Are we taking this as an alternative to Distin? or as a replacement for Heitinga. In fairness Heit's has played in a midfield role under Martinez so far. Quality signing if we get him, hopefully Mirallas has been on the phone to him putting a good word in.

that's ok if you have midfielders and forwards who can regularly score but imo we are not clinical enough across the park to out score teams.

We did defend with a high line imo, that's what Martinez's teams do, but im not going to argue with you about it. What i do know is that if we defend the way we have been giving the ball away, then we are going to be on the end of some batterings next season imo. We are NOT a team that can out score other teams. We had a tight solid defence, why is Martinez trying to change it? if it ain't broke don't fix it imo.

Not so sure about that, we played with such a high line the other day, I hope we don't start the league defending like that, otherwise our goals against is just going to be plain scarey next season.

You can pick a Merak up for less than £10000 now Mike, but trying to find parts for is a different story, nice cars though.

He did well in the last pre season though then failed to produce in the league. I think he will prefer it under the new managers system but i still think he is a squad player, and if anyone ever makes a bid for him we should take it imo.

I agree, Jags showed last night and against Blackburn that he has ability in his locker(some great passes from him last night) with Jags it's going to be a consistency thing imo, however with Distin he looks lost, he was all over the place in that game, gave the ball away loads. If Martinez is going to play that way then i think Distin's days looked numbered.

A decent enough game although we did give the ball away far too much and we look lost in the final third at times, not really knowing whether to go on and pass or shoot or what. Great to see Gerard though, one drop of the shoulder and the kid looks class. Still think we need a few more additions to the squad before the start of the season, but im happy for the most part at the moment.

Bout fucking time, see what we can do when we want too COYB!!

We have very few ideas in the final third of the pitch, need some more options within the squad.
