  1. I think it's more to do with the fact that the season has kind of turned into a bit of a damp squib the last few weeks. First we lost fourth so there wasn't that much to play for in the league other than pride an prize money. And now we're out of the cup. Now it's just a case of "let's finish as high as we can" which I'm a little bored of personally. Doesn't mean that if I go the match I'm going to be an arse and moan everytime something goes tits up but it's the sense that I know we should win it, we probably will win it and if we do it's just 3 points...it's not really a win on the way to something..if you know what I mean?
  2. Same here. I think its because a lot of us were on a high after the start we had and unfortuantely we've been brought back down to earth after injuries and lack of form have affected us badly. Got to remember its our first season of transition though and it will take another year or two i think personally, untill we are really up and running.
  3. Go'way!??! Hid that one well. His consistency is his biggest downfall as pointed out above. Like Cornish said, consistency is a big part of quality. It's alright to be boss once every few weeks but nobody is ever going to consider him a real top quality player unless he does it more consistently.
  4. Agree he doesn't dserve it on recent form but what's the point in Milner? We know what he can do. It was only the last 5 but why not just say to Ross go and have a go? No sense in it IMO. Then again when it comes to England I'm lost at most of the desicions made anyway.
  5. Only an England manager would put one of the premier leagues highest goal scorers on the wing. I know he plays for the shite but let Sturridge play down the middle FFS! Tracking back every time isn't his game. Said it before and will say it again, Wilshire is so so so over hyped. If he wasn't English he wouldn't be playing for a top 6 team.
  6. Get on the phone to Davie and beg him to come back then lad!
  7. Lampard has made 21 appearances Of which he has started just 15. He is 35. To me, that's bit part. Barry has started 22 of his 24 appearances. He is 33. He's pretty much first name on the team sheet. Barry won the league with City and has been to WC's before so not sure how Lampard is that much more experienced "at the top end of the league" Gerrard has been great sitting infront of the back 4 for Liverpool, a job Barry does similarly for us, we'd be stupid not to rotate the 2, partnered with someone with more legs. How does Lampard fit into the team? He can't play with Gerard as we've seen for the last 10 years and he can't do what Gerrard does so he can't be used as a rotation option with him (Barry could, quite easily) and I wouldn't have him behind the striker in place of players like Rooney, Oxlade chamberlain, even Barkley. It's people like you who cram players into the team sheet because of their names or who they play for and then moan when we're still shite.
  8. I really don't know why I bother replying to you anymore but here it goes. What has Lampard done this season to warrant a place in that team? He's been a bit part player for Chelsea and he is at the end of his career. Same could be said of Barry except he is a regular for us. Hodson said he would base the team on form. Explain to me how that works in the case of Lampard? Cotto throwing some shite out there without backing it up! Shock bloody horror.
  9. I didn't see Marco mention stones in his post that you quoted, sorry dunc!
  10. Wasnt that Stones? on the edge of the Box, good strike by Carroll but it was straight at Howard? McCarthy was outstanding i thought. There was a moment when he had the ball in our half and he took 3 West ham players out the match with 1 pass through them all. Great player.
  11. Was cringing at how Adrien was time waisting from the 60th minute onwards for West ham. Honestly feel sorry for their fans (who were brilliant today btw). Pienaar was shocking apart from bits of the second half. McCarthy was fantastic as was Stones. Played some great stuff at times but west ham were always going to be hard to break down. Good win all in all
  12. Sad to hear. Genuinly a bit gutted. Was doing a great job for the club and i cant really remember such a "feel good" atmosphere surrounding the club in my lifetime really apart from the season we finished fourth.
  13. There's a commment on the Sky Sports that points out, why is there 4 Keepers? whats the point?! Cleverley is just an absolute joke of a selection. Milner as well. Lampard shouldnt be anywhere near the team anymore either, if your his age you have to be playing week in week out which is why i dont have a problem with Gerrard. Barry should be in over Lampard every day of the week. Welbeck is just as shite but can have the odd game were you think hes quality so i can understand that as there isnt really anyone else. Smalling just isnt good enough either. Funny that how half the United team are gash but selected for England.
  14. I hope we are keeping an eye on Doumbia from CKSA Moscow. Im sure he's on a free in the summer. His record speaks for itself; http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Seydou_Doumbia Not a great record for Ivory coast and i know he hasnt played in the best of leagues before but i'd still take a punt on him personally. Think he would fit it in to our style of play a lot more than Lukaku does as well. Ten, are you still keeping tabs on Baakali and Depay from PSV? Havent been able to see much of them this year. Edit: Seems he is free next summer...http://www.transfermarkt.co.uk/en/seydou-doumbia/profil/spieler_75287.html Should still mean he'd be available for a reasonable fee this summer though.
  15. We haven't. My point was that if he we did loose him for an extended period then we would miss him big time IMO.
  16. I think i'd be better than Clerverly! But i do know what you mean. Think you'll definitley stay up. Like a lot of people i cant stand "Big" Sam but he knows how to win games if you are down there. Like Romey siad before, not a good time to be playing you at the minute but hopefully we'll get the win we need.
  17. You cant be serious. No offence, but Noble wouldnt get near most teams in the top half, he may be a good player for teams in and around mid-table but England? really? I get that you've seen a lot more of him than I have and he may be to you what McCarthy is to us I.E you miss him more when hes not playing. But i get the impression he's been the best of a bad bunch when you consider the season you've had. Should be a good game, your always a difficult team to break down so im not expecting many goals. Hopefully Lukaku is back and Barkley pulls his finger out.
  18. See browning is back from Wigan. Anyone know how he got on?
  19. Curious to know how many of those were penaltys/free kicks/corners. Your right, there are players who can defend and attack but there arent many. And they come at a premium. Gerrard in his pomp and Yaya are the only one's off the top of my head. Barry and Mc Carthy are 2 very capable midifielders and they both bring something to the team. They can both break up attacks and keep the game ticking over. They arent going to get you 7-8 goals a season on top of that. Thats the reason we play with a midifielder behind the striker (Barkley, Osman) thats their job. If your looking to critisize, theres where you should be aiming.
  20. We have 2 CM's who play deeper because of our Fullbacks. Our Fullbacks are up there with the best in the league. When they go forward depending which side, McCarthy and Barry have to have the itelligence to cover for them. McCarthy has the Legs and Intelligence, Barry has the experience and ability, they go together really well. Its then the CAM midfielders job to get the goals and assists, this is usually either Barkley or Osman. Barkley has been very poor by his standards recently albeit coming back from injury and Osman if we're being brutally honest is "past it".
