  1. https://www.dailymail.co.uk/sport/football/article-11101671/Everton-reject-West-Hams-bid-Michael-Keane-loan-Toffees-battle-injury-crisis.html I am guessing if they'd have showed interest a week ago, we may have been interested. keane's not going anywhere with two CB on the treatment table.
  2. I think with a raw Onana, a more experienced player like Gana might be a better option this season. Might be a bit risky putting two new youngsters with no Premier experience in to the middle of the park. Would love Camara at the club though, as in a couple of years time could be a cracking player.
  3. Is his injury record that bad? - in last 4 seasons has had a single ankle injury that kept him out for a single stint of 10 games. Seemed to have a few muscle problems when he was younger 2016-18, but would say that's in the past.
  4. https://www.ligue1.com/Articles/ONE-TO-WATCH/2020/02/20/one-to-watch-serhou-guirassy can't say I have ever heard of him. At least if your big, strong and fast - you at least have half a chance of doing something in the Premiership. Loan with a option to buy would be best.
  5. last year how many time did we find ourselves a goal or two down? and most of the time because of something stupid rather than the other team playing really well. The first priority is not to give teams a head start in games. You have to say our recruitment so far should go along way in sorting this out. As dull as it might be to start with, this season I will take plenty of 0-0 and 1-0 wins and a solid base to build off - especially away.
  6. really enjoyed that video and discussion. Easy to see why Frank has such a high IQ, seems a very thoughtful and intelligent person. He definitely has all the attributes to be a very good man manager, and you can see that building a squad full of people with the right attitude and character are very high on his agenda. He was also talked a lot about alignment of all at the club to be aiming for the same goals and having a clear pathways on getting to them. I think given the right amount of time, I think he will get this club to the right end of the table. Interesting the comment about Sir Alex and his view a reasonable cycle in football is 4 years to get wholesale changes implemented. Arteta will be going in to his 4th year in December, so that rings quite true. I think we really have to stick with Frank and his team, through ups and downs over the next 2 or 3 years at least and remember the low base from which he has started. Change and improvement might take a bit of time, but I get the feeling its going to be done right.
  7. I wonder if with his new found confidence he could also add a few more goals to his game. I have always thought he should be chipping in with 5-6 goals a season. A few goals will be very welcome this year.

  9. Agreed, I think most fans realise we are rebuilding from a pretty low baseline, so will be willing to give time to see improvement. Just need to cast an eye toward Arsenal and the time Arteta has been allowed to build something there. We can't shit the bed when we have a run of bad results, which we will have, and could easily be this side of Xmas. Putting a new squad together does not happen overnight.
  10. I think given that the purse strings are pretty tight I think this summer its about spreading relatively little a long way. I think in this transfer window we are getting a good mix of youth and seasoned pro's who go straight in to the team. Bigger fees paid for youngsters and lesser or no fees for older player. I think all the players being brought in so far are hungry, robust, are of the right character and mentality and significantly improve our squad from a footballing point of view. This summer we look to be stabilizing and forming a solid base for the future. I am expecting us to become very tough to beat as the season goes on, and developing our offensive capabilities off the back of this solid foundation. The squad have been to soft and too fragile for far to long, it's as if somebody in now really thinking about it!!! seems to me the first questions in our recruitment are now - is he injury prone? does he work hard? is a sound character? is he passionate about playing for this club? does he have the footballing attributes we need for this squad? does he provide good value - and it only if all these questions are answered correctly that any sort effort in signing him is made. As it stands I will give the recruitment team the benefit of the doubt in the pursuit of a striker.
  11. https://www.birminghammail.co.uk/sport/football/transfer-news/wolves-everton-transfer-conor-coady-24692973?fbclid=IwAR0zeeQUjslGuNzl1fSZ3Z_Hv_9JdUrAq8-siWueHjDzyTgZWp0HNem5jXE Wolves fans rate him and most think we have picked there pockets having him in our squad this season. He instantly improved a back three . Whoever lines up next to Tarkowski and Coady at the back will know about it if they fuck up and I am pretty sure it will improve them as players themselves by having two strong leader next to them - having these two as your senior CB's could massively impact Godfrey, Holgate and Branthwaithe. To me the bar for getting on the pitch and what is going to be expected as a CB for Everton has been raised up massively this summer.
  12. I think you are right about everybody being Lampard sceptics - Lampard is also the bookie fav for first Prem manager to leave his post!!! WTF. Club are backing him this window, he is bringing the right caliber players and players seem to want to come and work with him, the fans are on his side and I think we will have patience with him and this new squad start to work with each other, it also seem to me Frank has already developed a love for the club.
  13. A seasons loan is what is best of Simms and what is best for Everton in the longer run. It's always if's and but's, could now also say we shouldn't have sent Branthwaithe on loans as we have lost two CB in the last game. A opportunity came for Simms to go to a decent size club with a strong following - I think it will do him the world of good there. A real chance for him to develop. Ellis Simms is just not yet ready to make much of a difference to our season. I don't think Lampard would have started him in any case over a senior player - simply because he's a striker. If anything hindsight wise, might have been better to have had Alli on from the start. But then again one decent pass from Grey and Gordon would have been through and we could have won the game 1-0. We could have easily been lauding what a master stroke in having Gordon as the front man was. It was a tight game all around. If anything not having Simms about to just stick on the pitch as a 'striker' gives Lampard more ammunition to put pressure on the board to find some money to bring in a bona fida back up striker.
  14. It is interesting that nobody has voted for 15th to 17th place. From the non bias outside world which takes our love of the club out of the predications - all the bookies have us roughly at 15th place and the so called 'super computer' has us finishing in 16th place.
  15. I think we should be finishing about the likes of Bournemouth, Fulham, Forest, Southampton and Leeds as a minimum. I would like to think this young and new look team will be competing with the likes of Wolves, Leicester, Palace, Brighton and if we get lucky with injuries etc at best possibly competing with Villa, Newcastle and West Ham as best of the rest this season. I think Man City, Liverpool, Spurs, Arsenal, Chelsea and even Man U are pretty much nailed on for the top six positions this season - may be a rebuilding Man U might have a wobble. This seasons recruitment does give me hope that more players with the right attitude and battle will be taking to the pitch. It will take time for it all to come together and partnership to develop though. It's going to take a few months for the squad to bed in for sure - so almost going to be about snatching as many points as we can before November break.
  16. and they are welcome to him - wouldn't have thought he is the type of player they need right now either. That's one thing I am impressed with for the signings we are making, they seen to all good of characters. I think Rabiot's has been questionable in the past.
  17. Did columbia qualified? I thought they missed out.
  18. Going to have to say to Chelsea that we need to sort it this week, otherwise we are going to look elsewhere. Need somebody integrated in to the team ASAP now. A Broja in our team could potentially help us take points of Chelsea's rivals. We would doing them a favour!
  19. To be honest with the break at the end of November for the world cup. I would think at best it's going to be Xmas.
  20. Had to go with Iwobi. I am so encouraged he has started this season just the way he finished last season He is always being pick by the squad as being the most skillful player, and somehow Lampard has really brought him out of his shell and he is showing his skill and matching it with work rate. Seeing what Lampard has done with Iwobi is hopefully a real indicator that he is going to develop in to a first rate manager.
  21. As far a defeats go, players can come of with their heads high. Very little between the teams really, Pickford had little to do. Defended corners well. We made as good as chances as they did. Plenty to be positive about.
  22. Hoping he will grow from this, just as mykolenko has.
  23. Wishing Alli to score just ti shut these commentators up.
  24. Two CB's. Not going to be musical CBs for the whole season again is it.
