  1. very difficult to get away tickets as they all go to regulars. It looks like the away allocation hasn't been on sale yet so if you can find a friendly season ticket holder who isn't planning on heading to London then they may be able to get you tickets. Everton spare tickets (evertonspares) is a good twitter account for finding people who have spares and maybe worth posting on there to see if someone can help you out but it will generally be home games where season ticket holders can't make it to the game. I'm sure you'll be fine at Arsenal, don't where Everton shirts, sing along to Everton songs or make loads of noise in the unlikely event that we score! I'm not sure what the best (safest) area to get yourself into, i'm sure someone else can advise.
  2. I think with an addition of a decent striker who can backup/challenge DCL either a loan or signing the window will look decent. A more Eriksen type midfielder would have been good but we can't have it all and given we created an expected goal count of 3.2 in our game against Chelsea we weren't totally devoid of chances so if the players we have can be a bit more clinical backed up by a striker we should be able to get by. I don't think you can comment on a transfer window till well after its closed though, everyone happily slates are awful transfer policy of the last few years but I remember the excitement around the transfer window when we signed Gylfi, Keane, Pickford, Klassen, Vlasic, Rooney and Sandro Ramirez as well as Onyekuru (people saw him as a starting striker for January!)
  3. Only just seen match of the day highlights, more positive attack wise than I expected backed up by the 3.2ExG to their 1.4. As expected our problem was a lack of front man. There were chances there that weren't taken and other moments where a centre forward could have caused more trouble for the centre backs. I even think we'd have benefited from having Rondon up there, even if just for a portion of the game. Desperately need someone else before next week.
  4. Dele ahead of the others because almost all of his goals come from within the box where Gray likes to come inside and shoot from outside the box. Him and Gordon both like to run at players and cut in to create things where Ali is generally better in the middle. From 51 goals he's scored 3 outside of the box. He's also scored a decent amount of headers. Not ideal given our options for day 1 he will likely be the forward for that game.
  5. Probably because his friend is in contact with academy players. I did read that Dele came into last season in great shape also so won't hold my breath. He started the first 6 games last season but was rarely seen after that.
  6. Shirt numbers never get announced till they are submitted to the league when initial squads go in I don't think. It would make more sense where possible to get number changes announced prior to new kits going on sale but guess it's not always possible.
  7. I do like seeing Tom and Dom together on things like this, both seem like good down to earth lads that just love a laugh together. Admittedly they don't look like regular down to earth lads so much when you see them out in their own gear but lets leave that to the DCL thread!!!
  8. Just checked out a video of him at Sheffield United. Looks like he takes Dele's spot (which has never been Dele's spot!), looks to drive forward well, takes on shots and looks to play people in well with some good through balls around the box. Would work well with Gordon and Gray if they can look to cut inside and get into the box. Not sure on the price, he's young and English so price is always high but they need to be confident that he'll produce in the Premier league. Any offer over what we want to pay for him should be based around add ons that show some kind of success from him.
  9. I'd go 2 years with an option in 3rd if we were signing him to avoid being stuck with him for 3 if he's not doing the business. Not completely against him but it's not the direction I want us to be going in general. Rather see younger players coming in. If we Don't pay out too much on wages he does give us a proven Premier League option who knows where the net is.
  10. Champions league and a team battling the top 4. We might feel like Spurs aren't that far off from us but sadly they've been hitting the top 6 and top 4 regularly for the last 10 or so years. 7 times in the top 4 in the last 13 years, once finishing runners up and only outside the top 6 once. They've also been runners up in the Champions League. Admittedly there ability to win trophies is almost as bad as ours but if you were picking a team to play for right now they'd rate a lot better than us. For him it's probably a good move over some "bigger" clubs as he's likely to get more game time. Combining with Son and Kane gives them a very dangerous front 3
  11. Actually to continue on with my out of place thread. This link shows match day revenue by club, all be in in 2018/19 - https://sqaf.club/premier-league-clubs-matchday-income/ We were making just 0.59m per game Ignoring Man Utd's huge ground and Arsenal's ridiculous fees 3rd were Liverpool who with 52,983 average attendance were making 3.01m per game! Southampton and Brighton were only averaging 30,000 per game but were bringing in 0.77m per game, no doubt due to their newer grounds. Whilst they are the only 2 teams with lower attendances that are above us the gulf in income for fairly small crowd differences is huge.
  12. sorry that was a long post that really belongs in the new stadium thread but I was replying to a previous message! (not that anyone pays attention to posting things in relevant threads! )
  13. I think it's pretty much expected that prices will go up at the new stadium, this was mentioned a while back when they announced the season ticket price rises, likely increasing a little to soften the blow when we move to the new stadium. I would hope that they don't raise prices drastically certainly for a majority of the ground as there's nothing to gain by pricing out those that go every week. The other big profit from the shiny new stadium is that it will have better hospitality and corporate boxes. This was Arsenal's biggest revenue boost when they built their new stadium (I believe). Whilst we are unlikely to match Arsenal or Spurs for hospitality demand with their wealth of rich London supporters there are always people willing to pay the VIP treatment when going to a game plus you also get boxes that would be bought for the season by companies to use each week. Example: Goodison Park has 14 executive boxes Arsenal have 146 I think Anfield has 64 As an example price, from the most expensive team so not likely our ball park I can book an executive box for our game at Emirates for £7,200 (12 people) or one for £9,000 (15 people) so £600 per ticket! If they had 12 in each one of their boxes that would be a revenue of £1million! If you look at an individual paying £50 per ticket (roughly our non season ticket price) that's 21,000 people! There's obviously other options that we offer at the moment like the 1878 brasserie and '85 lounge which I'm sure will in the new ground offer bigger capacity, more options and probably higher prices. These are where the real match day revenue comes from when building a new ground. -- On top of that by having better facilities, in a better location and with the views across the Mersey to go with it you will make better use of the ground outside of match days. I don't know how much our facilities get used for corporate things but I went to a conference at Old Trafford once, the space wasn't anything special but having the ground as a back drop works really well. I've no doubt there would be lots of corporates wanting to use our space at the new stadium.
  14. The big difference will be that Richarlison would welcome a move to a top 4 club (even spurs probably!) but I think that Gordon is more likely to be happy to stay and improve at the club he loves, for now at least anyway. Gordon isn't a guaranteed starter in a top club right now and I'd say some of his great performances last season might not have been as good if he wasn't playing for Everton with a desperation to perform and keep his boyhood team up. That at times went against him in that he'd try to do everything but it also brought the best out of him and I don't think you'd see that week in week out maybe at another club. If I was Gordon I'd be looking to stay and improve at a team where he can play most weeks, has the backing of the fans and has his mates and family around him. If he continues to improve and we as a team don't then sure take a bit move if it comes. From Everton's side of it, they shouldn't be accepting anything other than a ridiculous offer, he might not be top level yet but could be and he has a real identity and passion for the club that the fans can empathise with, the kind of player that we want to see getting into and improving within the team.
  15. With Delph it may be more the wages he was on and want to stay on not worth backing for a player of his age and injury record than not trusting him on the pitch. We can't afford to have players like him, or like Mina who earn a good wage but can't be trusted to be fit for a majority of the season.
  16. fairly tough away games in the first month but if we're in for a half decent season we should be able to get a few points off of them. I quite like Chelsea home as an opener. We have a great record at home to them in recent years, crowd will be up for it with a big evening opening fixture and I fancy us to continue our run of wins at home to Chelsea.
  17. That's definitely what I want from an owner. Look after the business and let the people under you who are experts in what they do get on with what they do such as your DOF and manager! Randomly just mentioned it to someone on a work call at the moment and his dad is best mates with Kenyon! Not sure about the potential owners but I don't imagine liking the sound of many potential owners in Premier league teams.
  18. good on him. At 25 if he wants to make something of his career he needs to go somewhere where he will be first choice. in England i'd say that would be a top championship team or possibly a newly promoted type EPL side. Good luck to him, he had his moments and took his chance well when Lampard put him in the team but ultimately not good enough to get a regular place.
  19. I think Branthwaite could do with a Championship loan for regular football. He looked ok at times when he played but nothing special and would benefit more from playing than sitting on the bench. Holgate and Godfrey should be young enough and hungry enough to get themselves in the team and stamp their mark on the centre back spot. Assuming we keep one of Mina or Keane that gives us 4 centre backs which is plenty.
  20. Whilst moving to Newcastle will no doubt earn players more money than going to other currently similarly placed teams you could also say they are a club with backing and ambition to go up the table fast. When Man City first got investment you could say players went there for the money but it wasn't long before they had a winning team that were playing in Europe. That seems a lot more enticing than a team that are struggling to hold on to players due to FFP , have just about stayed up and have shown little sign of improvement over the last couple of years. If a top name player who is already playing regularly in a top club here or in a major league left to go to Newcastle then indeed it would be all about the money but if someone from a bottom half club in the Premiership goes I couldn't resent them the move as much as I may resent Newcastle's likely rise in fortunes in the next couple of years.
  21. Lets all just enjoy this image again and get along!
  22. I do feel like his passion for the club would be wasted at a club like Real Madrid or other teams where he's just another player in the squad. I can fully understand us selling if we get the right price though especially if he does express that he'd like to move for the chance of more success.
  23. for the first time in a long time there is no pressure or need to do anything here. Hopefully the team relax and enjoy the game and go out with a decent performance. I don't have any great expectations and after getting the win last night I'm really not that bothered either! Frank has said he will take the game seriously but change a few players. Players I'd think might get a go would be Tom Davis and Ben Godfrey, maybe Kenny in place of Coleman. Could give Branthwaite a game but I wouldn't bring both him and Godfrey in. Pickford Kenny Godfrey Keane Mykolenko Iwobi Allan Dele Gray DCL Richarlison Dele needs to get given a start after his performance in the last game, and with Iwobi and Dele in I'd rather have Allan working the defensive side than Doucoure who gave the ball away a lot against Palace. Final day of the season throws up some weird results some times, Arsenal desperately need to win whilst we not only have a terrible away record but nothing to play for. With that I'll say that we'll win 2-1 DCL and Richarlison Glad to be done with this season!
  24. I'd agree Matt. I heard this being talked about on the radio the other day with Newcastle. So far Howe has done a good job bringing in the players that Newcastle needed at the time without making mass disruptive changes. They'd do well to carry that on in the summer and not go mad. We saw it when Koeman brought in Klassen, Sandro, Sigurdsson, Keane, Pickford amongst others. There was too much change and it didn't really come together. I'd never even considered Pickford going until I saw someone mention it on Twitter the other day, hopefully he doesn't go, he's a vital player for us and has saved us so many times this season. His assuredness in the box also brings a lot to the defence if only we'd had a reliable defence week in week out. I'd really like to see Richarlison stay and to be honest I'm not sure I see one of the big clubs really paying out big for him, he does some good stuff, has amazing passion and work rate but he certainly has his flaws especially his wastefulness in front of goal at times. I think in a team that are creating more chances he'd probably perform better but depends if the big clubs really believe that. I believe he'd like to stay but equally he wants to be in high performing team competing in Europe, with the World Cup coming up soon he just needs to weigh up whether a move will end up improving or decrease his chances of getting there. DCL I'd lke to stay but I'd let him go over Richarlison, he seems like he may want to leave and if that is the case then best get the price for him as we can and move on. We need to make sure we get a good (not old) replacement who fits in with how Frank wants us to play. We can't be left with no proper striker or Rondon leading the line in the new season! It would be good to see Dobbin getting a chance if he's up to it but that needs to be behind someone of quality. Sadly for all his quality I'd let Mina go if we can get a reasonable fee for him. He just can't stay fit enough to be relied on.
