Makis, where is your info that the £100m is inclusive of wages? So far the £100m has only been a rumour so stating it includes wages is just making things up.

Everton had enough money to spend £30m last year before the increase in TV money, so how much was the increase for this season?

Apart from us buying two or three strikers if we shift the current crop, I don't want us buying back up players. Buy players for the first team, let the current first team players become the back up.

I actually think he's a decent player. Can certainly score a few. His attitude stinks (it seems or maybe ill advised) but for the right price and right management he could be very good.

I'm just so thrilled that RM is gone, so I feel like we actually have a chance at something now. If he had stayed, more hopelessness would have pervaded the team and us fans. Even if RK is not the man we think he is, at least we are giving him a try and going down a new and unexplored road. I for one am infinitely more excited about this coming season than I was last year at this time. To even think that the lads might even be in shape with proper fitness levels going into the first match makes my meat sizzle (sorry for the disgusting metaphor).

As for the money aspect, what do you expect in this day and age? Its the 90's.

Personally I'd be going for Oscar if Conté isn't interested

I also think Traore was a good signing just unlucky with injuries, didnt cost us anything.

Wonderful attempt at spin there Mark. I mean I wonder why jags made 30 more interceptions than Rom? Why did Howard make 100's more saves than Rom.

3rd most assists.... why not just say he made 6 assists? Interesting that his pass completion percentage is lowest...

I think De Boer is more of the Martinez mold tbh.

Saving me type work. Top man, Makis. Highlighted most areas that would be of interest to people, especially if they've had no knowledge of some of the above candidates or their work.

For your sake and the benefit of the forum and members, definitely should go in the managers threads. All forum traffic not accustomed to these guy would like see it and not get forgotten about in the Lukaku thread.

    As I say, nice one.

Please explain why that is a strawman argument??? I think you need to understand what a strawman is. A strawman argument is "you want to sell Lukaku? Ah so you are OK with getting relegated are you?
For the record all of Roms goals bar 1 have been in the penalty area. Yes he did miss about 5+ y yard box tap insurance from deulofeu, he also managed to get a fair few off him. A courageous, hard working striker would have got lots more.

    Lacks heart.

I see Harry Kane is still on your hit list... I would swap Lukaku for him or Vardy in a heart beat. Would Luksku get in the England team ahead of them? Not a chance. May make squad at best ahead of Rashford.

I'd be happy with Pellegrini. Experienced manager, good trophy record, one of the less batshit insane managers out there.

I'd say bony is a far better back to goal player, stronger, goals to minutes very good... not sure why he's no where near as good

Neither are anywhere near as good as Lukaku therefore if they replaced him we would be worse off

Not a big fan of either myself Dean I think Bony could be decent again at the right club

There's an abundance of players out there not many had heard of Lukaku before his stint at WestBrom the same can and will happen again there's players out there to be unearthed, people flapped when Rooney went who was at the time a much better and rounded player then Lukaku but we got better as a side from it

I know it's easier said than done but a good eye and scouting can produce the players we need sometimes it takes the right player for the right system Leicester are testament to that

£60m+ and I'd drive him anywhere for that and even buy his knobhead dad a coffee

I wouldn't hire De Boer, mainly because if he doesn't have success straight away the fans will be on him immediately as he plays the same kind of conservative possession-based game as Martinez. Think it's time for more of a direct, counter-attacking manager, preferably one that also focuses on high-defensive pressure.

Don't get the Cleverley hate. Before his injury he was superb. That injury was a big blow as it happened after a good pre season and his match sharpness just went.

He needs to be fully fit like mccarthy. He's not a skilled or flair player, more industrious who needs to be fully functional. He cost fuck all and is a solid squad member.

Pressure would also be off, so he won't be expected to 'win' anything immediately (I wouldn't have thought).

    Positives
+ Huge war chest for the summer coming (big influence on our squad for years to come)
    + Not high pressured
+ Could have some influences on the new stadium
+ Would be adored by most of our fans
+ Have full control of first team workings (unlike Chelsea, Inter)
+ Chance to create a legacy from this project

    Negatives
    - No European football this year
    - Step down, not one of the current "Big clubs"
    - Would have to work harder than he'd imagine
