I've slated him before and I'll gladly hold my hands up because he's won us some valuable points this season. Looked immense when he came on today, his touch was superb and he was really mobile making him a nightmare for anyone trying to pick him up. Just wish he could have got that hat-trick! He deserved it after the stick he's taken. Really happy for him.

Important win. We need to make this count against Arsenal now though. Great game changing subs from bobby though. Wasn't there a link posted somewhere that he had made the most goal scoring subs in the league? He just added to it today! Going to be an interesting end to the season that's for sure.

Worst half I've seen us have this season. Ossie is proving why he can't play 2 games in a week. He just can't do anything, too weak and his touch has been woeful. Gerry needs to cut inside instead of getting to the byline everytime. Distin and Barry have been awful as well. From the off there was no urgency what so ever. We need to impose ourselves on teams like this. They're bottom of the league FFS.

He scored a goal and got a penalty with a good bit of skill, but yeah he didn't deliver did he really? . He's still only 20 years old for christ sake...I think people forget that sometimes. Thats like a bare minimum requirement for most offensive players. It's not going to come down to that to judge whether he can play upfront on his own. Massive exageration. Though i know where your coming from. I Think your missing the point im trying to make. What im saying is that McAleny is more a type of Aguero, Suarez type player (Im not saying he's going to be anything like as good) than a Dzeko or Lukaku. And i dont see his strength being a major factor in deciding whether he can play up top on his own or not, when you consider our style of play.

This winds me up so much. Sturridge, Aguero, Suarez all top top premier league strikers, would you say they were physical players? You need the physicallity if you dont have the technique, as you need something to beat a defender, i get that (Bony at Swansea, Dzeko at City, to a lesser extent even Lukaku). But the way we play football, he's not going to be asked to turn his man, Win headers or shrug defenders off the ball. If he did play he would play between the lines and make runs beyond the defender. He's never going to have the physicality to play in this league, so he's finding a way in the U21's to beat people with his skill and technique, its now just a question of whether he can do that against premiership defenders. The days of Little and Large striking partnership are long gone IMO. The kid does sound exciting though and i think he could be a great striker up top on his own or possibly interchanging with the 2 wingers, similarly to the shite with Suarez, Sturridge and Sterling.

I'd say he only had 2 more seasons in him anyway so i think thats about right. I am optomistic about him coming good for us though! Just dont think he will justify his fee.

Im still not sure about Kone. But in my head he does have all the attributes to be a good player, the only thing against him is his age really and the fact that he's got a pretty serious injury this late on in his career. I dont think he's going to come in and get us 20 goals a season I dont think anyone is expecting that, but i think he could get us a good 10-12 goals a season. Does anyone know how long a contract he signed?

Popped out of Mirallas arse have we? Considering a first season under a new manager, new players and playing a completely different style of football, then yes I would have taken 7th you complete and utter spade!

I know, just personally the Europa league doesn't excite me. I'm not saying it's a bad season btw. If you'd have given me 5th/6th/7th at the start of the season id have bitten your hand off. Just got my hopes up of CL after the start we had, but expectations have been brought down to earth the last few weeks is all I'm saying.
