelligence (repeat footballing!). just because Vaughan became our youngest player and beat rooney to be youngest scorer it does put him in any way in the same league as Rooney. I do however hope that he comes through his injury and gets another chance to prove himself and can break into the team.
  12. bollocks, arteta always looked class and it was obvious that if he signed up during the summer he would be an excellent signing. Kroldrup certainly a dissapointing suprise! Osman a bit of a suprise, he played well last season but then lost his place and with new midfield players brought in it looked like he was losing his chance, however he got back in there, got stuck in and has really impressed since getting back in the team.
  13. i've said it lots of times already and i'll repeat it again! we've got nothing to lose and not a lot to gain until the end of the season now, anichobe and some of the other lads should be getting on the bench and 20-30 minute appearences instead of someone like Ferguson. we've got defenders who have made the bench, when we've had injuries, they should be getting a chance now. it's as good a time as any preseason period to be giving some of the youth a little taster. i don't like the fact that we do sign these players up with pro contracts then leave them to rot for a year or 2 before giving them away on a free. I know a lot of them aren't up to it when it comes down to it but a bit of time on the pro field will really sort out those who've got it and those who haven't. you may not shine straight away but if you really want it you'll go into that next reserve game desperate to show your worth having been given the chance of playing with the big boys once.
  14. "Though they shudnt be there THANK YOU VERY MUCH Mr. Collina " not really true, as bitter as we may want to be over that, we wouldn't have necessarily qualified had that goal counted, we would have had extra time. when i saw them against us I thought they were a top side, to be honest they out classed us and I knew they could do well, definately not a team united wanted to draw! they're going strong and i think they could make the semi's. if arsnal keep playing how they are they will beat them but if not they've definatley got a good chance.
  15. he's foreign, he's at Everton and he's not shite...course he won't sign a new contract
  16. they're a great side anyway, in the league they've romped away with it the last year and this, i wouldn't be suprised if they got promoted again from the first, there isn't a big gulf between the sides and they've already shown they can beat good 1st division sides. average goals per game is at over 3 per game!
  17. I put an each way bet on them to win it at 42/1 after the first round! so i've won whatever the outcome now!
  18. sorry i'm hungover...it's april 1st...i should really be a bit sharper!!! every year
  19. http://www.evertonfc.com/news/index.php?page_id=9613 do we want a new modern designed crest???
  20. luis garcia's goal, what was naysmith doing. we all point the blame at wrights flapping run toward the player but naysmith aloud him to run through on to crouch's head on. poor positioniing and awareness all round.
  21. quite amazingly his odds to go are at 3.5 (betfair). incredibly low when you consider how long it is since he last played for england.
  22. of course you do Reg but that's besides the point isn't it!
