  1. May have all got a bit more complicated if Gordon is sold and £50m floating around. Pool of potentail striker targets (and quality) may improve if sale happens.
  2. https://totalfootballanalysis.com/player-analysis/anthony-gordon-at-everton-2021-22-scout-report I suppose in a game of stats and data - he has a extremely good showing on some of these graphs - especially for a team on the back foot a lot of the time. Interestingly they are very close to the numbers of D McNeil.

  4. It's a loan, so getting out of the UK might be just the tonic he needs to get his confidence back. In 9 months time, he may have a spring in his step again and got his goal scoring touch back. Sounds very much like it's happening.
  5. This might also explain why he's not been starting games, if not really in the plans for the season.
  6. Yeah, he will not be a massive miss out of the squad if it lets us bring somebody else in instead. If his only contribution was his helping us turn the game around against Palace - then he has more than covered his wages since arriving. I wonder how this Spurs payment business all works if we loan him out?
  7. https://insidefutbol.com/2022/08/16/claim-from-turkey-dele-alli-set-for-besiktas-switch/573674/ not sure I see any truth in this. Would it save us having to part with any money to Spurs?
  8. If he goes and we get £50M in, then I don't really care if he makes it or not once he's not Everton - In fact, seeing him then not 'make it' sadly then make us fans feel better about the whole thing.
  9. more the fact that its a decent chance he would spend more of his contract on the bench. Where as at Everton - he plays.
  10. Makes the Onana deal for around the £33M mark look decent business to me then.
  11. https://www.sportsmole.co.uk/football/chelsea/transfer-talk/feature/why-everyone-loses-out-if-gordon-leaves-everton-for-chelsea_492381.html?newsnow This article rings true. We will be without a player that starts most weeks, and he almost embodies what we should be trying to do as a club - a local, young academy player in the first team improving year on year. Chelsea will spend a lot of money on a player who is unlikely to make there starting 11 any better, and Gordon goes from week in week out starter to bit part player at best. He potentially becomes the next Ross Barkley - who has ended up spent the peak years of his footballing career on a bench or worst or being touted around on loan. It is a sad sad maker of where football is these days - the financial power to those who have simply been fortunate to get in the 'top 6' monopoly when it really counted means they can simply steam roller the rest of us season after season. The likes of Everton, West Ham, Leicester or whoever can only get a sniff if and when one or two of the big 6 have an off season - then they simply go out and spend £150-£200M without any sort of financial worry! We simply can't turn down £50M bid, and Chelsea et al all know.

  13. if anything Chelsea may have mutted a £40M deal - however £40M is most likely not in £ but in the currency of Gilmour, Batshuayi and Barkley!! and maybe 12months loan of Gallagher or Broja. Chelsea get rid of players who are not getting in their team and off the wage bill, get another 12months experience for either Broga or Gallagher and pick up the future prospect that is Gordon. That would be a great deal for them.
  14. I think you are putting too much value on 'potential' - Gallagher has just as much 'potential' as Gordon. I think if it came to a straight out vote, most would swap Gordon for Gallagher for ability. Passion for putting on a Everton shirt? That's another question.
  15. I agree, Gallagher probably worth more than Gordon. They might try and be crafty and try and dump a few on us - Gilmour etc, and maybe sweeten the deal with a Gallagher or Broja loan. I think we should try and bring in Broga on a permanent and he can be proper competition for DCL not simply back up.
  16. Can't argue that we are not being offered decent enough money. I think it has to hinge on what any fee will allow us to bring in. It sounds like MGW is being talked about in the £35-£40 bracket. So this seems to be the value these days of promising youngster. Who knows the ins and outs with FFP, and how a £40m sale effects how much we can spend this window. If we got a lions share this window, might allow us to spend more than £40m. Will be hard to replaced Gordon's passion for putting on a blue shirt.
  17. I think we would have to seriously consider taking £40m - that could go a long way to adding to this squad. And in 12-18months time, we can probably loan him back in any case. My guess is Cheslea will want to use this as a way to move some of their players on, so not sure it would be a cash purchase.
  18. I was hoping Gordon would be player stepping in to Richarlison shoes, bit this falling over and being hurt business just becomes embarrassing. Gets to the stage, that it's hard too know if there is a genuine foul or just play acting.
  19. I thought we had a fair few players to integrate in to a team over the next few months. Forest have a near total new team.
  20. With Doucoure going off, I have a feeling he just might. So impressed he just dusted himself down after the goal, and minutes later was creating one. I think we are just going to have to accept the inevitable 'growing pains' of getting this young lad on the pitch. The mistake came out of attempting to be be positive, they are the kind of mistakes I can accept.
  21. With DCL injured did we know before kick off we need a striker? yes, so no real surprises. Rondon did help show we are much better with a proper striker on. Lampard said before the game Rondon not fit enough for full game, so in this heat he would have been done by half time. I am guessing as we almost stole a point at the end - Rondon was more effective coming on later in the game than he would have been if he'd have started - could maybe argue 10-15mins earlier should have been the call. The club are working on bring in another striker, so the part of the pitch is going to improve. Defensively we are much much better already this season even though we have still had to chop and change the CB in our first two game. Last season we would have lost this game 3 or 4 to nil. This season we where ultimately unlucky not to nick a point in the last 10mins. So green shoots of improvement for me. Given all the changes this summer, I am not yet expecting us to go away and beat better squads of player just yet. So no need for any sort of inquisition or panic buttons.
  22. My stream gave in, but it sounds like I am missing fuck all other than misery. However, I was not expecting a great deal away to villa this early in the season. At 1:0 always still in the game though. Sound like Rondon or Alli needs to come on for one of the front three for the full half.
  23. Onus is on Villa in this game. Keep it tight and frustrate them and try and nick something on the counter. Not expecting loads yet as players still bedding in. Defense looks strong, but only been together a few day. Such a Different team than that taking to the pitch 12 months ago. So nicking points is the name of the game over this period.
  24. I think there is going to be a lot more effort with regard too younger players going out on loan and getting proper senior competitive football. Much better for their development being part of match day squads, playing home and away week in week out in front of stadiums full of passionate fans.
  25. We don't seem to do to well against Villa. Their first home game of the season, and us still finding out feet with the new squad and possibly another debut at the weekend. Think I would take a draw and no injuries if I could. 0-0 would suit me as really hoping we become very difficult to score against and defensively we really grow in confidence game on game. Would love to see a frustrated and groaning set of Villa fans.
