Just saw that David Villa is set to join Lampard at NYC. I think he'd be a great signing for us. Still only 32 so has at least 1 or 2 more years in him and he played his part in Atletico's season last season. Wealth of experience (In Europe as well), free transfer. No brainer for me, would be a boss signing. Just depends on his wage.

This. I agreed with the comment about Stones but i still rate Jags pretty highly. I still think he's a better defender than Cahill as well. I think a Jags/Stones Partnership would work really well in theory. Though Stones isnt as quick as Distin, he's still pretty quick and I personally think Jags is better on the ball than Distin as well. Cant remember them playing together but i think they'd work.

Slightly different in that Chelsea's squad is littered with multi-million pound talent and has the talent there to go at teams. Without arguably their 2 best players in Turan and costa I don't blame Athletico for going with that approach against another team who had 2 players on the pitch that cost more than Athletico's team two maybe 3 times over. I'm usually all for the "no fear" approach and love to see the under dogs just go at the bigger teams but I can understand why Athletico played the way they did and I don't blame them too much. Can't stand Madrid though and everything they stand for.

Garbutt played really well from what I saw. Did well for the second goal. Redmond played well an deserved his hat trick. Definitely too good for the championship next year IMO, I'd rather we went for him than Gerry on loan again personally. Berahino looks a player as well. Could probably get both for a little over £10m and would set us up for the future with bright English talent. Think my heads in footy manager mode though probs

Thats why im suprised Carrick didnt get the nod. But i suppose if you look at the way the shite play, Gerrard is the only one who really sits deep for them whilst Henderson is their legs and does a kind of McCarthy role. I think Barry would have been great cover for Gerrard as they both do very similar jobs at club level. Cant see where Lampard fits in personally apart from having an experienced head around the team.

So why was that? Because of the Liverpool situation. Thats whats a disgrace. Explain the logic to me behind that? why bother going? I have a very valid concept of the shite they come out with 90% of my mates are red.
