  1. Beattie and 2 from Anichoebe according to this site. http://www.Everton.vitalfootball.co.uk/article.asp?a=26573 if so anichoebe having been our most proliffic scorer over the pre season must be at minmimum on the bench against watford. a great player to have come off the bench. mcfadden according to this report also played very well so at least he's trying to fight for his place.
  2. exactly what i was thinking. weather he actually got spiked or not is not the point, if he had any discipline he shouldn't have been out. he's already said that he's recently got over a drink problem, he's got injury problems and needs to get fit and in good shape for an important season in his career but he's out getting pissed. idiot!
  3. they only play penalties cause the american's can't handle draws! at least all the important penalty takers scored. i wouldn't expect stubbs to normally take one anyway.
  4. based on craccer's analysis it looks like were going to be going down! not many good players in that side!
  5. i'd pick jenas over lennon as he scores more goals. osman's an interesting pick i don't think he'll play every game so your not guaranteed any points from him. i don't like to pick players that have not proven themselves in England so am unsure about shevchenko but think that he will do will as chelsea make enough chances for a decent striker to sore the goals. super league doesn't cost any extra mikeo
  6. test it on paper mate, not with your own money. if it looks good then give it a go. "systems" can work but whenever you see the offer of amazing money making system think to yourself "why is that person selling a system when they can make endless pots of cash from it themself! i've payed out on a couple of different football and horses systems but wouldn't do it again.
  7. has anyone else had a similar issue as this? When viewing many threads on this forum I often find that as I scroll down i'll get to a point where one of the messages will have some kind of HTML error on it or say nothing at all and just go blank. that ends up being the bottom point and i can't read on or get to the bottom of the page. i'm using IE 6.0 on XP SP2 I only have the problem at work. I'm allowing all cookies and have added toffeetalk to my Trusted sites making the security level low. it used to work fine and only recently fucked up. to be honest I wouldn't be suprised if it was a Microsoft patch that did it but i was just wondering if anyone else had the same problem?
  8. i've got money on AJ to be top scorer on an each way bet. which i think covers the first 3 places.
  9. if you'll remember kroldrup actually scored in a friendly last season he then later in the pre season got injured and was never seen again. Lescott, has already proved himself to a lower level in England and is ill at the moment. I don't actually know why im replying to such a negative post that has so little substance!
  10. as i've said before i think, I'd like to see him coming off the bench fairly frequently this season and I don't think it will take long to displace mcfadden from the 3rd striker spot. hopefully the more he develops the more a place he can get. while he'll probably not Take the first team spot if he can develop and prove himself throughout the season he could well get into a position where he can earn a spot whenever one of the first 2 is injured or not fully fit (god forbid suspended!). And even as a bit of rotation if one drops form a little. Hopefully Vaughan can come back to, I feel sorry for the lad, having broken the age records he gets an injury that’s set him back a year so far and he’s still not fit. I just hope he does get fit and gets another chance as it’s such a shame to see a talent go to waste at such a young age.
  11. good results, shame about lescott but if he's just got an illness that's not so bad. shame Johnson didn't score but anichobe scoring is good news, the lad looks like he's got a good future at the moment. i'd like to see a lot of him this season, obviously mostly off the bench but he could definately prove excellent back up. won't take long for him to move ahead of mcfadden in the pecking order. pretty good results though, good long run outs with not too many substitutions, no injuries and a few goals.
  12. should be entertaining! does blow their league apart, juventus will be in serie B for at least 2 seasons as there's no way they'll win the leauge by 30 points, they will however probably win the cup so get back in to the Uefa cup in a year's time. though AC will also be trying in cup competitions as they will find it hard to compete in the league. a major boost for english and spanish clubs who will now be favourites for the champions league with the other major forces going out.
  13. Well i'm definatley not new. signed up a long while ago and as the title suggests, this is my 752nd post. I've supported Everton since birth as my dad christened me an Everton fan before i knew what a football was. I live in Guernsey In the Channel Islands, a lovely little island but not the most exciting place for night life, big name bands, any kind of stuff going on or most importantly getting to see the mighty blues. a plane ticket to Manchester costs £100 minimum plus the obvious train and hotel expenses. I work in IT in a finance company (as finance is the only job available in Guernsey!) so feel it is my given right to spend all day on the internet which is why you will see me on here pretty often during the day. First Everton game I went to was Everton v Leeds at Goodison though i couldn't give you a date (I do have the programme at home so will check) I think it was the year Leeds won the league. A pretty dull 0-0 draw but as we'd all agree, once you've seen your first match with the atmosphere of 40,000 people no matter how poor the game, your hooked. haven't been to a lot of games, about 5 at Goodison and a few away games here and there in the southern area such as Plymouth, southampton and Portsmouth. I've also seen quite a few bournemouth games as my old man lived there for a bit, good to get back to the smaller stadium's with some proper standing terraces! saw them at wembley at the auto windscreen's final as well! best moment has to be the Everton v Man U 1995 FA Cup Final which is had the luck and pleassure of going to. somehow my old man managed to get some tickets off of a chelsea board member he knew giving me the best thing an 11 year old could ask for, a live vision of his club running round in front of him with the FA Cup in their hands!!! just to cut the maths from the above para, i'm 22. anyway, i only posted this because i was bored the end of a week at work, now it's half 5 i'm just gonna stop and go, if anyone cares to know any more they can ask! welcome to anyone new, and hi to all the old timers!
  14. most offended that radio 1 felt it was necessary to include the materazzi possible comment that "zidane is only fit to play for Everton". on the bloody news. in any case if he didn't demand such a silly wage then i'd let him join for a couple of seasons as when he does play well he is excellent.
  15. yeah i've been doing it for the last 7 or 8 years now and I do a work super league. in fact i don't mind pointing out that i won £40 for winning the world cup one this month! damn i was good! it costs a few quid but the site is very slick and easy to use, plenty of transfers enabling lots of varation, tactics, clearing out those players that are having a bad time or have tough games coming up etc. it's great fun and helps get you interested in some of the other teams too! admitedly there are downsides, when you've got a red shite defence and have to hope they get a cleansheet every game! or any game when you've got players in the team against Everton! you need a password for transfers which is supposed to be available only in the telegraph but it's easy to find online at a few sites, I can post it on here every week if other people are playing! anyway if loads of people are up for it then i'll stick another team in if we do a super league!
  16. i'd like to see some decent scores like that but it's difficult to predict. we have too teams of half youngsters and have fresh team members. while pressumably barnet and port vale will be fielding most of their first 11. i'll be happy if beattie and Johnson both get off the mark in their games and we get clean sheets. no injuries and some good displays from some of the youngsters who are currently doing well in the reserves (eg. vidarsson as well as anichobe).
  17. hmmm if AC were given the title then the accumulator bet i'd have on the winner of all the main European leagues would come in and i'd win £150.
  18. do you think if chelsea, man u, arsenal, liverpool and (for prides sake) Everton were found in the same position, the FA would relegate them? of course not, it wouldn't just hurt those teams, it would effect all the teams, sky rights would fall apart all kinds of sales would drop, the same quality of players wouldn't come in from abroad, etc etc. The league would be considered a joke as the clubs that everyone knows and expects to see at the top of the table would be gone. the only thing that would benefit would be the English players who, with less top class players coming in would get more of a chance to play.
  19. none will get relegated. to throw out the big clubs would cost the league millions and just wouldn't happen.
  20. if cahill was commenting on AJ on the first day of training pressumably he'd have been refering to some Australian kid at his old primary school. we'll take him.
  21. both italy and germany have produced an excellent game of football today though it's lacked goals it has had everything else in a very sporting manner as well which is unusual for both teams. maybe it's having a decent referee for a change that made the difference.
  22. going to the pub! went to the last game at 3 and got no seats so decided to go at 2 today only to find out last night that lots of people are going at 11am! never gonna get a seat! 2 good games today and i'm not a missing a minute of either.
